Every year we go there, even though it'll take over an hour to drive to, it is well worth the strawberries. These are all pick your own and are non GMO based. They aren't sprayed with pesticides and are able to be eaten off the vine. They had some of the largest strawberries I've ever seen (outside of the genetically modified ones you may get from the stores). They have tons of rows of strawberries to pick from, and there is rarely a chance to find any rows that are completely empty. They sell them at $3/pound, which in my eyes, is great, especially for the quality of these strawberries. This year was a little different, as they were also growing cabbage, lettuce and rhubarb. *though you couldn't pick your own, it was available inside their little cozy store* They had a great selection of hanging flowers as well and we picked one up to hang outside of our house. If you like ice cream, they have locally sourced ice cream that was amazing. my kids love eating it every time. Overall, this is definitely the best place to do 'pick your own' strawberries, and definitely worth the drive.

The Saturday open market is dog friendly. Vendors vary. It's a good size, not overwhelming, but provides ample products. There was live music and a variety of local items for sale. I purchased turnips, tomatoes, and loose-leaf tea. Each of the vendors we interacted with were friendly and sold their products at reasonable prices.

I forget what they're called during the stage in between, but having samples them for myself, I'll just call them perfect. =) I'll definitely be making a trip down there next summer for another half bushel.

However, there was a ton of live plants and truckloads of fresh vegetables for sale. Couple that with gourmet cheeses and baked and canned goods and you have a situation you could spend a lot of money on. As a snack, we bought a jalapeño cheese roll which was very good. You could definitely do some wallet damage here. I'd like to see this place on a weekend. My one criticism are the produce prices. $3.99/lb for slicing tomatoes and $12 for a watermelon. Other produce is equally expensive. This is rather boujee pricing and it's obvious they aren't targeting the average consumer. I love supporting local farmers but prices like this make it difficult. Come and check it out for yourself. It really is a sight to see and you could spend a whole morning or afternoon here. But guard your wallet. It would be easy to get carried away here.

Even with the cloudy weather, there was plenty going on and so many different things to choose from. There were independent vendors selling everything from coffee, lemonade, kettle corn, pork rinds, pastries, flowers, candles, mushrooms, handmade soaps, dairy products, meats, essential oils, and more. There were also plenty of seasonal items like mums, pumpkins, tomatoes, and lots of apples to choose from. I almost talked myself into buying some mums and some handpicked flowers, but I couldn't commit this time. There were just too many vendors to choose from! Of course, I did leave with a few things. I grabbed some tomatoes, coffee, and lemonade. I also stopped by Las Mas Empanadas and got three empanadas: spinach and cheese, onion and cheese, and caprese. I had a great conversation with the owner, who was super nice and welcoming. I also talked with the owner of Hook & Ladder and loved hearing his story. He was incredibly friendly and it was nice getting to know a little more about the person behind the business. Another vendor that caught my attention was Bonjour Y'all. I spoke with the baker behind the stall and found out that he actually studied under the owner of Breakfast in Paris here in Greensboro, which immediately made me want to try his pastries. I love Breakfast in Paris, so I was excited to give his treats a try. I picked up an apple pastry and a cinnamon roll, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying more from him. There are also several vendors that seem to have permanent or more permanent spots inside the covered/enclosed area. There's even an ice cream shop that also sells coffee, which is a fun bonus. The market is really easy to navigate, with parking on both sides, sidewalks, accessible bathrooms, and an ATM on site. It's handicap accessible and very wagon-friendly, so bringing a little one along is no problem. Most vendors accept both cash and cards. Everyone I interacted with was super friendly, and I really enjoyed being able to actually talk to the people behind the businesses and hear their stories. There's a great mix of food, produce, baked goods, flowers, handmade products, and local businesses. Overall, it's a great Saturday stop whether you're looking to grab breakfast or coffee, shop for fresh produce, pick up some seasonal items, discover local vendors, or just walk around and see what catches your eye. I definitely left with more than I planned to, and I'm already looking forward to going back and trying some of the vendors I didn't get to this time.

I had recently moved to Asheboro and soon realized there are no solid farmers markets here and in my research located RGSPTFM. When I took the turn into the grounds, I was quickly impressed. They have a section for flowers and plants, a section for outdoor decor and gardening supplies, a section for crafts and such, a FOOD TRUCK section, and of course 2 large areas for produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, fresh floral arrangements, local honey, fresh eggs and so much more. It's so much fun to head out on a Saturday morning and walk through all of the sections. Lots of friendly vendors selling their wares and lots of people watching if you are into that. I come for the meats, produce, and homemade baked goods and have yet to be disappointed. So bring your shopping bags, wear your comfortable shoes and head on over for a wholesome weekend experience I highly recommend!
