The others in his office follow his lead and round out the good experience patients have at Dr. Burton's office (I have seen times when he has had a hard time getting patients to leave!). Unlike so many doctors of all types, he gets to know his patients to the extent they want and remembers when they tell him about things like a big trip they have booked. Also unlike so many he has a very broad working knowledge beyond his professional expertise in the dental field and that shows conversationally. As a result of his comprehensive response to the pandemic and detailed effort to keep his patients safe, even in these trying times seeing a dental appointment on my calendar means I will have a good experience coming up. Dr. Jeffrey Harrison and Dr. Suzanne Gendel have both worked on my teeth (and addressed my fairly complex dental problems), and I have greatly benefitted from their expert care and deep and broad knowledge of their field. I've had everything from simple fillings to crowns to extractions and implants (implant surgery is performed by Dr. Harrison, who heads the practice), and I trust them and their chairside staff completely. They explain everything--including all my options--and do so in layman's terms and with patience, welcoming all my questions and addressing my concerns, including about costs. I've never once felt that I was simply another patient in their large and successful practice; I'm always welcomed (by name) and treated as though I were the only patient they were seeing that day. On top of all that, both these dentists are extremely conscious of my comfort level when in their chair, and I have never once felt any pain as they worked on my teeth. Even the (lengthy) implant process was surprisingly pain-free and easy. Dr. Harrison and Dr. Gendel also give very specific instructions following any procedure more complicated than a filling, and their kind, courteous, and well-informed office staff call me the next day to see how I'm doing. Believe it or not, I actually look forward to going to the dentist now that I've found this practice. I highly recommend this practice and never hesitate to tell friends about it. These are without a doubt the best dentists I've ever had--and I've had MANY over my seven decades of life!

My whole family has been regular patients in this place. Recently, we received a very rude reminder about dental cleaning and a threatening message that if we don't schedule our last cleaning for the fiscal year, our account will be deactivated! What is that supposed to mean? I don't understand what kind of business this place is running if they think these kind of messages are going to bring more clients?! Quite the opposite! It is unheard of hygiene appointments to be required so patients can keep their account active! Usually, dental facilities and private offices send friendly reminders for the patients to take advantage of a covered by insurance dental cleaning since there are only 2 per year. The manager needs to really apologize to all patients who received this kind of unpleasant email or text message as this is really unprofessional and totally unacceptable! After all, there are at least 30 other dental offices in the areas near by Newton Corner, Watertown, Brighton and Waltham. This kind of treatment of the patients would completely drive them away! I was told by my former dentist (who I had to discontinue seeing due to my insurance coverage) that I had receding gum lines & needed surgery on multiple teeth. When I stated this to Dr. Maddahi, he said he would follow up with me in regards to scheduling this service. I never heard back from the office, nor did Dr. Maddahi even seem to recognize this issue with my teeth after examining my mouth & the x-rays that were taken.

She gave me 6 Veneers on my front teeth to correct my peg teeth, and I never thought I would ever smile confidently in my life until I got them. I've had multiple fillings and cleanings, and my sister has had many root canals with them, and my dad getting almost every dental procedure possible from them. The receptionist, Lisa, is incredibly accommodating and tries her best to get you the attention and help you need, especially when dealing with insurance companies. The office itself is quaint and comforting. I've been to some terrible dentists in my life, and I'm honestly terrified of what to do if Dr. Novak ever retires!!

So I did it and after that-- I never stopped feeling discomfort and pain. When I went back for a cleaning I reported my tooth was still hurting and was scheduled to re do that filling. I went back a THIRD time-- explained that there seems to be something chipped and was told she saw an infection in the x-ray and that I needed a root canal (not covered by insurance)... I couldn't believe it. So, I went to AN ENDODONTIST-- paid out of pocket and was told that based on a thorough evaluation and x-rays, I did not need a root canal. I then went to another dentist and they too said, "there is no infection". Please get a second opinion before you agree to anything this doctor recommends. Two stars--- because the Dental Hygenist that cleaned my teeth was EXCELLENT!

From my very first visit, I was surprised at how little time the dentist spent with me. That only got worse over time. One filling turned into the most painful, drawn-out dental procedure I've ever had--and it wasn't even a complex one. I also raised concerns about teeth grinding and shifting, and was completely dismissed without any real discussion. I left that appointment feeling brushed off and unheard. Scheduling was another major issue. They couldn't accommodate a standard six-month cleaning schedule, booked me eight months out, and when I asked to be put on a cancellation list, they never followed up. Then they canceled on me two days before my appointment. At that point, I gave up. It's clear there are some kind and well-meaning people on staff, but my experience with the dentist and overall care was disappointing and, frankly, frustrating. I'm moving on to a new provider.

From the moment I walked in the front door the staff at the front desk made me feel calm and relaxed. I met Dr. Mason and Phil and my fear subsided immediately. He extracted a molar in February of last year I had absolutely no pain and it was a wonderful experience. Since then Concord Dental and Dr. Mason are my go to place! I am now on a regular schedule of cleanings and meeting with Dr. Mason to fix all the problems I currently have. He extracted two extremely bad teeth just two weeks ago and once again, there was no pain with the needle to numb me and no pain in the extraction site.I saw him today and he put in 4 beautiful fillings and my smile looks wonderful again!!
