This is in response to I assume the 'business owner' as its listed on Class Pass that made an assumption about my HONEST feedback on Class Pass after a few classes. First, giving MY opinion on instructors I have taken that YOU hired is not being a Cyber bully. I think you should look up the definition before you use words. I clearly stated, and will state again that yes, I had a favorite instructor, Jenna, who is no longer with the team. I am all for experiencing new instructors as long as they know how to guide positions properly. I believe you should take a look at your cameras during the days I made comments to see how CLEAR instructions were NOT given and people were lost. So while you may stand by your new instructors, as you should, you should also make sure to listen to clients feedback instead of replying with responses that make no sense. NOTE: The 'business owner' states I shouldn't come back due to giving my opinion. Not to worry, due to the other instructors not being my cup of tea, as also nicely mentioned, I have already planned on never going back ...but with that type of response, thank you for showing me what type of management your company has as a whole as now I know I am making a great choice on where I spend my time and MONEY. read more

Took my first two classes this past week. The first class with Morgan was incredible. Even though it was a full class and my first time in this space I felt seen and taken care of. First time here! I booked off of Classpass and had no issues. Parking was street only but because I was here on a Tuesday morning, it was pretty easy! Residential and metered parking available. I had no issues finding the studio. Sign in was also very fast and easy. I booked fire and light reformer with Alexa and she was great! Avoid the teacher training program here at all costs! Quite frankly Karen Lord's narcissism and unhinged behavior have gone unchecked for far too long. The only good thing that came out of spending nearly $5,000 to be tortured by her and her cronies was the fabulous group of women I trauma bonded with. First of all: Karen barely graced us with her presence. When she was around it was an absolute nightmare. She often went on unhinged tangents or would only look at her instagram. So incredibly rude and distracting. This studio thrives on mean girl energy driven by Karen Lord herself. The $4,000 program fee is a total lie. KLPM is not upfront about their "pre requisites" which is one of their many shameless money grabs throughout this program. In addition to the tuition, you are REQUIRED to do 3 private sessions at $130 an hour plus 10 group classes. None of this is clearly outlined until you start the program. (They are so desperate to enroll people they don't clarify any of this beforehand and in some cases promise to waive the pre-requisites than cancels those promises which is so distasteful). The course "rubric" claimed to include sequencing, music, anatomy and pre + post natal information. We never went over any of this information! In terms of content this teacher training program was an absolute joke. We did zero anatomy. ZERO ANATOMY. We spent more time having to listen to Karen sing her own praises than learning any content related to the human body. All of us who moved into Pilates teaching after this program have spent so much time educating ourselves to make sure we are capable instructors. The administration of this studio is so terrible. In what has emerged as a clear pattern with Karen Lord, she is in business with someone she is romantically involved with and it is so messy to the detriment of the studio and everyone involved. Mike, who is her undefined partner, is the studio administrator and may the odds be ever in your favor dealing with him. Anyone who misses the many hours of the program is forced to pay the private hour fee $130 to "make up" the missed time and it is just reading through their disastrous teacher training "manual." In addition to sacrificing all of your weekends for the teacher training program, trainees must commit an additional 30 hours a week to self practice and practice teaching. There is zero flexibility with the deadlines which I have never dealt with in my other teacher training courses. The focus with KLPM teacher training seems to be focused on indoctrinating people to her cult of crazy. The lack of structure in this program meant we often were unattended during official training hours while the "leadership" at their food deliveries and instagrammed. The hypocrisy of making us throw out our food and drinks during the training while we watched them eat and drink to their own contentment was agonizing. It makes no sense that we were forbidden to eat while Karen crumbled Erewhon eggs to her ailing senior dog leaving our already dirty training room floor riddled with even more crumbs. A huge point of contention for me was the lack of learning and growth that I expected from this program. As a trainee, we endure so much stress and pressure to perform and ace our final reformer test outs. It is unconscionable they never gave us an ounce of feedback. Furthermore, they failed students and charged them to retake their tests. The money grabbing with this place never ends- as evidenced by their refusal to offer filtered water refills. As a continuitation of the mean girl bullying and exclusivity they try to lure trainees into continuing their torture with mentorship. However they say it is "invitation only" and randomly choose participants who had to pay for sessions that failed them yet again. This last round of their "mentorship" program completely dissolved due to their own incompetence. Do a training anywhere else! Karen Lord and her staff do not deserve your money and time. read more

The first class I took was great with them. I wanted to check them out a second time and I was running a little behind . I got stuck in a construction that put me behind one minute past ten minutes . I called beforehand to let them know the situation. And even when I got there, they would not let me in. I would think that at least one minute after 10 minutes it would be OK to let me in, but they did not so I pretty much drove for no reason. I don't see myself coming back. read more

LOVED LOVED LOVED! I just moved from the area and had been searching for my new Pilates spot. I've tried The Studio (MDR) and didn't like instruction or music for a beginner class, and was discouraged. But after seeing the rave reviews on KLP decided to give it a shot and really enjoyed it. I tried the Every Body Reformer with Jordie and she explained everything so well! The music was chill and actually kind of relaxing. The women in the class ranged from advanced to beginners and she gave modifications. The time flew by, excited to try to Power Reformer! read more

EVERY time I walk in, I'm greeted with warm enthusiasm and often, Gabby's pale blue eyes! When I first started here, I asked the instructor a host of questions after class. She was patient and informative and kind. As we were talking, I realized that the instructor was the Karen Lord herself! Karen's such a sweet person and so are her instructors and staff members. The instructors support you wherever you are on your fitness journey. They also help you perfect your form and posture when using the equipment which is critical to building strength and protecting against injuries. Love it here! read more

Great workout and strong Pilates. Many of us were new and had to take the back row. There were only a few in the front row so it made it hard to see exactly what was going on for some. One gal next to me had been to class before, the other didn't seem like she could keep up. It's a power style of class and def burns in a good way. With each count, reminders of form were stated, which was nice. I think the counting is part of the style. I had the pleasure to take a class from Karen, the owner of course. She spent a couple of minutes going over the rules of the class, which seemed very important to them to do it all at once. I thought some of the counting was too fast where the springs had to release without tension, which you then don't use as much muscle. Or, others just didn't follow the counts on purpose. If you are looking for a workout, come here. It has traditional style movement, but if you have never taken a class before, start at the beginner classes. I will def be back. read more

I love that the choreography generally tends to be intense and challenging while keeping the integrity of Pilates - precision, control, balance and breathing. This place is awful, avoid at all costs. I cancelled my membership here 2 months ago. I got an email "confirmation" that it was cancelled from their staff members and yet have continued to be charged for the past two months since. Not only that, the owner and receptionists are extremely rude and unprofessional. Terrible experience with people who do bad business. I love this place. I always walk out feeling accomplished and can definitely feel the difference. I've tried other reformer pilates studios as I recently moved further away (was 5 min drive, now 15-20 min) but it's totally worth the drive because of their consistency in the classes they offer and their instructors. Each instructor is awesome (Karen Jisun Olivia Siobhan Gabriela), they each have a high level of expertise and can advise/describe the next movement with clarity so that it's not confusing. Also their playlist is on point - I would totally put together a similar playlist. Studio and machines are clean and the energy is just right! read more

I had a really horrible experience at this Pilates studio. I left in the first 10 minutes of class in tears. The instructor (I believe was also owner) was mean, belittling, and rude. At the beginning of class, I forgot to mention I had knee pain. She also failed to ask if anyone had any injuries. I asked for a modification and she not only singled me out and yelled at me for not sharing my injury prior to class, but told me to wait until she was done in order to address me. I had just lost my grandmother and needed a workout to get my mind of things, but left this place in tears. Worst experience I've ever had at any Pilates studio. read more

I found out about this studio through a friend and I'm glad I tried it -- After my first class I was already hooked and have now purchased an 8 class monthly membership. My favorite class is Love & Pilates with Karen herself. I like the pace of it and am definitely starting to see my core finally get stronger. The studio is very clean and staff are friendly. There's lots of bike racks outside and parking on the street has never been an issue for me. I'm very happy to have joined this studio; besides getting a great workout in its also been very nice to meet a lot of other Venice locals that love Karen Lord Pilates just as much as I do and see them around our community. read more

So clean and the instructors are very hands on. The class is smooth and flows very well. My only con is that if you get there too early you basically wait outside until the class is done. I absolutely love this studio, however, the music has been the same for months. I take class frequently and the playlist never changes. The workout is SO good but I am truly begging for variety in the playlist, if music changed I would consider taking class more but I cannot imagine hearing it any more than I already do. This studio is amazing. I had enjoyed every single class I have taken here. I had always wondered about this studio as I drive by it all the time. I wish I took class here sooner! I have only been coming here a month but I am addicted. The studio is clean and open. The front desk is always welcoming. I have taken classes with Karen, Jesus, Nike and Olivia; and they are all amazing and so encouraging. The instruction and pacing of the classes are on-point! I like the variety of classes offered as well. The machines and other equipment are in great condition. My only wish is...adding a Friday late afternoon class? :) 3pm/4pm would be awesome! Karen Lord and her team are just fantastic. The classes are varied depending what you prefer; a more classical pliates style class with Karen or a pumped up new twist on pilates with Jisun. I do not live in LA, but worked with Karen virtually during the pandemic. Working out with her in Santa Monica was a treat, and the class on Monday in Venice was great as well.
