I love Solidcore!! I've taken 70 classes so far and enjoy it every time!! It's such a fun workout that is very challenging but I have definitely noticed results! I love all the instructors, they are so nice and they do such a good job with the flow of the class and are always willing to answer questions and help you out. Every instructor has been great and I really appreciate when they learn your names. The studio has free parking with validation that is very easy to find spots. There are 2 bathrooms with some amenities and lockers available. The front desk crew is also always nice. This is definitely an expensive membership $236/month for 12 classes but totally worth it. I recommend getting there early so you can stretch, check in, use the bathroom, and get ready for class. read more

The classes and coaches are amazing. For first timers, I'd recommend doing at least 5 intro classes before doing the regular classes because it's dark, loud and scary and the first time I went, I did a regular classes and I was super discouraged. Then I did prolly 10 intro classes before I got the confidence and understanding to do the regular ones, and now I'm at 146 classes. I love it because the class is so intense, it forces you to lock in and shut your whole brain off. And you're working out muscles you've never thought of or would know how to exercise alone at the gym - so it's great for people who know nothing. I haven't been this in shape this great high school. There are locations everywhere and it's really convenient. I will say, the studio itself has been a bit janky as of late. One (out of the two) bathrooms is often out of service and same with the water station. And then there's no alternative for folks who didn't bring a full water bottle with them, which feels illegal for a place that's for working out to not have water. And the air conditioning must be broken because there is currently a massive contraption blowing air and it throws off the vibe in the class. Fun class that I booked through ClassPass. The directions in Google maps were a bit confusing as it took you to the back of the studio, but eventually I figured it out. Street parking or garage is available. It said that you need an app to open the door but it didn't work - someone did let us in. There is a bathroom with some products but no shower available. The workout I took focused on upper body and core - the instructor gave us pointers throughout the class but it was definitely challenging for just beginners. You can take the class barefoot or with grip socks. There are lockers available to put your things away but no locks. read more

Think weight training on a pilates mega reformer. I love going to studios where I feel at home and at Solidcore, that's exactly what you get. The studios are all super clean with easy access and parking too (which is key in LA). While classes are expensive, they kick your butt and are always fun. Instructors here actually care to make sure you're doing things right and come to help with adjustments when they see you're out of wack as well. I absolutely loved going to [solidcore]. I tried this pilates studio for the first time and noticed it was a good place for beginners and avid pilates members. They have several locations in the West Los Angeles area. This locations is near downtown Culver City by the metro and Warner Bros. offices. Parking is free for 90 minutes in the structure with parking validation. To enter the building, you need a code that is on the app. It's for safety reasons (& because no one sits at the front desk to let you in). There are two rows of megaformer machines. Your instructor will guide you throughout your 50 minute workout and let you know which color springs to use. My instructor, Jeff, was great! They'll call you out throughout the class because they get to know each individual. The workout is pumping and you'll feel the shakes and sweat. I thought a different location would help, but it didn't. The sequencing at solidcore is dangerous, I don't even understand how they're still in business. Also, awful music that blasts in your ears during these streneous sequences is distracting from the workout itself. These boujee, trend based studios are the worst. Do not waste money here. ClassPass girlie here. This is an excellent workout! And I lucked out and got a good instructor (Kristine) on my first visit. The front desk girl mentioned the instructor was an OG and had been teaching for a while. The darker lights and music was a bit intimidating at first, but it helped me focus on myself. I was sweating and definitely felt the shakes. The instructor was also able to correct my form as needed. If you've done a lagree style class before, you'll be fine on the machine. If you've only done traditional pilates on the reformer, then you will probably want to do the beginner class first. Overall a nice studio. Validated free parking. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of lockers. It's just on the pricey side for my budget (15 credits, so about $31 equivalent with the CP plan I have). There's a nearby studio with a similar style of workout for about 10 credits a class, so I probably won't be a regular here unfortunately. read more

I have been to this studio a handful of times now over the summer, and I am hooked. Each workout is intense-- and I consider myself a somewhat fit person. I love how you can customize each move to your level by modifying or amplifying. The instructors are extremely well trained in how they call out instructions and are very motivating. The instructors also aim to learn your name so they will refer to you during class, which keeps you more accountable! They validate parking for up to 75 min which is a huge perk as well. There are two restrooms that are well kept; no showers. There are also lockers and a water dispenser. I will definitely keep coming back to augment my other fitness routines! read more

I've taken classes here five or six times now. All of the trainers are great, but Kriz is my favorite. She brings high energy and makes class fun, especially with her fun question for the start of each class. I was skeptical taking a class here initially since I'm so out of shape, but it really motivates me to push through and she keeps everyone on their toes (sometimes quite literally). I always end up hurting, in a good way, after each class, with my body shaking, but feel so accomplished afterwards! I usually take the morning classes and they're not completely full. Parking is easy since there's an underground structure and they validate, which ends up making it free. There's also a coffee shop next door if you need some caffeine before or after class. I've had to take a little break since the pricing is a bit much for me but I really enjoy solid core and have taken classes at other gyms around the country when I'm working. This studio has the highest price I've come across, but it is LA, so that's a given. It's still totally worth it! read more

[solidcore] is as intense as it gets. First time I was brought by a friend and I was hooked so I signed up for a membership. It is a bit pricey but it's totally worth the $$ because you get such a challenging full body workout from really great instructors. I love how the lights are dimmed and the music is loud so that you're not so worried about how you may look in the mirror haha. It's a super efficient way to get a 1hr workout in and you are totally sweating bullets by the end of it. Great workout but not for me- I prefer to zone out when I'm working out and that was hard to do with the instructor constantly talking and giving cues. PROS: - Clean - Friendly and helpful front desk staff - Safe (you need to enter a code to get in the studio) - Knowledgeable and friendly instructor - Great workout - I was sore for days after (or maybe I'm just out of shape lol) CONS - Instructor talks over the music the whole class time. (I completely understand that she's giving instructions but I got a slight headache and was disappointed I wasn't able to hear the music for the Wake and Drake class I signed up for) - Expensive - I think it was ~13 Classpass credits which is about $30. I came here a couple of times when this location first opened and recently started coming more consistently. This workout is very similar to Lagree Pilates with different names basically. The machine also feels slightly less steady, which makes some of the lunges more challenging in terms of stabilizing. The schedule outlines what specific muscle groups will be worked that day. Center core and obliques are every class, but different muscles groups for upper and lower body are focused on each day. I like that you can plan accordingly. The instructors give you queues for your level. There are always ways to make the moves more challenging or more approachable. Everyone I've taken has been high energy and great at communicating. Full Review: This is 1st time that I've been to a Solidcore, so this is my thoughts as a newbie. It's super quick, but the hardest part for me was understanding the instructor because the instructor spends up to 1 or less minute per exercise, and she might explain things once or twice. It's super hard to understand everything that she says and also associate it with the machine. This should become more easier as you become more familiar with the machine and also the instruction style though so I wouldn't worry too much. For example, she would be like "keep your abs tight 10 make sure you fully extend 8 knees on black bench 6" The number that she says are the seconds that you have left. NOT reps. Reps are usually up to you and how many that you can complete in the time frame of 30 or so seconds? It can also get confusing because in the beginning of the exercise, she might be coaching someone but towards the end of the exercise, she will be describing the next exercise. Overall, I had a good experience since the coach was super encouraging. She'll tell you that you're killing it and say stuff like, you have 10 seconds left, what are you going to do with it?! Literally worst ClassPass experience I have ever had. I was unable to find the location. Very confusing- no sign name only parentheses. Then when I got there I had to DOWNLOAD AN APP to open the door. There is no service here. It took 10 minutes to download. Meanwhile I'm outside in the POURING RAIN! Please tell customers they need to download an app to enter and send actual directions. Solidcore should have emailed me as a new client with this information as soon as I booked the class. Solidcore is my favorite workout class! They really target the areas the say and it is high intensity without feeling like you're just running around for cardio. Every class I feel like I come out stronger, more balanced, and more flexible. Hoping they will open one up in the bay soon! As far as parking goes they validate for the parking garage below and they have a door code if you come a little late. It would be nice if they had a full locker room with a shower though. I arrived super early and she let me change, showed me around and gave me a great run down. She was really hands on with helping me as this was my first time on the reformer! This review has nothing to do with the instructors at solidcore - they are PHENOMENAL. This review is solely due to the front desk management and safety risks of this location. I have had increased issues with this location due not being able to access the studio because no one is at the front desk to let guests in and the door code is only accessible 15 mins before class. I have waited outside until my door code works and harassed by vagrants passing by in front of the studio. I don't feel safe waiting outside this location. When I raised this concern about the door code I was told it was for the safety of the studio - what about the safety of your members who can't access the lobby?? Additionally, the app has been glitching and if you are on the wait list you aren't automatically added to the class. I also brought this up to the studio and basically I was told I need to show up to see if I get in. This is not realistic with culver traffic. Again, Solidcore changed my life and I love the instructors and the class itself, but these are big issues that a lot of members are dealing with, which makes it increasingly more difficult to stay a member. read more
