Got the devil's food double chocolate cake, it was really really good and very soft, moist inside and perfectly crisp with a crunch texture outside. It is hard to find a satisfying and amazing doughnut shop and this place is highly recommended. The young Asian lady that works there 7 days a week is really nice, friendly, very attentive, fast and greets all customers with a very warm welcome. Definitely will come back. The over charge double check they don't tell you the just charge you more for a dozen donuts. They only accept cash and over charge on the ATM. I would stay away misleading and ripping you off. Why don't they tell you they're charger extra for every donut. read more

One of them, donut lover, she kept on asking me where I bought them because it's sooooo good compare to another place's donuts. Stopped here by chance because of donut cravings on a road trip. Pointed out 3 donuts I wanted and took my bag without looking inside. After I was back on the road I found that 2 of the 3 were not the donuts I asked for! What I got were small greasy and very sweet. I didn't eat them. I took the last one out of the bag. It was supposed to be a cream filled "Boston cream" donut. It was instead a powdered donut full of vanilla frosting! Not cream, a cake FROSTING sickly sweet and not edible at all. This experiences as cured my donut cravings for sure! Terrible. read more

I gave them 1 stars because their donuts are good but the lady that works there is RUDE AF. Then it's cash only, should have that posted on door so you know before you walk in. Then they say well we have an atm machine, where you now have to pay a 1.75 transaction fee. read more

Karen's used to be a regular weekly stop . In the past I've always went to Karen's for couple dozen donuts for staff. In the past couple years I've been a customer at Karen's. Unfortunately a couple weeks ago we stop by Karen's on a Wednesday morning and the owner was there as usual we bought some individual Donuts . We also purchased a ham and cheese croissant ended up being about $15 for the individual donuts and croissants. No big deal we also left her a tip. I had one of my 32oz thermos I asked the owner if I could get some ice in My Cup she said that would be $0.50 she said because I have to pay for the electricity. HUH I said I brought my own cup we just spent $15 in Donuts can I just get some ice. My spouse left the tip and after we left I was so shocked but her treating us this way I should have said take it out of the tip we left you. Unfortunately she was very rude and said no you don't pay you get no ice. She then walked away mumbling under her breath to the back area. I cannot believe she would treat us like this for a cup of ice. Karen's Donuts are good too bad I will never purchase another donut for my staff friends family from Karen's donuts. What the heck lady really am I missing something here? This is the way you treat regular customers ? read more

Was pretty disappointed by the appearance of the donuts here. They looked pretty sloppily made like something you would find at 7-11 or something and this was early early in the morning when they were fresh and should of been at there best. So I didn't even bother eating one. If I'm gonna eat something bad for me it better look delicious. But my wife and kid each ate one and seemed to like it and said it tasted good. So might try again in the future and hopefully the appearance is better. read more

Went there for the first time today, read the reviews and was in need of a good donut while I was in the area. I had hoped to find a great donut, but instead I just found an ok donut. The french Curlers looked great and are often hard to find, but they were a bit too greasy for my taste as was the apple fritter my hubby wanted. The cake donut I tasted was a lot better. Great selection and pretty quick service but I won't go out of my way to stop there. That being said, they have a great steady stream of customers so I am sure I won't be missed. read more

I've been a customer of Karen's Donuts for many years. I have tolerated the horrible customer service because the donuts are best in my immediate area, and their shop is very near my house. But I am a customer no longer. I always get the same exact donuts, and Karen knows what my order is. Last week, she gave me the wrong donut, but I didn't realize this until I got to work. She gave me a maple bar. I hate maple bars. I gave it to a secretary. The next day when I went in, I very kindly let her know that she gave me the wrong donut. She challenged me as if I was lying! And offered no apology or refund or discount on my donut that day. I paid her, and then I got snippy and said, "You're going to charge me for a donut I didn't order?" She mumbled under her breath, and then very sarcastically said, "fine". She gave me my money back. I really wanted that to be my last day as a customer, but I had yet to find a replacement establishment. In the last 5 days, while I am standing in line, she has TWICE offered a FREE donut to the person right in front of me. I KNOW she did it on purpose, to spite me in some warped sense. She is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I helped pay for her Lexus. The least she could do is be polite, say thank you for your business, and "I'm sorry" when she makes a mistake. I will now be driving out of the way to go to Jenny's Donuts, which I hear has FABULOUS customer service. read more

Donuts are very soft and fresh and Omg they have a vanilla cream filled donut. This is the only place I have found other than Dunkin Donuts that has a vanilla cream filled donut. The prices are really good and the donuts are fresh with a great variety. read more

Lovely doughnuts. I've sampled quite a few of the local doughnut shops, and some of them have good days. But Karen's is consistently outstanding. The doughnuts look pretty much the same as the other shops but they are never greasy here. They are soft, fresh, and yummy. Bring cash. read more

This is the best Donut place by far, this gem of a place offers a great selection of donuts and other rid bits and coffee, the owner is extremely friendly and courteous. These are the best donuts we've had! Bring some cash, because they don't take credit cards, but it's completely worth it. The price was reasonable too - $7.50 for a dozen. Karen went above and beyond to make my wedding day special, boxing up all of our donuts, for party favors. They were certainly the hit of the party, and I can't say thank you enough. Karen and her husband are very polite and even after 5 years remembered who I was! It has really good donuts (donut holes a fav) and great smoothies with lots of flavors to chose from. This is so sad. You've heard it before, "Its not you start your business but its how you handle the years to come to maintain a healthy business. I'be been going to Karen's for about 20 years now but have reduced my purchases within the last year. When you have a neighborhood business you need to be friendly and consistent with your services to your neighborhood. Times are getting tougher and tougher with the increase in $$ to towards the making of your product. Everyone understands inflation. Businesses need to survive to stay in business and people adjust. Donuts keep getting smaller and smaller and prices go up, however as long as people have eyes to see, they just don't like seeing the donut shrink. Why not increase the price and keep the donut the same size. This morning I was .05 short and Karen was not willing to let me go without collecting the .05. This wonderful Post Man was there and took out a .05 and gave it to Karen for me before I could get my wallet out and give Karen more money. Its a blessing when people like the Post Man has a heart to give. Of course all praise goes to Jesus. I told my wife about what had happened and she told me that she was .02 short and Karen would not let her go without paying the .02. I remember the days when Karen with just say, Its OK. There were lots of OK's when I made my purchases in the last 20 years or so. But people change and times change. Please note: Its not the money, its the condition of the heart of the people. Our trust should never be in the money when its comes to a neighborhood business. Oh well. I do hope that they succeed and take inventory of how they treat the neighborhood.
