When those went bust loooong ago, the city went downhill. This is the only mall in the area, and when you have a population without a lot of money, you get stores, or a lack thereof, to match. Well, there were 4 anchor stores here: Belks, Sears, JC Penny, and Dunhams Spirts. Sears and JC penny are gone. The "food court" has a Chinese food place and a cookie place. Elsewhere, there's a Chick-fil-A and a pretzel joint. The majority of the stores are gone. However, the mall is not run down or dirty. It's clean, well lit, and inviting. With the new Cesar's casino in Danville, expect some major changes to happen to this mall.

Came in here on a weekday and I can count the people that were shopping. People also come here to walk for exercise. They have the right idea. No people to bump into and disrupt your exercise! Then the associate told me that she gonna see what options the system give, when she scan the receipt I told her one more time I really don't have the credit card, this item was somebody else bought for me, if she could I'd like to have a store gift card, this was the second time I told her, the AM was there too. But the associate did the return and told me it gonna go back to that credit card. Then receipt print it out, then I told that AM third time I really did not have that card and I asked her if she could void this rerun transaction. The really really worst shopping experience start, that AM was extremely mad as hell and rude, she was trying to void that transaction and I can really hear she was huffing and puffing all the time. I did not do anything wrong and I really don't know why she get mad. After a while she told me that she can not void the return transaction but I could go find something exchange. Then I looked around in the store and found a Apple Watch band and a home camera, but when get in the line check out and they told me I can not exchange either. Then that AM was walking away and that associate keep explain to me but she can not do anything either. I asked her if she could call customer service number and see if they could void transacting in their end and mail me a gift card. Because I swear to god, I really don't have that credit card. That associate called that AM again over the phone, but it really took long time and she come to the front, she was really mad and shouting to me all the time instead help me find some number I can call or help me. I told her one more time, I really let them both know I don't have the card twice before they processing return. After she return she told me I can find something exchange , when I find something exchange and she told me I can not exchange. At last I told her I have to take that air flyer back and she was shouting to me that if I dare take it back, she gonna call somebody get me. I also asked them the contact way of store manager or DM email, that associate told me they did not have store manager right now and they both did not give me the contact information of DM either. That AM really can not help me at all and extremely rude and even can not get anybody or any number could help me. I feel really bad that this is not right. We asked if it could be brought to the ground so my wife and I could look at it. You wanted to see the inside of the wagon before we made the purchase since it cost $500. A few people contacted a manager. When she arrived we explained to her we like to see it before purchasing it since it was a good amount of money and we could not see inside the wagon. She said no that was not allowed. Well of course we didn't make the purchase and left. Additionally the food court has been out of food often and the soda machines continue to be empty or in disrepair plus always messy. You still go here for large purchases and to use the pharmacy but overall the stories just not really that great and seems to be going down.

I have to say I truly enjoyed the new upgrades to the checking out process here. They have check yourself scan and go and also no line at the exit to have your slip checked which I always got a little pissed off and indignant about. Sometimes I just pushed past it and figured if they wanted to follow me to the car so be it my time is valuable and I don't typically wait in lines! So two thumbs up to you Sam's for improving your process. Thus store us neat and tidy and well organized.
