I'm updating this review based on my last few visits. The last visit was really the most annoying. There was a wagon for pulling children up on a shelf assembled and on display. We asked if it could be brought to the ground so my wife and I could look at it. You wanted to see the inside of the wagon before we made the purchase since it cost $500. A few people contacted a manager. When she arrived we explained to her we like to see it before purchasing it since it was a good amount of money and we could not see inside the wagon. She said no that was not allowed. Well of course we didn't make the purchase and left. Additionally the food court has been out of food often and the soda machines continue to be empty or in disrepair plus always messy. You still go here for large purchases and to use the pharmacy but overall the stories just not really that great and seems to be going down. read more

I used to be a big Sam's club shopper but I just don't find them as economical as they once were however I still do enjoy going sometimes and coming home with some new things. I have to say I truly enjoyed the new upgrades to the checking out process here. They have check yourself scan and go and also no line at the exit to have your slip checked which I always got a little pissed off and indignant about. Sometimes I just pushed past it and figured if they wanted to follow me to the car so be it my time is valuable and I don't typically wait in lines! So two thumbs up to you Sam's for improving your process. Thus store us neat and tidy and well organized. read more

I've been to several Sam's but hands down, this is the best one in my opinion. There's plenty of parking spaces available, which is nice. The parking lot is also clean at all times. The greeters are friendly and polite. The other employees are also friendly and helpful. Several actually became our friends! Lol The aisles are big and clean. It's never crowded and I find it relaxing walking through them. It's also nice that we know where everything's located by now. We use the Sam's " Shop and Go" which is awesome! We never stood in line to check out. Talk about convenience! We also get our gas here whenever we shop. The price's cheapest around VA and NC. We live in NC and only 12 miles away from VA. All in all, our experience's five stars! read more

We have had a Sam's club membership for a few years now, mostly for the savings on gas and OTC medicines. I ordered a couple of Christmas gifts for store pickup the night before Christmas Eve, and they were ready at least half and hour before the pickup time I selected. It was just as easy as ordering grocery items or household goods. This was very helpful in our Christmas shopping, and I will definitely look for gifts from Sam's club in the future! (The $4 pickup fee is a lot less than shipping I have paid when shopping online at many other websites. It's annoying to pay a fee, but theirs is affordable compared to others.) read more

We bought a flat screen tv online and paid for it to pick up in the store. It was quite larger than our current tv, so we also bought a larger cabinet for it as well. We live about 40 mins away, and my husband borrowed a special van to pick up the tv since it isn't supposed to lie flat. He was on the way to pick it up when he gets a message that our tv is out of stock. When he arrives at the store, he is told that they already sold the last one that they had in stock, and the only one available is the floor model. So they sold the TV that we paid for! They did not put it aside as they should have, but they sold it to someone else. The floor model comes with no warranty! We don't even know if it has fallen over, or been messed with. The only thing they could offer us was 10% off the next size down. 10%? That's pathetic! We discovered that there is another one in stock over an hour away. Will they ship it to us? Of course they won't! We are supposed to borrow the van again and spend another day off work trying to drive out of town to pick up a TV that was supposed to be waiting for us. The lack of customer service from the manager here is absolutely disgusting! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! read more

Sam club is good, but the food cafe workers are ratchet. They had attitude with my family, rolling her eyes and smacking her lips. She trie pay stupid like she couldn't hear. And then got rude. If it was up to me she would have got fired on the spot. They used to have good works but they haven't went and hired some hood boogers. read more

Not good at all. This is the worst Sam's Club ever. They don't carry as many products as other locations and the counter staff are just rude. Also, the gas prices are no cheaper than other local gas stations and today when I called no one answered the phone. Very poor customer service. read more

We went to the concession to buy churros for our girls, only the lady was very rude. They were out of everything we asked for and she snapped at my husband several times. My daughter said thank you and she said nothing. This was on 10/30/2020 at around 6:50pm. The cashiers name was not on the receipt however, she was rude to everyone that walked up. It was like she didn't want to be there. Just close it up if you don't have anything that is advertised for sale. But don't be rude. Is she not happy she has a job? The store in itself was fine. I don't have a problem with it overall but, she needs to work with the City of Danville on the trash pickup truck. That's how badly she treated everyone. read more

Sam's Club has really changed as far as customer service. Standing in line for an hour because I had a debit card is ridiculous. The lines that took cash or checks were empty. Employees standing around socializing and drinking mountain dew. We pay membership and deserve the same help and check out as others. I think this is poor service to customers. No stars read more

I enjoy shopping here and their products have been very good quality. They also have a decent stock of items that are hard to find elsewhere. Unfortunately the last time I was there the person checking for ID at the door was very rude. She had left her post and then returned after my wife had already entered the store ahead of me. She made me yell for my wife to return and then both of us had to exit the store and get back in line to re-enter before she would accept our ID and allow us to enter. We were both so bothered that we left and went to another brands store to shop. We will eventually try shoping here again but since this person is typically the first person you meet they should greet people nicely. The only thing that was said was "I need to see your membership card" over and over. No "Thank you", "Please", " Welcome to Sam's", "Have a good day" or anything else. Perhaps it was just a bad day. This has never happened before and I have shopped here many times. read more

It's a normal Sams Club with all the normal Sams Club items and Sams Club shoppers. Traffic is a bitch on Wendover but that's not their fault so you can't complain about the club due to traffic. I usually go to the one in Danville anyway. You can go to this one and be happy. read more

I tell you what.. the service I got from an associate at Sams was above and beyond her duties.... at least in Danville, VA. Danville is not known for the best customer service. I wished I could remember the name of the associate that helped me. She deserves 5 stars herself. I was in Sam's Club looking for Agave... they usually keep it will all the sugars. I couldn't find it... so I asked this associate... she helped me look and we still couldn't find it. I finally gave up and told her thank you for her time. I went on to the next item of my list which was all the way back in beverages. I was looking for my drinks and low and behold the same associate came up and said, "I found the Agave!!" and she proceeded to take me to the aisle she had found it on... Way to go... I just hate that I can't remember your name!! If I ever figure it out, I will make sure to call the store manager and let them know how you helped me!!!! read more

So clean, so organized! A pleasure to visit. I've seen people go there just to eat the specially priced lunches...$1.50 hotdog and soda, fruit covered frozen yogurt. Usually well stocked, with items I don't always see at other Sam's, such as Boulder Potato chips. Complaint is that they have constantly tried to classify our membership as a business membership because we own a business. However, we make no purchases for our business at this store. The biz membership ranking results in a higher rate, as opposed to a lower rate personal membership. We've called the store numerous times, and the store itself reverts our membership back to the individual membership, but when it's time to renew, it comes up again as a business level membership. read more
