The therapist had strong pressure yet very gentle and careful with my injury. My neck and shoulders are very tight she pays a lot of attention on the details. In terms of my shoulder injury, she right away elevated my shoulder to make it more comfortable. This also makes the business's emphasis on their "first 15 minutes" policy especially frustrating. I have been a customer for more than six years and had never had an experience like this. I was trying to give a therapist I had never seen before a fair opportunity to adjust after I gave her feedback, not watching the clock to make sure I exited before an arbitrary cutoff. I repeatedly communicated that the pressure was painful and asked her to adjust. My original complaint was not simply that I wanted a refund after finishing a massage I disliked. It was about a very poor experience despite my attempts to communicate, followed by a dismissive response when I brought it to the front desk. Their public response is considerably more apologetic than the response I actually received in person, but unfortunately the emphasis on what I should have done within the first 15 minutes only reinforces my disappointment with how this was handled. It's migraine combined with menopause and they got on the table and worked me over and I thought I would puke onto their shoes! In a matter of a few moments I felt relieved and just can't explain how wonderful it felt to be cured for and all the right buttons pushed to stop the migraine spin. They know their stuff! It may be a language barrier and maybe a little bit of culture barrier with regard to how one would expect a front desk to operate or and any other traditional massage or Spa area. For the money they are extremely extremely worth it and I tip them graciously because they are so severely underpriced and underappreciated. He ended up using hot stones and checking in often with amount of pressure and comfort and eventually moved onto have a really great neck, and shoulder massage. The sauna/cold plunge rooms are built for two. While the space is booked singularly, you can add on an additional person $25. This room also comes with a shower and you can even order a fancy THC beverage to lean into the experience. I personally love a cold plunge, but pairing it with a sauna was.. chefs kiss. I couldn't image a better way to start a new year. The massage was incredible as well. You can tell when someone knows the human anatomy and their expertise branch into physical therapy. I have some hip issues that had been bothering me for a while. He was able to respectfully and professionally get into that area and try to work the tightness out. Then he proceeded to give me a good, long stretch. I walked out of there with no pain. The rooms are clean, place is quiet, and tables are comfortable. I have never been shorted on time either. If we start a few minutes late they still honor the full session. The only bummer is they are not open on Sundays. They do take walk-ins but I would call ahead just in case. I have only had great experiences here. I would highly recommend stopping by. Their staff and services are very professional and prices are extremely affordable. Massage Essence is on the second floor. I used the staircase since I didn't find an elevator. The massage room is nicely decorated. The music is piped in from a wall mounted speaker. I was happy with the strength and techniques of my masseuse. The price is reasonable too, a 60 minutes signature massage was $65, cheaper than other places I have visited. Yes, I plan to be back next month.
