The secret to this place is understand the gals speak very little English but you can use Google Translate to talk Mandarin to them unless you speak it fluently. They are wonderful! Every single one of them! Rosie is the one at the front desk and she speaks the most English but still needs a little assistance. Lisa seems to be more firm deep tissue and Cece a little softer touch. I have been coming here for years and they are a treasure! I love these people! The first time I met them I was suffering from severe migraine and nausea and I explained it to them using the Google app Translate so we could speak the same language. The girls laughed smiled at each other and took me to the back room and said they knew exactly what to do. It's migraine combined with menopause and they got on the table and worked me over and I thought I would puke onto their shoes! In a matter of a few moments I felt relieved and just can't explain how wonderful it felt to be cured for and all the right buttons pushed to stop the migraine spin. They know their stuff! It may be a language barrier and maybe a little bit of culture barrier with regard to how one would expect a front desk to operate or and any other traditional massage or Spa area. For the money they are extremely extremely worth it and I tip them graciously because they are so severely underpriced and underappreciated. They are always there everyday and they know how to take care of people even if the language barrier. They understand pain and they know they know their stuff and how to fix it! I absolutely love these people! I am very heartbroken for all of the negative posts that are on here but I can assure you if you will take the time to talk with him using the translator on your iPhone or Android phone, they get it and they will help you and they are worth it and they have a very loyal following of faithful patrons like myself. I'm glad they're not super busy because I can drop everything and go there anytime and Rosie will take care of me and make sure depending on my situation I will be seen by the proper gal. But be patient with these women and be kind. They really work hard. Love this massage place! I came in for a 60-minute foot massage yesterday morning and felt relaxed for the rest of the day. I came in with 3 other people on Sunday right when they opened. They were able to see us immediately without appointments. For foot massages, they use the curtained area. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon before heading to happy hour at South Coast Plaza. Trust me, it's cheaper than spending an hour in South Coast Plaza.. obviously, I have to work on my self-control issues. I was even more surprised to hear no hai-ya's from the neighboring martial arts studio since I anticipated it from a previous review. I opted for the 55 minute foot massage for $20 and it was amazing. I really felt like the massage therapist took her time with the tension in my shoulders and I appreciated her stubbornness with some difficult knots. She most certainly earned her tip! I strongly believe massages should be a part of one's wellness routine and this location is a fantastic gem in an unsuspecting place. They speak Mandarin but having a working knowledge of English as well. I woke up with some gnarly knots and usually I'll just try to get them out myself but they were so bad I had to get them out ASAP! I found this place via Yelp, it had good reviews and was close to work so I figured why not. I called ahead just to see if they were busy and if they took credit card because none of the reviews said so, well they do so no need to worry about getting cash before you come here. Walking the place is pretty dark and noticed it was clean with no funky smells, the front part has a good amount of sofa chairs/beds where you get your foot massage and in the back they have private rooms for your massage. I opted for the 30 min back massage for $25, I was on my lunch so I couldn't stay long. The guy in the front led me to the back to a room and told me to undress and lie face down and my masseuse would be right in. When she came in the didn't say much, I told her the areas I wanted her to work on and she kind of just nodded and giggled, so there was definite language barrier. Now to the massage, usually I'm a wuss but these knots were so bad I endured the pain, she was very firm and spent a good amount of time on my problem areas and I could hear/feel the knots being broken up (gross!). She also dug her elbows into them which I've never had done before and it helped. For 30 mins it was good and she broke down my knots and I feel a bit better but they're still there, I'm sure I needed a whole hour. Clean, low lighting and polite staff minus the rude older man. I got the 30 min foot and 30 min body for $35. I've never been here before so I thought I would try it because of a bad tension headache. The "30 min foot" massage is really part foot, scalp, arms and shins. I didn't feel like my therapist excelled at this part, but for the last 30 min, you get your own private room with a massage table and THAT itself was worth it. I think that was her strong point because she really worked out my neck and back the way I needed it.
