I recently had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with Karin's Services for gutter cleaning. The team they sent to my home had to come back a second time because they did not clean the gutters on the left side of the house, and they were still willing to invoice me at the full amount of $212 when the job wasn't fully completed. Additionally, each time the team came to my property, they conducted themselves very unprofessionally and also left damages to my property and were negligent. They broke two of my gutter guards and left one on the ground and another one loose on the top of the house where I can't reach it. They left gutter debris around the house. They also pulled a gutter loose at the top of the house and there appears to be roof damage. My neighbor who runs a daycare also told me that she saw the team try to put their ladder against my north facing window and she had to tell them to move it for fear that it would break the window. The team seemed to lack the proper training and behaved in a very juvenile manner with no regard or consideration for the damages they caused. I reported this to management while also providing photographic evidence, and I received a response stating that I would still need to pay at least half of the invoice because they came out two times- even though the reason they came out a second time was because they didn't complete their job correctly the first time. All and all, I am very dissatisfied with this company and their performance. I seriously considered taking it to small claims court to receive restitution for the physical damages to my property. This company will offer you one price and then try to raise the price when they arrive. They will try to charge you 2-3x the amount that they tell you it will be. In addition, they do not do a thorough job, failing to complete the task (e.g., they did not replace all screens or adequately clean the window sills) and leaving another mess for you to clean up on your deck and in your yard. NOTE: Karin's "response" is completely false. As a courtesy to the company, I waited to review while I attempted to resolve the dispute with them. There is no "Mr. W" and the "extra work" was neither authorized nor completed. Nor did Karin's ever return to clean up the mess they made or reinstall the screens they took out and left out. Karin's was paid every cent agreed to per the original estimate and based on the work actually done. They were not docked for the mess left or the work left unfinished. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. There are better companies out there that actually work to resolve customer complaints without sleazy sales tactics. read more

Do not work with this company. I tried them for several of their services with the same result. Poor quality work no attention to detail and convict looking laborers ....and their office staff is rude and lacks the communication skills necessary to run a business. If their was an opportunity to do zero stars I would but the ap doesn't offer that as an option. read more

I have been using Karin's for about a decade and I am surprised by the negative reviews here! I'm about to make an appointment and ran across these comments, so I have to respond. I have a huge house (more than 40 windows, 3 stories and 2 triple sliding doors plus a huge chandelier in my 20 foot entry) and the guys from Karin do an OUTSTANDING job. They have all the equipment to clean windows inside and out, while balanced on precarious landscaping, and to clean my big chandelier (changing any light bulbs necessary) as well. They are fast, professional, and I have never had any kind of "mess" to clean up. I have been recommending them for years and will continue to do so! read more

We made an appointment and took the day off to get our windows cleaned. They didn't show up so we called them. They told us that we did not have an appointment. We explained that we did make an appointment and took a day off to make sure we were home to accommodate them and that's when things really went south. There were no apologies in fact there it was more of an attack. I asked to speak to the owner and that was met with resistance. I did speak with a manager named Chris who is one of the most unprofessional managers I have ever spoken to. Again no apologies just sarcastic remarks. Be warned! Find another company to do your windows. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I too had to pitch in here, upon reading negative reviews. I had Karin's do a small patio for me in 2015. What a job. I thought I had labored enough on getting the gynormous old apple tree roots removed. Turned out guys had to pull out with truck and chain. Stupendous effort and great job. This year, I had them back to put in a paver parking pad and pavers underneath garbage/recycling bins. The job was outstanding and done in a day. The pavers were ones I inherited and did not realize were differing in thickness by 1/2". They dealt with it, somehow. It was a crew of two partners whose names escape me. I really can't say enough about how outstanding their work was and clean-up as well. Extremely pleased. What a great way to kick off the summer. When they came to clean my windows the supervisor showed up with crew and claimed they did not have tall enough ladders to do the job. Ladder length requirements were on the work order that he did not have in his possession. He then got argumentative and told me that the sales rep had quoted me the wrong price. He then quoted me a 20 percent price increase. I contacted Karin and she refused to rectify the problem. Needless to say, a massive waste of my time and energy. read more

I would use caution when dealing with Karin's. They will attempt to charge you $190 for each and every trip to your home, regardless of how little was accomplished or whether it was a follow-up call for a less than ideal first visit. Just use caution and be explicitly clear regarding what is to be covered and whether the follow-up trip will be considered an entirely new charge. Otherwise, they are reasonable to schedule with and arrived on the day scheduled. read more

My quote went down slightly from the initial phone estimate. For the initial estimate I tried to count and explain the number/sizes of my windows and they pulled up my house on Google Maps to help them see, too. So it was pretty accurate already. Plus they very clearly explained that the estimate could go slightly up/down if there was a different number of windows/doors than originally thought. There seemed nothing at all unseemly or unusual about this practice. It's pretty standard. The windows are crystal clear now and I was warned that while they do a quick wipe of the windowsills, their focus is on the windows. I hope they eventually offer an additional service to also really deeply cleans the sills at the customer's option, but they did exactly what they said they would do and I'm happy with the service. Both the office staff and the cleaners were very nice. I'll happily use them in the future. read more

Wow! I was surprised at seeing poor reviews as we have used Karin's for probably a decade or more - and, as a Realtor, I have referred them to many clients. BUT...I've got to tell you they will NEVER BE REFERRED AGAIN IF they don't FIX my issue. It is now less than 24 hours before our Thanksgiving out of town guests arrive to stay with us - I took off work to wait for the Karin's window staff that was to arrive as early as noon for a 1 PM appointment - (I really don't have time to leave work right now but I made the arrangements to have the time available for Karin's window crew). Apparently, they are not coming now as it is windy outside. I asked that they still come and at least get all of the 58 windows washed on the INSIDE along with the screens. They refused. And now I will have dirty windows for Thanksgiving when I so wanted my home to look nice for our relatives. Karin's refuses to reschedule for Wednesday, either. Jan Anderson P. We were extremely disappointed with the service we received from Karins for lawn repair. What we were led to believe in our initial conversation and what actually took place were two different things. I would caution anyone using this service to read your proposal carefully and ask a lot of questions. Basically I felt like I paid over $850 for grass seed and dirt in a few areas. read more

I contacted Karin's for Window cleaning services for my parent's home (not wanting my parent's on a ladder). The team did clean both the inside and outside of the windows as well as screens, but after they had finished cleaning, two of the windows had been scratched. Sadly, my mother is retired and would know *if* the windows had a scratch prior to their arrival. When my mother mentioned the scratches to the crew lead, she was told "maybe you scratched the windows yourself". If my mother were physically able to be on a greater than 12ft ladder she likely wouldn't scratch her own windows anyhow. I am in dismay that they would accuse my mother of wrongdoing. Then they fell back to "you signed the waiver". I subsequently contacted them on Angie's List where I'd discovered them and they never responded. I guess it is too hard for them to just use equipment free of debris and then there is no recourse. Very disappointing. The invoice was paid in full, but they will not receive my mother's business again. read more

Was quoted price over the phone. Invoice left that indicated the same price I was quoted in the "Total" section of the invoice. When I called to give my credit card number over the phone, I was told it was a higher price and that their employee had filled out the invoice incorrectly. We went back and forth for several minutes with the rep calculating and re-calculating. When I indicated that it seemed only fair to honor the price originally quoted AND that was written on the invoice, the representative said, "Fine! Then that's what we'll do" in an irritated manner. We hired Karin's services to pressure wash our home. They quoted us one price and then showed up and said that they wouldn't be able to complete the job in the initial 3 hours as quoted. I thought that was strange since they came out, looked at our home and then provided the quote. They only pressure washed 2/3 of our house and did a poor job at that. There were streaks down the whole back of our house and dirt everywhere on the areas that supposedly were pressure washed. We tried to communicate with them our dissatisfaction and the response I got was well you paid so you must have been happy. Who doesn't pay for services? I've never heard of that. I will not be recommending these services to anyone I know and will be sure to tell friends and family to go elsewhere. read more

I've recently heard from my friend using this service (as she doesn't use Yelp, I will account for what she told me), CL said that she noticed one of the employees were acting really funny, so she struck up conversation and noticed a funny smell coming from one of them, I can't say exactly what it was, but I don't think they were honest during the jobs drug tests, honestly she nor I will be using this service ever again. read more
