Charcoal grilling is an art form. The lamb, which was supposedly wrapped in lamb fat, should have been succulent and juicy. Instead, as the 2nd photo shows, it was burnt and very, very dry. 3) the chicken was no better. Dry to the point of being stringy and chewy. It was supposed to be dark meat (leg), but it was so dry I couldn't even tell if it was dark or white meat. 4) For this miserable dinner, I waited a full 28 minutes - when I was there at 4pm and I was the only 1 of 2 customers. Unacceptable! This was a real disappointment, and a total let down, because Karas shawarma (by the same Owner) was actually quite decent, which was why I decided to try their restaurant location. Well, at first I only ordered a kunafa then quickly switched my order to their mid-day dessert offer, which includes Arabic coffee and a bundle with a selection of their different desserts. Since I had guests over also at the time, it was the perfect way of having a taste of different sweets and seeing which one is best. The staff was also kind enough to give me a cold drink instead of the Arabic coffee (since I don't really drink coffee). My thoughts? Wow! We all especially loved that everything wasn't overly sweet. It was made with the right amount of sweetness. I heated up the kunafa and enjoyed it (which is a compliment, since I'm very picky with kunafa). I especially loved the creme caramel and the Om Ali (personal favourite) filled with nuts. So, am I coming back for a visit? You bet!
