Everything I read told me that PR was a great place for coffee lovers. Well, that may be true in San Juan but not so on the West side of the island. While the bakeries have some great pastries, thier coffee is pretty awful. Most of them have espresso machines but it seems no one knows how to use them. We ran across Casa Barista while we were at the farmer's market in downtown Aguada. What a relief! They have very good coffee, friendly people, some light food and good prices. If customers are greeted by open fences, apparent drug activity, and an environment that feels unsafe before they even park, it's hard to justify staying.
