I wish I had taken the time to take photos but, was so hungry when we arrived, that I could not wait. What a nice surprise. We got there and found the doors locked but, they heard us and opened up to allow us to get in before closing. Even at the late hour, everything was amazing, We had several appetizers which were all great but, the Camerons con Pulpo en Ajo, was off the chart, we also had a fish appetizer and croquettes bacalao, main courses include steaks and tomahawk pork chop and they too were all amazing. We normally don't opt in for dessert but, decide to celebrate a great day with family by theming their homemade bread pudding with homemade vanilla ice cream. It was an amazing ending to a great meal! I highly recommend this place should you be in this part of the island! You will not be disappointed! read more

Very hidden, all the windows are covered. Inside you are greeted to fine dining by waiters in suits. Very nicely decorated. We were expecting something less fine but decided to eat. We had the sangria and found it sweet with needing a bit more wine taste. The appetizers were excellent very tasting. We had two paellas. I might be a little picky because I've had paella many times. It needed a little more moistness and some lemon squeezed on top. For such a fine dinning place I was expecting then to serve us but instead we were given the spatula to self serve. I saw other meals that looked delicious too including whole fish and meats. The wine was excellent and they had many types of whisky and fine alcohol to drink. They had soft slow music of Jose Jose and other artist. The service was over the top excellent. Overall it was a very good place for a romantic dinner or a special occasion. read more

Delicious food! This place is upscale so if you're looking for a place to be loud at, this is not it!! They play jazz music in the background. We went for lunch on a weekday and were there with only 2 additional tables which was great for us since we've heard this place can have a wait for dinner as it's popular. The service was INCREDIBLE!! We were treated like royalty, we had 2 servers and they were both so well mannered and professional. We had the croquetas as an appetizer, it was delicious and just the right size so we didn't get full before dinner. Don't listen to the only negative review about waiting for food between appetizer and dinner, it's fine dining not a fast food place! If I was given my entree immediately after my appetizer I would assume they are trying to kick me out. We had great conversation and wine!! For entrees we got the chillo entero which was sooooo delicious, paella which for 1 person was huge and a shrimp seafood medley dish(can't remember name). The menu is on a board as the ingredients are fresh and when they run out of a dish they erase the entree name from the board, I thought it was a cool concept. Now for dessert, the pudín was INCREDIBLE!! We got one to share but had to order a second one because it was that good!! They have a ton of whiskey bottles in a glass display so if you're a whiskey aficionado you will be very happy. It's street parking so you're gonna have to loop around until you find a spot. Everything was Incredible. From the wine selection to the appetizer to the absolutely amazing paella, the food was top notch and the service equally incredible. The owner also spent time with us to select the perfect combination of food and drink. Best paella I have ever had Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting San Sebastián. read more

Obviously we needed to try this place with so many interesting reviews. We set reservations for 7:15 PM when we arrived we were immediately seated. They have two floors we had a table on the second floor. We actually liked this better as it was more secluded and very distant from other customers. (COVID-19) Our waiter was extremely nice. They have a lot of wine which is really great so we settled on an organic Albareño. They have a good selection in a range of $$$. Now they have no menus. They have a wall behind the first Fl. Bar with the specials of the day. Now from the 2nd floor you have to do a full turn around standing to see it Perfect if your an Owl. Our waiter helped us out with the menu selections. We settled on a Serrano ham and monchego cheese appetizer for starts. Now unfortunately the waiter has to go up and down the stairs as the kitchen is on the first floor. The amount of time we waited after the appetizer to put in our main course meal was too long. We settled on a full bronzino baked and a Grilled turbot. At this point we had finished our appetizer so we just slowly drank our wine waiting for the food to come out. Fast forward 45min later dinner is served. Both dishes look great honestly the only thing both dishes were too salty on the seasoning. Flavor was right but half way the salt content had taken over the plate. I do want to say that in Puerto Rico they are a little heavier on their salt content. Moving on I want to point out that there was a lot of dust on the wine display. Also you can see the dust on the center chandelier. The decor is a black and red theme harsh on the eyes. At the corner there was a table with things on top and a large box of shavers underneath. WHAT IS THAT? If you consider your establishment high end then the decor and cleanliness is extremely important part of your experience. Clutter and dust definitely a no no. Now that said the place has potential and the chef/Owner with a bit of tweaking can make this place great. Need to keep a detailed eye in the kitchen and a detailed eye in the dinning room. Tidy things up remove clutter wipe all wine bottles. Timing is important you should receive your dinner when you finish your appetizer not 45 min later so a bit more on training would help. There's never any excuse for piled dust as this take a long time to get like this. Especially now during a corona virus pandemic. Hopefully executive chef Soto will make it happen as he definitely seems to have a passion for fine dinning. He is energetic and very charismatic. I would give this place an opportunity as it's a bold move fine dinning in the mountains. **** 4 stars for the wine selection and the fresh seafood. read more

I have no doubt that Marisqueria Jibara is one of the best restaurants in PR. Beautiful ambiance/decor, service is exceptional, the food is amazing, the wine list is the envy of any restaurant and they have a whiskey bar with an incredible selection. How incredible surprise to find a restaurant of such a high level quality in the middle of our beautiful island!!! Looking forward for my next visit as soon as I can! read more

All right folks, here's the deal ... you must try this hidden gem. If you live in San Sebastián or Lares, or in the surrounding areas then there's no excuse not to try this wonderful seafood restaurant. If you are traveling to PR for a visit, then make it your business to get out and see the country... and when you do, plan a trip to the historical towns of Lares, and my ancestral home of San Sebastián. The Chef, is world class and well trained, and the wait staff knows their stuff. Hubby had the salmon, I hade the paella and of course a side of tostones. This is the best seafood in Puerto Rico. You may think "this guy is nuts, the best seafood is in San Juan", listen; you're wrong. That place is a dump. If you find youself in the middle of nowhere in PR, stop by here; youll be very happy. I had the mahi mahi and it was cooked artfully and excellently. This place is amazing and in the unlikeliest place. The seafood is fresh caught and excellent. The Paella is the best I've had outside Spain. Serviré is on point and the owner very attentive. I can't really say anything negative about the place and I have read the one bad rating and I can bet that it's the clients fault as their tone was pissy and petty. Been there 3 times and it's absolutely better each time. In fact we are headed there tonight for more. Make sure to visit this place. read more

This place is amazing. They treat you with love and respect. The food is incredible, very fresh and tasty. The food is serve very quick and the taste is like if you where on a cruise restaurant dinning. I love it. The desserts are home made very crafty and delicious. I decently recomend.
