Was in DC for Pride weekend, and my homie and I went to Karma DC, which was one of the events' locations. It had an inside and outside party that was pretty fun! The drinks could've been better and, of course, pricey. Service was okay. Looks like they had hookah, VIP, ATM, and a food truck that closed when we tried to grab a bite!

I came here for a Saturday night poetry event and it was my first time at Karma. I had been in the area at other local venues but never knew about this spot. It's a great size (smaller than echo stage) and they have a small outdoor space. Outside they had a food truck where I ordered some french fries with honey and old bay. I forgot the name of my bottle girl for the section but she was a sweetheart. It did appear that they are under staffed because she only came by about 2-3 times Overall this is a pretty cool venue and I will be back

Live Music is life and it seems like it's a lot harder to come by now a days so when a night to go clubbing popped up I was like how could I resist! Coming here was interesting in it's own as this venue is tucked away in an industrial complex so it's like really off the beaten path I had to drive around to find it then when I did it became clear as day because they had signs out front pointing you in the right direction so that like totally helped. The only real downside to that is the parking here is really difficult as it's only street parking from what I can tell and that's what I found a few blocks away while this isn't in the best area it wasn't totally the hood either so I just parked on the street and walked over. Once inside I just started to feel the music and get my dance on as it's been a few years since I've gone to the club because of obvious reasons so it felt really good to hear the loud music and the bass. The venue was awesome they have a good lighting set up a few different places to grab a drink and a good sized dance floor for how big the club is as this one isn't huge but it's not super small either. Coming here was all about Metrik one of my favorite DJ's spinning that awesomeness that is EDM making it for a killer night of dancing and just enjoying life the way it should be. Overall this club was awesome I had a really good time here and it just felt amazing to be back in the scene dancing my heart out with all of that said I hope to come back here again at some point as you can't ever really have too many awesome nights dancing at the club! See you on the dance floor or in the circle pit feeling all that music!

Great place. The sound was good, sidelines were good, food was good. The good thing you to hear live music.

This old school punk venue has been around since the early 80s and I started seeing shows here in my late teens. The history behind this place is just mind-blowing and incredible. To me it's one of the best places to see a live band. The sound is spot on. I've seen Fugazi (sadly never got to see Minor Threat), Bad Brains, and several other bands here. Iconic and legendary venue... for music lovers it's a must at least once to see a performance here.

You can also pay for a parking pass through their website but the lot only opens up an hour beforehand so be sure to plan your evening with that in mind. We ended up parking on the street for only $3 since we arrived early to grab dinner nearby. The entry line was super long and literally went around the block but it moved surprisingly fast. Staff was friendly and helpful at the door. The inside was dark when we arrived and it would've been nice to have some house lights so people could find their way around the venue a little easier. The AC was cranking and the temp was comfortable. Upstairs has standing room and some bleachers which provides a good view with less of a crowd. Their VIP area looks nice and I'd be interested in splurging next time for a seat and a better view. There's bars downstairs and upstairs and even some food concessions. Getting out of the venue from the balcony was a bit stressful with only one way out. It makes you imagine what would happen if you needed to get out in a rush... other than that, it's a good space.

Online the place looks great and interesting so we decided to hit it up around 9pm because it doesn't close until 2am. So when we walked in the place was pitch black and the vibe was really off. We had to pay $20 a person to enter which at first I was confused because I thought this place was games, bars, music, and vibes...not at all. So we were walking around and the crowd I'll just say wasn't the type I wanted to be around. Only one bar was open and the music was weird. So we decided to leave and when I asked the person who was taking the money what was going on tonight they said an event. Now, this event was not posted anywhere on their website or social media. So I would caution going at night or call beforehand because I don't think I would want to come back because it was nothing like it is portrayed online.

We decided to stay and check it out, @1pm on a Sunday. Brunch is from 11a-4pm. There was only 1 other person for brunch, when we arrived. There was a DJ was that playing super loud music. Mostly rap music. The food was good. Fresh salad, fruit, meats etc. Unlimited mimosas was $25 per person. We could only order 1 flavor at a time, which there was about 8 flavors. They were good By 3pm, the place was more so filling up. What was crazy was at 4pm, the workers started breaking down the buffet-- quickly!! A group that had arrived @ 3 were caught off guard that brunch was ending. The workers did provide everyone with TAKE HOME Boxes, so we filled our boxes as fast as they were breaking it down lol Hookah guy arrived, think it was a total of $68. The hookah was good Gratuity is automatically included. Our waitress was GREAT! Only thing I didn't like, the place had her walking around in a tight leopard body suit, with her arms out, like this was the Playboy mansion. It was cold in there. I would come back for brunch - just know, there was not a mention of a Buffet brunch online

Funny, though, it is even harder to find DC9 on any "best" burgers lists in the city, at least among the local publications that cover food. Trust in the recommendations from Reddit led me here. I left a little room for disappointment, but it was ultimately filled with a delicious burger and fries. The first floor is a dedicated bar and restaurant with the concert venue upstairs. On a 20-degree Sunday night, it looked spacious. The menu is not large at all. There are six types of burgers and I chose the French Onion - "saucy" caramelized onions, Gruyère cheese, and crispy fried onions on top of a half-pound patty. I give it an "A" presentation. The ingredients were not stacked too high and I loved the caramelized onion flavor in each bite. The burger meat also was cooked at medium. Next to it was a stack of garlic fries. Shouldn't there be bits of garlic all over it? No, just bite into a fry and it tastes like garlic! I don't know how they do it. On the way out, I asked the one bartender that night if DC9's burgers were a huge draw. He said yes, it's a low key place for burgers but people do come here for them and the chicken sandwich as well. DC9 deserves a spot among the greats in the city not only because the burger tastes good, but it is also a great value! $15 for a burger that comes with fries. There are places where that's the price of the burger alone, or it is even more now!

The rooftop bar is not as exciting as I hoped but it is a fun place to grab a drink or have a snack. The bar food is reasonable (average items $3-$10, & up). Happy hour drinks were $3-$6 on average. There are lots of stairs. I am not excited about stairs. There is a bar on the lower level. Guests can grab a bite and a drink and never deal with stairs. If you attend a concert or a show, you will go up a flight of stairs to enter (two flights for the rooftop bar). The schedule is laid back. When a flyer says, "Doors open at 7:00pm," they mean 7:00pm-ish." The stage area is small. There are only a handful of tables. The metal stools are not extremely comfortable. But after you pay the cover charge (varies $15-$20 the night we visited) there isn't a minimum amount of food/drinks. There are complimentary water pitchers. The place is a fun dive. I would enjoy date night without seeing a show. The space is limited but people enjoyed dancing. Independent artists perform and sell merchandise at the counter. Be alert at night. I would have people with me if I were visiting in the evening.
