I was warmly welcomed upon entering and given a full tour by the associate on duty yesterday morning. The spa is very clean and lightly smells like relaxing herbs. It isn't overpowering at all. I was given a robe and very comfortable spa shoes to wear during my visit. I had an Ananda treatment with Brian which was absolutely amazing. I then spent the rest of the morning relaxing in tranquility room. They had a variety of magazines and books to read and I enjoyed matcha tea while I did so. I then spent some time in the sauna. The spa was busy but not overly crowded. I was able to comfortably use every amenity. Another associate checked in with me during my visit to ensure that everything was satisfactory. Washing my hands and notice in the mirror that the vents above the sinks are absolutely filthy. The vent filter is so dirty that the lint is encompassing the entire ceiling. This is not something that happens in a day. Or a week. Or a month. This is just neglectful. In an environment promoting health and vitality...ceilings are peeling in showers. Candle holders in relaxation room covered in cobwebs. Please play closer attention to detail for the prices we pay....

Beware. This salon uses counterfeit devices. I bought a package of Emsculpt treatments (advertised…read moreas "Emsculpt") but the machine did not look or feel like an Emsculpt treatment and left me with a burn. When I inquired into the authenticity of the machine, I was told it was actually different, cheaper product from a different manufacturer. The owner, Natalie, was aggressive, rude, mocking, and insisted she had a right to use a copyrighted name for a fake product (!). This is just ridiculous: if I bought a Chanel handbag and found out it was a fake, I would have the right to return it. If I went to a pharmacy and the pharmacist had swapped out Tylenol for Advil, they would be horrified and apologetic. The owner broke multiple laws, including theft of intellectual property and false advertising. She is currently being investigated by the state and the owners of Emsculpt. I have friends who work in the aesthetics industry and they always say do your research before choosing a med spa. These machines can really hurt you and it's clear that Natalie does not care about safety or consumer satisfaction. She is a dangerous. and irresponsible liar. The salon is also dirty and dingy looking. (On a positive note, the technician Drea was great, professional, and friendly. I've encountered her at other salons and hope she finds employment elsewhere. If Natalie treats her customers so badly, I can only imagine how poorly she must treat her employees).

As I had a wedding coming up (and was new to the area), so I was a little lost on things like where to get my dress tailored, what Salons could handle large bridal parties and such. Laura was willing to take the time to give me suggestions from her years of experience in Ithaca!! Needless to say all of her recommendations were right on. But that's just the extras - I have now had both my hair cut and waxing done with Laura (2-3 times each). The hair cuts were really good, and she's great at taking practicality into the mix when cutting your hair. For example, I'm someone who likes to blow dry my hair only on occasion and then only do minimal styling. She took all of that into account and gave me a great haircut that could be worn naturally or with my novice level of styling (instead of giving me a really cute style that I could never hope to recreate on my own as I've often gotten before). As for waxing, she manages to keep a constant stream of friendly chatting going through the whole process so that you don't have time to think about the potential pain coming your way. As someone mentioned in a previous review - the perfect balance of professional and friendly while being very thorough! I would highly recommend the 410 Salon!!

She also had a lot of suggestions for things like facial hair removal and discoloration (which weren't a part of her facial). What I loved most was she says it like it is, and does not sugarcoat your situation. This way you know exactly what to work on.
