I've been going to Karmic for years. While they have had several artists come and go, Joey has been a constant. He has been my tattoo artist for about 14 years. He is patient and takes his time to make sure your tattoo turns out exactly how you want it. If you have a specific drawing, he can draw it up or you can give him a general idea and he'll go from there. He is willing to work around your schedule and get you in quick. His work is top notch and he has great personal skills. He'll talk to you the whole time he's tattooing. The shop itself is very clean and you can tell it's sterile. I am very picky about where I'll get tattooed and once I find a person, I stuck with them. I would highly recommend Joey for any tattoos. read more

Bree Stallworth y'all! Get your pieces finished up by her now while you can before she gets rich and famous and can't remember our names. All I'm sayin is that she does insanely detailed line work, has a light hand, and is swimming with creativity. She's done some amazing work on me, and fixed up someone else's garbage they laid on my arm. Everything she touches turns to gold. Focused, dedicated, and a genera all her own. Every single piece she has given me has healed quicker, and nicer than anything I've had done before I found her. So happy to have the opportunity to have found her. Absolute pro! And as far as the shop goes, everyone was friendly and welcoming. Never had that "Do you even go here?" feeling that a lot of shops can give off. The artists and front staff all seemed to have really good communication and all seemed to get along really well and be supportive of each others work which is really amazing to see because its certainly not like that everywhere. This place was great! Steven pierced my ears for the first time (at 17) and he was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and funny and made me feel very comfortable. Steven was professional and everything was clean in the studio. He made sure to open the fresh needles in front of me so I knew they were sterilized. We called and were able to snag two spots for walk-ins after they'd had a cancellation, another friend got a piercing as well as our fourth friend scheduling an appointment for the next day to get her tattoo. All four of us walked out very happy and impressed. The artists are fantastic, they're friendly and welcoming, the studio is very clean, and the location is nice. read more

I'm usually not one to leave reviews, but this has been bothering me for some time and I think it's important that the artist understands how my overall experience was. I have gotten tattooed here twice by the same arist, Bree. The first experience was great and she did a fantastic job on the small details and what I was asking. However, when I went sometime towards the end of 2020 for a memorial tattoo my experience was not the same. The tattoo was simple and very special to me, but every time I look at it I am displeased. I even went back to get it fixed but I still see the mistakes. I asked for simple shading and I got a pointillism piece that now looks worse when she tried to fix it. Other people notice the mistakes too, and I have had friends who have had the same experience with Bree. Honestly people were shocked when I told them she did this tattoo, because they know how amazing she is and this piece is not even close to her best work. She has done awesome work before, then she is inconsistent and does not so great work. I spent a lot of money on this last tattoo and it was not worth it, for the size or the quality. I have decided to go somewhere else to get it fixed AGAIN. I will not be going back to Karmic unfortunately. Bree is a really sweet person and I respect her as an artist but the inconsistency in her work is concerning, especially when this is permanent. I will also like to state, I have never not liked a tattoo I have gotten nor have I ever had to get one fixed, and I have a lot of tattoos. I am really disappointed that something that was supposed to be perfect and special by an artist I really liked is the least attractive piece of art on my body. :/ read more

He is friendly and believes that the costumer is always right so my boyfriend felt super comfortable getting his first tattoo done by him. Once again, I feel the need to respond to an Owner Comment. I think it's weird that Yelp lets owners comment but does not give us (customers) a means to respond. Okay so here is my response. I know Erin that since Jeremy is your husband and the owner of the shop you feel the need to serve and protect his honor, however, you should as a reasonable owner have tried to hear the other side, which is the customer's side which last time I checked the saying was "the customer is always right." Your long protracted commentary below failed to take account of several things which I didn't even mention in my review. It didn't explain why he felt the need to walk me (a paying customer) out of his shop just because I asked him for a free touch up which last time I checked is standard in every tattoo shop I've been in. It doesn't explain why he let a customer walk out with shoddy work, that's like letting someone walk out with a bad placement ad. Wouldn't you want your work to be a good representation of how awesome your art is? That's free advertising. But instead he chose to do the opposite. It doesn't explain that he didn't sterilize the area before he started and as he tattooed there was a fly in the room and since then, the tattoo is now infected. It doesn't explain any of these. Instead you've chosen to come on Yelp to argue with my review instead of making amends and apologizing. Pfftt...it's not about the money Sweetie, I've paid more an hour for a tattoo than I paid for 2 sessions with your husband, it's about the principle. I've been tattooed everywhere from San Francisco to New York and this is the worst customer service I've ever received in any shop. After this, I swore off Atlanta tattooists, that's how bad the experience was. Sometimes getting tattooed is a little bit more than just the art, it's about the artist wanting to do a great job and most importantly, good customer service. Because trust me, there is very little money in this economy to be mistreated when you're paying for it. So listen to me, if you're reading this, don't bother getting fooled by the art on their website, I was, now see me now. Just take your money to Memorial Tattoo, because there's a reason they are number 1 in Atlanta, it's not just about the art, it's about good customer service and someone who would give you a good customer treatment. read more

Yesterday, my cousins and I (5 of us) decided to get our nipples pierced. We went looking high and low for a good spot and my cousin recommended this place (she got a piercing done before). It was such a great experience, everyone was amazing (staff) and Steve the piercer was fantastic! I felt very comfortable since I was the most nervous out of everyone. Went here for a tattoo on my foot. And all I have to say I'm soooo,soooo pleased at how it came out. My boyfriend was like "damn it's like 3D". I've been to Karmic 3 times over the last 2 years and have always been treated with great customer service and the work it top notch! My first experience was some touch up work a former artist never completed before moving to Alaska. The consultation was completely free and when I made the appointment, they were prompt, polite, and thoroughly discussed the situation and what exactly I wanted, including design, colors, blending, and fading; before starting. The colors were bright, blended well, and the lines were straight and exact. The cost was minimal and I couldn't have be happier with the artist and the work! When my son decided her wanted a tongue piercing, Karmic was the only place I could imagine going. We went in for a consultation and asked to go ahead with the piercing; but since my son was new to any type of piercings, they asked us to come back later that day; when they had their best piercing person available. They absolutely wanted to make sure everything was perfect....and it was! My third visit I went in to browse at some designs and artwork they had done, and ask questions about getting another piece done. I spent over 2 hours asking questions, looking at different work, styles, pictures, designs, colors, etc. The entire time I was treated with nothing but kindness from several helpful employees that were available. After a great deal of talking and thinking, never once was I pressured to make a decision or in any way treated as if I was annoying to them or they wanted me to hurry up. I never fully decided what I wanted, and the employee suggested I give it more thought, so I wouldn't make a decision I would end up being unhappy with. In the years since Karmic has opened, I have known at least 40 people to have piercings and tattoos completed there, and another 100 or so make purchases. Never once has anyone complained about the way they were treated or the work that was done. Quite the opposite actually! Everyone absolutely loves them and continues to go back, time and time again. My son and daughter-in-law are getting new tattoos for Christmas, and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I'm going in this week to discuss some work as well. ZERO STARS. Each time I've been to this location (4 times; shame on me), I've had a horrible experience. Tattoos and piercings alike, the experience has always been able to be concluded with negative vibes and negative experiences. Pretty sure my past tattoo (artist was an hour and a half late, then proceeded to smoke a cigarette with buddies after finding out I was his appointment) experience was by an artist that couldn't care less how his work turned out. My most recent experience was my tattoo and not only did it not turn out as expected to begin with, my skin was practically carved into and healing poorly. I've experienced artists elsewhere for sittings of about 5 1/2 hours that see their work as art and do their best, I've never felt that here. Do not recommend for piercings NOR tattoos. Free touch up offered but I will happily pay for someone else somewhere else to fix the mistakes rather than returning once I'm healed. Do your research, find somewhere else that actually cares and drive further for them because you will not find quality here. read more
