It was a nice and chill hike. Very easy, flat for the most part. The only uphill hike is the on the trail to reach El Morrillo, which are two bunkers left over from WW2. They overlook the ocean and we're used to spot German U-boats. It was pretty cool, and the view is even cooler. The Reserve has beach access. I believe you can get in so bring a bathing suit if you plan on taking a dip. The same trails for hiking are used for bike riding, so be aware for bikers. Also, if you are riding a bike, be mindful of hikers. The Reserve has a fishing platform. They don't rent fishing equipment. You have to bring your own. We saw a guy catch a tilapia. The lagoon is great for birdwatching so bring those binoculars. Overall, this is a perfect spot for a family outing and also a date (of your date enjoys the outdoors). Note: the address and pin on this page are incorrect. The address says Bayamón,PR instead of Humacao,PR. The pin has it on Just off PR-3. That is wrong. It is right on PR-3. You will see the entrance on the right. I made the edit, hopefully the update will be up soon. This spot is worth visiting.

I hadn't hiked for a while and our 4 year old had never been on a hike. It was a lovely experience. He loved it. We spotted turtles, lizards, fish, birds, and a hermit crab. The Reserve is an excellent place to bring kids. Very family friendly. I hope to come back soon to try the kayaking and to fish. For fishing, you have to bring your own equipment. They also rent bikes. That would also be fun. They don't have food or drinks here, at least not that I noticed. Better bring your own. They have some picnic tables. Also, the Reserve is not too far from food options. You will find several places to eat nearby on the PR-3, such as the Malecón de Naguabo, which has good seafood places.

I though this would be a great bonding experience between us. I searched for what was available in San Juan... every where I searched I got the same answer... Capt Juan Carlos Torruella of Extreme Fishing PR. I emailed him for dates and rates, he was fast to respond and easy to schedule. Nothing complicated as easy as it should be. We scheduled a 4hr (2 to 6pm) trip. The day could have not been more perfect. As we departed on our trip the Captain was more than helpful in explaining what we should expect. He answered all our questions and made my kid feel safe and entertained. 7 year olds can get bored easily... NOT TODAY he was excited, happy and wanting more... needless to say me too. The Tally: My kid got 9 Tarpon and 3 Robalo I got 4 and 1 Total 13 Tarpon / 4 Robalo I can't thank Juan Carlos Torruella for the great experience!! 5 Stars is not enough... Definitely worth the investment and will do it again!!

What a great, happy captain and tour!…read more Frank is a USCG Master Captain and is fluent in both Spanish and English. He has a great wealth of knowledge on the history and current situation of Monkey Island, Isla de Mona. According to Frank, the monkeys were brought over in the 1930's by American researchers for scientific purposes from India,as they're closely related to us humans. It's the largest colony of monkeys in the world. Because of its sensitivity, only researchers are allowed on the actual island. However, Frank gets close enough to the island to observe a lot of the monkeys. He also anchors at a responsible length away to ensure that he does not disturb the monkeys. If you'd like to get even closer, he has a kayak, but again, he'll kindly remind you to be mindful of the monkey's habitat and that you cannot go on the island. Apart from the Monkey Island tours, he does snorkel, kayak, dive and fish. The boat is safe and has water, life jackets and other safety measures like a fire extinguisher. He will even play some music for you! My father and the people I was with, didn't get seasick, but I'll be honest, I did a little...so keep that in mind if that might be you! Haha Bring something that controls seasickness - it is a boat ride after all.

He is totally hooked now after taking this excursion! I really appreciated the personalized service both before, during and after our tour with Sea Vieques. Captain Judi was very clear and personal with her communications before our tour date. She made contact with me via e-mail at least 3 times before we even got to Vieques. This made me feel so at ease so we didn't feel like we were going to meet some stranger and go out on their boat. During our boat ride, she and Katie were so friendly and personable. Judi gave a very in-depth and enthusiastic overview of all the fish and wildlife we were going to see on our snorkel. I really appreciated this, knowing what to expect and look out for. Of course, we had a couple bonuses that she pointed out during our snorkel including a lion fish and a gigantic puffer fish! She continuously checked to make sure that all members of our snorkeling party were accounted for, comfortable and having a good experience. It's the little things that matter when taking a trip like this. We were never without a drink whether it was water, juice, soda or a fantastic and tasty pina colada! They even served these drinks in high quality cups with tops and straws so you didn't have to worry about spilling (alcohol abuse!). You can definitely tell that Captain Judi takes a lot of pride in what she does and is totally professional and fun. She has a great passion for the reef and the wildlife that is contagious! We went home and did research on some of the fish we saw this day and on other days. There was SO MUCH to see! Lunch was served after our snorkel and was delicious. I've never been on a snorkel that served food and I have to say it was such a great touch. After swimming around in the water, we were definitely hungry! On the way back, we took advantage of the ride on the front of the catamaran on the "trampoline" up front and had a BLAST! Overall, totally great experience. We couldn't have asked for a better day out on the boat with such a great tour company and host!

She's very passionate about snorkeling and accompanied us the whole way through, guiding us to the best spots and providing a ton of education about the reefs and all of the creatures that live within them. She kept an eye on all of us (small group only 4!) and was super-vigilant about making sure our masks were on right and weren't fogging. She also carries a whistle that you can hear underwater and would call us over for any particularly cool fish she spotted. We saw 2 huge (HUGE) puffer fish amongst a ton of other good stuff. Lunch was delicious and so were the home made pina coladas. I would go again in a heartbeat.

Unlike most of the other large charter companies Rick answers his own calls and he was able to schedule us the next day. From the moment we were greeted on the dock for our half day excursion he and his assistant were professional and personable, focusing on our comfort and safety rather than just following "the required protocols". This in itself was completely different than our past experiences with other charter companies in Puerto Rico. As we stepped aboard their very well maintained 46' Hatteras Fly Bridge Motor Yacht it was easy to see these guys take great pride and joy in caring for their boat and equipment just as they did their customer service. They had even purchased that morning additional snorkel gear for children just in case on of our couples had children. "Talk about being prepared". They then briefed us on the options for our snorkeling request and allowed us to decide what spots to visit first. Upon arriving at our first destination they provided us with top notch U.S. Divers snorkel equipment and directed us to safety awareness and turned us loose. For the experienced diver this is a dream come true and for the beginner it is slightly challenging however Scott the first mate is an incredible diver and teacher and will dive in next to anyone needing a little extra assistance. Back onboard from our first dive was a great moment to capture some photos of the amazing turquoise water and uninhabited islands along the north east coast off the mainland. They provided a cooler full of adult beverages and sodas as well as bottled water along with the best cheese snacks and crackers, fruit and snack spread with cold cuts. Our second location is most recognized as the island which Pirates Of The Caribbean was filmed. Over all words cannot express how wonderful our experience was with Rick and his crew. As experienced boaters from Texas this is the only way we will charter in the future. Great Job Rick! Email: RickLosh@Gmail.com

We arrived on time and we were warmly greeted by the captain and 2 crew. After a basic safety briefing we charted out towards Culebra in overcast weather. Instead of Culebra we settled on the uninhabited beach of Caya Luis Pena before Culebra with crystal clear waters in about 20 minutes. The waters were translucent clear turquoise and beach sand was pristine. Water temp was around 79-80F. Weather was overcast and comfortably cool. They laid out a simple light sandwich buffet for lunch with beers and tropical cocktails. Snorkeling, swimming and relaxing for a few hours, we spotted small schools of fish and a very cool bachelor Stingray circling looking for scraps. Crew was incredibly friendly and helpful and everyone enjoyed the short beach visit. The return trip was much smoother and after jumping back on the bus we were able to stop by a bbq joint for coconuts and fried stuffed empanadas.
