However, there are some higher-res photos on this Yelp page. Also, they are very hand-holdy about all the rules for getting to the yurts. After talking with them, I get it. There are lots of Gumbies coming up from Phoenix with zero outdoor experience getting lost on trails. We are all pretty experienced in winter, trail, and off-trail travel, so as soon as we were able to convey that, we were good! These yurts are perfect. You have to hike to get into them, so you avoid any sort of crowds you'd have if you were car-camping. But, the hikes are really short, so you can still have a pretty bougie outdoor experience, and bring lots of heavy stuff! They also provide grills and port-o-potties. We stayed in the Columbine Yurt. There were 4 of us, and the fit was perfect! The stove can get the yurt nice and toasty, just sure the window flaps are closed so you can keep that heat in! This was a great place to stay while hiking nearby Humphreys Peak. I would absolutely come back!

We brought a pot and stove top coffee maker that we placed on top of the wood stove to boil water for coffee and oatmeal. There is a provider propane grill for cooking. We also brought our two dogs who had a great time. Lots of hiking on the trails.

Some of these items are so intricately made and engraved, they're like works of art. They had antique firearms and more recent displays from all over the world. Some of the grips were made out of ivory, turquoise and more. Fascinating to see the difference and how firearms have evolved over one hundred or so years.

We rented the A Frame rustic cabin which has a bedroom with 1 large bed, another bedroom had two twin beds upstairs and a pull out in the living. Full restroom and full kitchen. Prices have increased substantially in my opinion, but there is plenty of space so you could split the costs if you have to join you. They have Peak and Off-peak rates.... It's only for military and families (active, reserve, retired, etc). They also have smaller studio cabins, a larger cabin that fits up to 12 and some pet friendly units. The grounds are beautiful...for the outdoor enthusiasts, hiking, skiing (seasonal) nearby.... Staff was friendly, large fireplace in the lobby, along with a small convenience area where you can get snacks, beer, coffee and more. Great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors!

It really started off poorly when the driver asked us if anybody on the tour had a pass to enter the Grand Canyon. He said his boss requires that they ask so they can save money. My wife had to get out of the tour bus (van), go back up to our room and return with the pass. They saved $25, we got nothing. The price was extremely high per person for what you get. I thought you we would get to go places that you could not get to by car but all we did was drive to places on the rim, go out and read the plaques. They did provide a Safeway version of a lunch but it was so not worth the money. The Tour guide was nice and mentioned that we were the best group he's had, the reason being: we all spoke American. The only reason to take this tour would be to bypass the parking if the park was full. We went off season and felt totally ripped off. I can drive. I can read plaques. If you can make your own lunch, drive and read then avoid the tour.

The owners, Dave and Natalie, are highly experienced on group and adventure travel. From your first night in a hostel to 19 more nights (Alaska Salmon Run) at various levels of camping you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself in the wilds of Alaska. You will see many animals that you may never have thought to see in their own habitats behaving as they should. You will see amazing landscapes and have the chance to walk on a Glacier. The value for your money is excellent. That said there are some things you must bring to the venture. You need an open mind. This is a group experience and you will meet many different personalities - most from other countries. Some will be critical of you or difficult and some will be delightful. You need a strong will. The trip will challenge you physically while you adjust to temperature extremes and various hiking opportunities. You need to be flexible. The phrase "this is Alaska" covers all kinds of happenings around timing and resources. Dave and Natalie do their best but not every detail is under their control. You have to be willing to fully participate. Setting up and cleaning up campsites and meals are a group effort. Dave and Natalie work hard to accommodate diets. We are vegan and although some of our meals were uninspiring, we did not starve. The tents are spacious and easy to set up. There are plenty of camp chairs, dishes, and utensils. We recommend you bring a 2-3 inch (5-7.5cm) sleeping pad (REI has good ones), and a sleeping bag rated ro 30 degrees F (-1 degree C) as well as a camp pillow for comfort. A liner for your sleeping bag is a big help keeping you warm. You don't need lots of clothes - just layers. There are at least 3 places on the trip where you can do laundry. Finally remember the wilderness is not next door. There will be at least 4 long bumpy bus rides from one location to the next with a few shorter bumpy drives as well. You will often be surprised by animal sightings and amazing vistas for which Dave stops so you can take pictures. This was not a vacation, it was an adventure for us. If adventure is what you seek and you are willing to take advantage of the many opportunities that Dave and Natalie will provide, this is the travel company for you.

We have a group of guys that have worked together for about 30 years. We are spread out across the…read more country , so we try to get together each fall and travel to some place in the mountains for some great camaraderie. This year we picked Flagstaff. This year we had 6 guys that were able to make the trip. Since everyone wants their own bedroom and bathroom, the cabin has to be rather large. This year we found this place which had everything we were looking for, from bathroom and bedroom count, to location near National Parks and National Monuments. We started checking to see if it was available for the time we wanted and found it was. Then, I contacted Lisa L ( the owner) and found her to be the best to work with. She was extremely nice and helpful, and we were in business quickly. Upon arrival, we found everything to be exactly as she had told us. The cabin was probably the best stocked place that we've stayed. They had everthing from multiple types of coffee to anything you would need to cook with. They also had 2 different BBQ grills ( gas and Treager) that we made good use of. The bathrooms were fully stocked with bath tissue, shampoos, and soaps, and they had tons of paper towels. This property butts up to a national forest and has a small fishing pond on the front of the property. The man cave had multiple fishing rods for your use at the pond. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for that. This location is centrally located. It is near Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Painted Desert, and Sedona. We hit all of those places and had a great time. We enjoyed this place so much, and Lisa was such a great lady to work with, that our group has already decided that we will return:-)

We…read moredecided on this place after realizing that the Residence Inn we had reserved didn't have inside hallways, and we wanted to be able to easily go back-and-forth between ours and my parents' rooms rather than toughing it through the cold, wintry Flagstaff weather to get between rooms. What do I think? All show, no go. Beauty, no brains. Good aesthetics, poor ergonomics. Yeah, it's beautiful. Modern deco. Contemporary furniture. Nice use of lighting. Clean, cool pastel colors. Full height glass door showers. Frosted glass sliding doors. Spacious walk-in closet. But look beyond all this and you'll find: 1. The plumbing is bad. First flush and the toilet overfilled causing my parents to move to another room. The maintenance dude who came to check out the problem said it was indeed a common problem because the building's plumbing was never upgraded during the renovation. He told us of, we saw, and overheard from other guests of several other rooms with this problem. The maintenance dude even commented that my dad was the only guest sane enough to turn off the supply line to the toilet so it didn't continue to flood the room. 2. The glass frosted door to the restroom doesn't block light at night. This is a prob because we like to keep the light on at night so the kiddos can see their way to the bathroom. Instead of blocking light, the glass frosted door actually helps to disperse light throughout the room. Mickey Mouse solution: we used one of the bedside LED reading lights pointed at the bathroom to light the way. 3. The sliding door's interior handle will smash your fingers. Yes, I found out the hard way as this happened to me in the middle of the night. Closed the sliding door behind me to find that the interior handle leaves only about 1/8th inch to the wall! WTF?!? 4. You can't turn on the shower without getting wet. "Dad, could you help me turn on the shower?" Ok, no problem. Wait, no this is a problem. The shower head's on the wrong side. Or the door's on the wrong side. Well, either way, you're gonna get wet b/c you have to enter the shower to turn it on. You could point the shower head away, then turn it on, but my kids are too short to point it back. So expect to get wet! 5. Difficult to get luggage to the walk-in closet. Our room had two queen beds and we brought a few bags and a larger size luggage on this trip. Unfortunately the distance between the bed and the TV stand is about 12 inches! So forget about rolling it to the walk-in closet. You gotta carry it over the bed to get it in. 6. Slow internet. Uhh.....this is a problem. And the VPN connection to my company's intranet/email didn't work for me either. 7. I could go on... Anyway, we booked 3 nights and despite these probs decided to remain there the remaining 2 nights b/c we had already settled in and we didn't want to move our party. The inconveniences almost didn't outweigh the niceties because of the breakfast spread, the politeness of the hotel staff, and the overall fun we had in Flagstaff. But if I had to choose again, I'd look elsewhere.
