    Buffett
    Amy B.

I was wanting to try this place since I recently heard it opened, and had really high, maybe to high hopes for it. I came here absolutely famished and left full and happy, but was slightly underwhelmed afterwards. Here's why: I was starving when I called to see if the buffet was open on a Sunday. I didn't know if it was a weekday thing or not, and the guy on the phone was sort of helpful and said yes. (if the buffet wasn't open on a Sunday, I would have immediately passed, FYI.) Walking in, I was immediately underwhelmed. The buffet is $15 and it seemed like a traditionally small selection. The reason I say this is that I've been to a few other Indian buffet's, and they spread was way more impressive then what Kashmiri has to offer. So, I spoke to the guy at the counter, who IO think was the same guy on the phone and asked what came with the $15 buffet. He asked what I meant by that. I asked if it came with Naan or a beverage. He said I could get Naan and a bottle of water. I will say I feel like if I had not asked for the drink or Naan, he would have not served it to me. Strike #1. Not cool. I felt like he wouldn't have bothered and thought I didn't know any better. Not the case here. So, I was slightly irritated. I wonder how many other customers he's done this too. Again, could have been a vibe, but not really excited already after seeing how small the buffet was and the slight attitude I got when asking simple questions. So, I choose to dine in and do it because why not. Here's the strike #2. None of the food was labeled. I had no clue what was what. Just dishes in containers. I do not have any dietary restrictions, so I wasn't worried about allergies, but it would have been nice to know what I was eating in case I wanted to come back and order that specific dish. Or if I didn't like it, I could know to not order it again. Labeling would have been nice. The food itself was fantastic. I mean, it really was awesome. I tried everything just about at the buffet and it is legit good. I would return and dine in here no problem since I was able to sample a few things, even though I had no clue what I was eating. Their prices are at the higher end of things for me at about $15 a person, so there's that. Also, I don't know if they have anything else besides water in bottles available. Fountain pop would be great! The naan was fabulous as well and was served hot fresh out of the oven. I ate it with my meal and it was really super good. But a labeling of what dishes were what would have been fabulous so when I return, I can decipher what I want to eat. I know they just opened, but the food is good here.

Newer spot. It's only been here about a month. Store front doesn't have a sign above the door yet. I realized we ate at the prior Indian restaurant here since we ate dessert at Choco mania afterwards. The interior has a disco feel to it with all of the lights, the blue lights over the table. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian, medium, chicken Makhani (butter) and Chana masala, all medium. $39.22. The Gobi Manchurian was slightly crispy when you bite into it, it's got some good heat to it. The green chutney is spicy, the red sauce is tasty too. The carrots are fresh and crunchy, good pickled veggies. The butter chicken and the Chana masala were both savory, spicy and yummy. Sauces were both quite good. The chicken wasn't dry at all. Good food and service.

This place is where the former Rajma used to be near the Walmart on hall and mound. I would have to say overall the place is far more inviting and the food is even better. First off, the staff was the friendliest of any Indian restaurant I've ever been too. Not that people aren't friendly in other places but they mostly just ask you your order and do the beverage refills. This place was different. We had two different servers constantly making sure we were ok and that the food was to our liking. They made conversation with us throughout our meal and I loved it. Let's get to the food; I came here with a friend who uses habanero sauce to brush his teeth so he's always in search of the extreme heat. He ordered the chicken volcano and the server made sure he was aware that it is very spicy. He said bring it on. He assured me after he started eating that it was indeed very spicy and probably the hottest Indian dish he has had to date. So he got what he wanted! We ordered the aloo tikki and onion bhaji for apps and they were both delicious. The paneer tikka masala was pretty good but not amazing. The cheese naan and garlic naan were both on point. The aloo paratha was a little strange. I've never had it with so much potato, it was a bit too much. But still good nonetheless. Forgive the lighting in my pictures, you'll see why when you stop by. I definitely recommend this spot and will be back in the future!

This place is spacious and quite comfortable. It was far from where I lived, but it was worth the drive. I went there for lunch. It was relatively quiet, but they had a lot of online orders. The service was excellent. The staffs were hospitable and polite. They also made sure our water glasses were full. The menu has a great variety. Plus, they are halal and vegan/vegetarian friendly. I ordered chicken Mughlai and lamb pasanda, spicy. I have a high spice tolerance; thus, the spiciness is okay for me. Enjoyable. No significant burn. The flavors were on point! It was so delicious. It was A LOT of food. I thought we could not finish it, but we did! It was that good! The sauce goes incredibly well with rice and naan. Carbs on carbs, but who cares if you enjoy it once in a while? On top of that, they were so lovely that they gave us kheer on the house, which is an Indian rice pudding that is full of spices and aromatic. I'm so glad my friend who ate with me even said this is the best Indian food she's tried all over Michigan so far--highly recommended! The price is very reasonable too!

Chicken Tandoori, Butter Chicken, Aloo Gobi and Bhindi Masala
    Rob B.

First time back since the new owner at this location. Chicken Tandori is good at the mild level. The cilantro, onions and overall cooking is right there- moist and a surprise. Give them a solid thumbs up of what is mild. Next time I will bump to a medium. Aloo Gobi is a total pleasant surprise bursting with flavor. It has just a good balance of a mild heat sauce to cook the cauliflower and potatoes. The Butter Chicken is also good. It is just a notch below the sweet overtone note we like but it makes the cut. The Bhindi Masala okra has a little too much of the touch stringy portion of the okra in it though. There are a few more items on the menu to try that I can now do so in confidence. Good job. Will come back.

Asked if they made authentic chai..they stated they did. The chai taste like black tea and milk..no spices detected at all. Took 10 minutes to make the worst chai ever. The Aloo Parantha is gross... the potatoes are mushy and taste like they boiled it in chicken seasoning to give it taste and shoved it in the naan with some spices to dress it up. This is not authentic.. you are better off at Little India at 23 mile and Van Dyke. You're welcome

We heard…read morethat a TX Chicken place was coming to Novi, so we decided to try an already established location. The parking lot was packed, but not for this place. For most of the time, it was empty and we were the only customers. A couple other parties did come in, but it was not as crowded as other big name chicken places. The décor was cute, but my husband was confused by what the actually theming was. Was it Houston? No clear direction. But it was eye catching. The people who worked here were mostly friendlyish, but the main person was super dry and not at all personable. It seemed like we were bothering this person even though she was fair and efficient. Just not friendly at all. The food was super expensive, especially for the portion size. The meal cost more than a typical sit down restaurant, especially for the experience, portion size, and the quality, and that's not okay. I guess I would rather have a sit down experience compared to this. I can go to our favorite Mexican restaurant for cheaper chicken and fries plus chips and salsa for less money. The fries were really good, well seasoned, crispy and thick. The cheese dipping sauce was really good, but pricy for the amount given. The house sauce was not bad, but the BBQ was just a brand name pre-made cut, and not a house sauce, surprising for a chicken place. And the syrup was also a pre-made cup, not a house made syrup for a place that wants to do waffles. The waffles were good, very sweet, seemed like a Belgian liege style, I would recommend it and they do offer a la carte waffles. The chicken sandwich was probably the best of the chicken. Both kids got the honey butter sauce. They were tasty, but so small for a $12 price a la carte, and even more with fries. The strips were disappointing. The chicken was not juicy enough and the actual chicken had very little flavor. We got plain, honey butter, mild and medium. The plain one did not have much flavor, even good seasoning to it. The mild and medium were red in color but lacked flavor. The lemonades were very good, but super expensive. Honestly, go to Shake Shack down the street, their lemonades are great and refillable, also larger and less expensive. Personally, Dave's Hot Chicken would be my go-to in the hot chicken category of fast food. And Shaquille O'Neil's chicken place is the place I would return to for a variety of options plus milk shakes. The shakes here were honestly too expensive to try even though they looked good. Since parking was limited, I imagine most people were at Panda next door, where the prices are better and the portions are bigger. Plus there are so many wing a strip places around us, I would need an amazing experience to come back soon and this was unfortunately not it. But, if you are a hot chicken fan, give this place a try and see for yourself.

With so many hot chicken places in the area, this place is nothing special. Taste wise I thought it…read morewas below average. The sandwiches were so small for the price. I visited to experience the cuisine, which I haven't had much of admittedly. However, after reading several reviews I was led to try it. There was a large order ahead of me, and since there is only one gentleman, the owner, preparing the food, I was there for over an hour waiting for my carryout. I definitely can't stress enough how important it is to order ahead. The menu is small but mighty. It consists of jerk chicken, curry chicken, oxtails, curry goat red snapper, salmon, and Rasta Pasta for the mains. Side dishes include yams, rice & peas, cabbage, plantain and other items. He also sells juices and Jamaican beef patties. Now admittedly, I'm a lightweight when it comes to spices, particularly heat. I don't care for hot spices this is why I shied away from eating Caribbean food. *haha* I ordered the pasta thinking I would be avoiding the curry and the jerk seasonings. But being unfamiliar with the dish, I was wrong. The dish was full of flavor and very spicy. If you like that sort of thing, I am sure you will enjoy it as it had a deep flavor as if it was stewed overnight. The pasta comes with chicken, which was very tender and juicy. I also had a beef patty. The crust was flaky and delicious, as was the beef filling. Before I left, I shared with the owner that I had planned to leave a review on Yelp. He shared with me a letter that he had received from Yelp congratulating him on his driving business. He is humble, with a great spirit. I enjoyed him. I highly recommend Caribbean Authentic Cuisine.
