Generally, such great reviews for a doctor's office leave me a bit skeptical (my father owned a couple of medical clinics throughout his career, and my mother was an administrator, so I've been behind the scenes). However, I booked my first appointment and never looked back! They were very accommodating during the Pandemic, so my treatment, while remote, never skipped a beat. There are very good reasons she's booked so far in advance, and why so many of her patients are devoted to her practice. Finding a physician who still radiates a passion for her profession is rare these days - grueling schedules and insurance claim headaches can wear away at the most cheerful of personalities. However, in the years I spent under her care, she never lost focus on the patient, their medical treatment, and their overall experience.

I have pretty significant medical anxiety so seeing a new provider is always a bit stressful and the reason for my visit today was also very stressful. When I got to the office it was clean, the front desk was very polite, it was everything you'd hope for and should be able to expect from a medical office. What I wasn't prepared for was how Dr.Patel was going to be as my doctor. She was absolutely incredible. She spent just shy of an hour with me and I'm pretty sure I was booked for a 15 minute appointment. She spent so much time with me, she listened to all of my concerns and not only did she listen to them she addressed every single one of them, even the ones that probably sounded stupid or irrational, but she didn't judge me for one second, she validated my feelings and she went above and beyond to explain everything and calm my nerves. If I could have her as my doctor for everything I would do it in a heartbeat. She was incredible. I've never felt as important and cared about from a doctor on a first visit in my entire life than I did with her. I left her office crying happy tears as I walked to my car. I didn't think it was possible for a doctor to care so much about a complete stranger, but she did and she took the time and energy to go so above and beyond to help me. She is absolutely amazing!

My specialist told me to establish an endocrinologist when I got to Cali and he said he would work with the doctor and get them up to speed with my care. I have a rare tumor in my neck which is closely monitored and managed. I met Dr. Nguyen and told him the situation. I told him my doctor would be happy to work with him. I brought the test and bloodwork my doctor back in CT was ordering for me. My doctor in CT ordered an ultrasound but then Dr. Nguyen ordered one too right before my appt with my doctor in CT. As time went on Dr. Nguyen wasn't making money off me and wasn't the lead doctor over my care and he quickly was ready to dismiss me. He asked me what I needed him for and I told him I wanted a doctor I could go to in California as well. I told him my doctor in CT would be happy to talk with him and go over what he was doing. Well two years late Dr. Nguyen finally says he doesn't even specialize in the tumors I have, and whatever I need I can go see my specialist in CT. I told him well if I need to have surgery or a doctor to monitor and order further test or care once I return to CA he would be working with my doctor back in CT. He was very rude and nasty and was not interested in working with me. If he wasn't the lead doctor of ordering test and making money off me he didn't want to be bothered. I was in his office for a minute and a half and my insurance is being billed for nothing. Well they are paying for nasty condescending treatment. Don't waste your time. His ego is bigger than his head. I don't care to talk to any office manager. Hung left a lasting impression on me, and he's definitely not going to apologize for how he feels nor is he going to NOT charge my insurance company for the minute he took to say he didn't want to help me any further.

He also had a great sense of humor, which is very important to me. I'm a 100% disabled vet with full VA coverage but would much rather go here as I enjoy the environment, staff and the good Doctor. Fortunately, my situation is not complicated but he takes the time; end results are phenomenal. My latest visit just the other day found me in a bit of a conundrum; I needed to be seen for an Rx update. Seems with telemed diminishing, the office is popular. Appt scheduling is now long. I was on the phone with a very spunky office rep "Jasmin Hernandez" she stated I could be seen...if I could get down there in a half-hour, "hurry." Made it in 15min! She was even nice enough to pop-in after my appt to say hi and glad to see I made it. I don't believe synergistic environments like this just happen. It's a top down, all-in approach. Everyone in the office seems happy. Oh and medical asst who checked my vitals was awesome...didn't get "his" name.

When I scheduled this appointment with the office, I specifically made it for 2:30 pm, arrived at 2:24 pm to be told that my appointment was at 2 pm and I was late. The front office person was nice enough to call back to see if the doctor could still see me, they referred her to call and speak to Dr Buttan directly and when he answered she said ohhh you are in your office, explained the issue and mistake, and he flat denied to see me for the appointment. This was not my issue or an intentional lateness on my part this stemmed from whomever booked the appointment months ago. I expected if the doctor was with a patient and full schedule that no exceptions would be made but that was not the case. Then she explained that the next appointment is in 2027, when I have an urgent need to be seen this year and have already let too many months pass waiting for this appointment and booking it around my own schedule with docs I work with. What's so concerning is the human in medicine that seems to have left the building, not just on the specialist side but also the PCP side with Torrance Memorial. Doctors have their "accepting new patients" listed with no open calendar appointments to fit the new patients in when they call. The availability of doctors and specialists in the Torrance Memorial network is horrible for new patients, the experience, the dismissiveness and the ability to find quality care from doctors who care with a human side. Dr Button has no empathy for human situations and his patients.
