Janet Lee, however, made it a point to tell me "you're a pretty girl, but your acne is not okay" and proceeded to tell me about her aesthetic med spa where she believed Morpheus 8 would change my skin. Morpheus 8 is micro-needling and if I know anything about micro/needle, I know I'm not a candidate because my acne is active. Dr Janet Lee spent the rest of my appointment trying to push this service on me and telling me to save my money to do it (she told me it's about $4k for 2 sessions). This is after I asked her to write me a prescription for a glucose monitor bc my blood sugar levels is what I'm worried about. This is the reason I came in for my appt. She gave me so much push back trying to convince me not to get a glucose monitor bc "it's not completely accurate," "the monitor is going to be in the way and you're going to feel it on the back of your arm," and so on. If you want a doctor who doesn't listen and will just push her own agenda on you, please go see Dr Lee, but if you want someone more compassionate and not as incompetent, go elsewhere. Unfortunately, her office cancelled and rescheduled the appointment twice without offering any explanation or asking me for my input. Each time, I received a brief and impersonal message simply informing me of the change. On the day of the rescheduled appointment, after waiting six months and experiencing two unclarified cancellations, I made the drive from Westwood to the clinic. Despite allowing ample time, I was significantly delayed by unanticipated traffic on the 405 Freeway. I immediately called the contact number provided to notify UCLA Health of the delay. I was told my message would be noted. After a 2.5-hour drive, I arrived 30 minutes late--having notified the office in advance--only to be told Dr. Cheung would not see me. The front desk staff informed me that the individual who said it was acceptable for me to arrive late was not part of their office but rather UCLA Health's general support staff. While I respect the need for boundaries around scheduling, I expressed that this internal communication breakdown should not result in a patient being penalized--especially after prior cancellations on your part. There was only one patient in the waiting area, yet I was told Dr. Cheung was unavailable and that the next available appointment would be five months later. This experience left me deeply disappointed--not only in the lack of accountability, but in the absence of basic compassion and consideration for a patient's effort, time, and well-being. Dr. Cheung, if this message reaches you, I sincerely invite you to reflect on whether these actions align with the values of empathy and service that guide the medical profession.

I would NOT recommend Dr Goldfarb for parathyroid surgery. She performed parathyroid surgery on my…read morefamily member and first of all blatantly lied after surgery about how many parathyroids she took out. Right after surgery she said they took one "and a little bit", then in the following days tells my family member 3 were taken out. She also failed to send my family member home taking calcium after the surgery (standard procedure at the best in the country Norman Parathryroid center in Tampa, we have a family member who had parathyroid surgery here). She waited for calcium to get low and have symptoms before treating rather than trying to prevent from going low in the first place. Since then we have had nothing but issues and almost a year later now my family member is suffering from hypoparathyroidism and having to take calcium everyday to prevent symptoms of low calcium, which the internet says this is usually a result of damage caused during surgery. I am convinced she is the cause of all of this. The said she had to dig around and go almost to the spine to find one and I think she damaged something causing the patient to now have a life long issue. The endocrinologist are now saying the parathyroid may never come back and my family member may have to be on calcium for the rest of their life (risking kidney stones) or medication which is a shot every day to manage the PTH levels. On top of that, Dr Goldfarb's surgery left a huge noticeable scar on the neck of the patient. We are now questioning whether the surgery was even necessary. Prior to this, there were no symptoms no issues besides slightly high calcium and slightly elevated PTH showing up on bloodwork and now it is a daily struggle to manage and no doctor in town seems to know what is going on. Dr Goldfarb was cocky and over confident and dismissive when questions were asked about difficulties with parathyroid surgeries. She was also not proactive in working with the endocrinologist to help with these issues. I would never send anyone to this surgeon and certainly would NEVER allow her to cut my neck open. People need to be aware that parathyroid surgery isn't as simple as doctors make it out to be. I just wish my family member would have gone to UCLA or even Norman Parathyroid Center in Tampa or maybe didn't really even need the surgery to begin with but...surgeons make money off of surgery, dont they?
