We came here for a work event, and I was surprisingly impressed with the food here. Usually for a place that has good vibes, good views, you don't really expect the food to be good either, but it actually was!. My favorite bites were the zucchini fries, the flatbread, the chicken skewer, and the taramasalata dip. Service is really great as well, they come and check in on your often!
My friend and I who are birthday twins, down the same birth year convinced me to come here, and so happy I did!! We were seated on the patio right against the edge over looking the amazing view and beach. Food and drinks were amazing. The service was great. Park downstairs in the building, valet is $10 and convenient! The valet guys are so sweet as is the staff in the lobby greeting you to come in. Love the music they play there and standing in the elevator the music starts off the vibe to a great experience. Make sure you make reservations. We got in since it was still early in the day but it is a new place and will get busy!
Came here with a cousin who I hadn't seen in a few years. You can never really go wrong coming to this rooftop, regardless of what name it's currently under. If you're into rooftops,l particularly those that oversee large bodies of water, this cannot be beat. I closed things out with a nice bottle of still water and cuz ordered a few alcoholic drinks. And while we just happened to pop in without a reservation, there was ample room to stand around the perimeter of the flowery garden like thing in the middle. Even when this location was previously known as the High Lounge, or High Lounge Rooftop, they would often feature DJs particularly when the weather was great outside. You would think with the Coachella music festival going on that there would have been ample seats and tons of space to move around, but that was not the case. This place was pretty packed! All in all, another solid outing at this particular rooftop. What staff they did have seem to be buzzing around like super busy bees, tending mostly to those seated with reservation, which is understandable. Without being seated via reservation you'll have to head straight to the bar, minimizing any significant interaction with the staff as a whole, except of course the bartender himself. I would place this rooftop in a top five with regards to So Cal rooftops, and #1 if water is your thing.

Ora King Salmon | Shared | I had been to Kassi before, because of an event, and I knew right away that I would order the Salmon Skewer again, as it was delicious, as well as flavorful! Seasoned with perfection, as well as a delicious lemon-y flavor! Greek Fries | Shared | Thick & flavorful, alongside lemon aioli, za'atar & thyme! We both enjoyed the lemon-y flavor, as it stood out immensely! Zucchini Chips | Shared | I highly recommend, flavor upon flavor, alongside feta & za'atar! Yum! Customer Service | Incredibly attentive, as both of our servers, one in training, checked on our table often! Both were friendly and conversation flowed easily! Though it wasn't cold, it was quite windy, so they offered us each a blanket to keep warm! Super sweet! We were both grateful for the blankets! Upon Arrival | My sister-in-law landed at LAX, had eaten on her flight, but we both decided on a light bite to eat at Kassi, which is on Venice Beach! She dropped off her luggage at my place, and we proceeded to walk up the Venice Boardwalk! I checked online for reservations, and there was only one left, so we just took a chance! We took the elevator to the rooftop and we were seated immediately! Reservations | I highly recommend, as this place can get very busy, as it was tonight, even though it was quite windy! There was a private party, as well as numerous tables filled with excitable guests! Scenery | I had been to the rooftop before when it was another name! The views are absolutely incredible, 360° views, including the oceanfront! Gorgeous at sunset, & spectacularly lit all around at night! Overall | Great customer service, incredible views, all around and memorable bites! I'm grateful that Kassi is near, as it was a great place to take my sister-in-law on her first night in town! Score!
A great rooftop, great vibes, good sounds, and ven better drinks... I happened to not get flicks of that because I was in the moment, I also had the cucumbers 7.8 / 10 but after I added some more salt, 8.5 / 10 I believe the only drink I had was the Cadallac Marg 7.8 / 10 but going for the straight Ocho Repo did me better... also the Bottled Still of Aqua Panna. Our waiter was so cool by the way! She is actually the reason for the high rating and I wish I could remember her name right now.
Went here for drinks before dinner on Valentine's Day and it was very popular! Probably because it has a great view of the sunset & ocean. We enjoyed our drinks but be sure to wear a coat because it did get pretty windy and chilly up there! I believe the servers will bring you a blanket upon request though. I'd recommend this as a date spot or as a place to bring people visiting from out of town. The views are the best part, and the drinks were solid. My fiancé is very picky on espresso martinis as she only likes the ones with real espresso, and they passed the test.
Make a reservation! We saw people being turned away at the door. A few things went well for us when we visited for our anniversary- the view, the gluten free fries (the server was very knowledgeable), and the drinks (good but not especially unique). What I DIDN'T anticipate was how loud it was and the party atmosphere. There was a DJ set up and we were initially seated right in front of the speakers. We were able to move, luckily. I don't know why I expected a quieter, lowkey (aka romantic) vibe on a rooftop bar in Venice- it certainly wasn't that. But it WAS fun and great people watching!
Make a reservation!! Weekends are usually fully booked with only a cancellation waitlist. There is bar seating available if you do not have a reservation. The drinks were very unique and delicious, and you can tell all of the bartenders love their job. It is a GORGEOUS location, offering a rooftop experience overlooking Venice beach. As a LA native, it really transported me to "vacation mode" instantly.
The views during sunset are so magical- it feels as if you escaped Cali and are now in a foreign beach resort. The long passageway feels as if you're walking down a pier. I am glad we stopped by at 530pm it was a beautiful sunset. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive; I made reservations at 6pm on a Friday night. There was a DJ on set which was pretty cool this brought the overall experience and ambience as if it was a party in a beach club. As For the food it is Mediterranean food, we ordered the gem salad ( apples, pine nuts with a creamy sweet and sour dressing), asparagus; served with these creamy yellow / orange sauce, can't describe the taste but it was savory, we also ordered the beef sirloin and honey chx skewers, calamari (1/10 but wish it was a bigger serving size). The drinks were refreshing- I can't recall the names. The parking lots nearby was $20 I don't think the hotel had any valet for the restaurant so this one hurt.
This was so much fun! An after dinner dessert. We went to this rooftop restaurant tonight after dinner. It was quite cold outside so they gave us blankets and then when some people under a heater left, they moved us to the outdoor heater area which was really nice! My husband got the "deconstructed baklava" which he said was really good. I didn't want anything because I was too full and a bit cold so I had a cup of hot tea which was perfect for a cold night. Everyone working there was so nice. We are glad we tried it and look forward to eating there again!

Amazing view and vibes - recommend making a reservation bc it gets packed, especially around golden hour. Drinks/food are pricey as expected but worth it for the vibes. Parking can be difficult in this area, the nearby lots will charge $10+ an hour. This is the perfect spot to bring your friends who are visiting LA!
I popped in her for lunch courtesy of a Yelp Elite event and 10/10 will absolutely be coming back. I'd been to High a few times in the past (solely for the view after the first time) and the food/drinks were a total bust and you basically were just coming for the view. But Kassi has done a COMPLETE 180!! Aesthetic/Decor/Seating: she's giving like OG Bungalow (but less nuts) + soft Mallorca beach club energy. They had a DJ set and the intimate seating areas all along the side of the walkway are super cute. I recommend trying to get a table on the north or west side for the views. Absolutely wear sun screen/have sun protection if you're sensitive to sunlight as not every spot is shaded. There's also standing room at the bar if you just want to come for drinks, music and the views. Customer Service: 10/10 - the two gals at the host stand were super sweet and well organized in greeting guests and getting them seated. George took my drink order and then passed off to Jasmine how was my server for the majority of my meal. Honestly bravo on hiring both of these individuals! George appeared to also be moonlighting as a tour guide with the table next to me and was giving them great tips on spots in Venice as he was pointing out from the roof top view. He was very attentive and thoughtful and was nice enough to move me to a shaded seat once a table opened up. Jasmine was very thoughtful and friendly and knew the menu items well! She gave great recommendations and overall stellar customer service. Food/Drinks: I ordered the crudite with whipped avocado, gem salad, salmon skewer (Jasmine's recommendation) and the Ginger spritz (spacing on the name) mocktail. Overall the food was very well prepared, I would just make a few minor tweaks. The crudite and whipped avocado was my absolute fave I could have made a meal out of that combo alone. The salmon I was pleasantly surprised I was worried it was going to be a bit dry but was cooked perfectly and also paired well with the whipped avocado. The gem salad (although still good) was my least favorite. I think the melon was unnecessary and took away from the salad + it could have used a pinch of flaky salt on top. The mocktail was a smidge on the sweet side for my liking but still good. Parking: I would give yourself an extra 10+ mins for parking and just plan on parking in one of the paid lots. I parked in the one on N Venice Blvd ($20 for the day). Yeah it's a lot but this is standard for visiting this area of Venice so I'd just embrace it if I were you. Location: Kassi is on the rooftop of a hotel and if the hotel is busy it can be a smidge chaotic getting up to the rooftop but overall no major hurtles. There was a trash/sewage odor in the hotel on the elevator ride down which was a bit of putting so hopefully they get that fixed soon. Overall: 10/10 for the food/drinks, amazing views of Venice and beyond an exceptional customer service from the team! This place has only been open for about 2 months and is no doubt going to be POPPING OFF soon once more people catch wind of it. Don't say I didn't warn you and absolutely you need to make a reservation for weekends (yes even lunch) and dinners. read more

My friend and I came here for dinner and the vibes were perfect for a Friday night out. The rooftop is breath taking and beautiful. The menu was a Mediterranean tapas style, with shareable dishes. The view is great! Can't argue with that. The service was pretty solid too!! The food and drinks were underwhelming for the price and portion size. So don't go here starving. Calamari(3/5) Fries(3.5/5) Chicken skewer (4.5/5) flavor only! 1 skewer for $17 or so bucks is wild Beef skewer (4.5/5) flavor only! Same as chicken for the pricing and portion Penicillin with Japanese whiskey was weak - do not order if you love whiskey because you wouldn't know its in the drink Old fashioned- also underwhelming so i switched to beer. read more

Beautiful restaurant with some of the best views of Venice Beach! Service here is wonderful, they are so friendly and helpful here. The entire restaurant is stunning as it is located on the rooftop of the hotel Erwin. I suggest ordering a variety of dishes and sharing amongst your friends and family to be able to taste and experience the most of what they have to offer. The cocktails here were also absolutely delicious! Wonderful option if you are looking for a meal with a view in Venice Beach, highly recommended! read more

The food, the views, and the vibes were incredible. The pomegranate mule was delightful. The hummus with the flatbread was amazing on its own, and then the orzo was on a completely different level. When I tell you I was eating up this hummus and orzo like I hadn't eaten in five days, I mean it. Maybe it was the drinks flowing, but the food was genuinely outstanding. A solid 10/10 and I would definitely come back. The rooftop was stunning, with heat lamps that kept it warm and cozy, and the views were breathtaking. Watching the sunset from there made the experience even more special. read more

Heard about the new Kassi Beach Venice from the team at Belles and stopped by for lunch today. The space is really nice--open and relaxed, with a laid-back beach vibe that fits the neighborhood well. The view is actually insane. We shared a few dishes: all the dips, some of the skewers, and a spanakopita-quesadilla kind of dish that ended up being our favorite. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and easy to enjoy. Service was friendly and the pace felt easy, even though it was starting to fill up. Kassi rooftop in Venice is an absolute gem. The Mediterranean food is outstanding, the cocktails are refreshing and well crafted, and the ambiance is perfect for just about any occasion. My personal favorite drink was the Japanese Penicillin, it's so good I'm still thinking about it. Our lovely server, Angel, was incredibly helpful with menu recommendations and made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. We went with the chicken kabobs, orzo, and salad, plus the extra hummus and yogurt dip--everything was delicious, satisfying, and beautifully prepared. Between the exceptional hospitality, inviting atmosphere, and excellent food and drink options, Kassi is a place I will absolutely be returning to. Highly recommend! Putting this in my list of favorites! read more

I had a great time here on a Saturday evening! We ordered drinks and had some dips with bread and crudités. Everything was delicious. We got great service from Cole. I had the watermelon margarita and I thought that was a bit too sweet. They had a DJ but I think the power went out at some point and the DJ had to stop for about 30 mins. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Immediately we were greeted with the friendliest wait, who was so knowledgeable about the menu. He gave us great recommendations for small bites and drinks. Though I'm more of tequila gal, I ordered their velvet foam as suggested by the waiter and my immediate thoughts were, WOW! The foam was so delicious, and the vodka paired perfectly with the ingredients. Of course we had to flame here at the perfect golden hour time, the rooftop bar had a great view of the La skyline+ beach. I loved the Greek fries, with their Za'atar dip, so delicious! read more

Gorgeous views!! If you're looking for a panty dropper sunset while sipping fancy and fun cocktails and listening to solid vibes, or you're just in need of a new backdrop for your next profile photo, this is the spot! I probably wouldn't plan a proposal here but I'd definitely plan a large gathering of friends. Also, the food was absolutely bomb! Not gonna lie, I went in with low expectations - rooftop restaurant in a touristy part of Venice beach with club vibes, you get the gist - but was soooo pleasantly surprised! The salmon and honey chicken kebabs were insanely tender and juicy. The garlic bread with whipped avocado also hit the spot. While the servers were super busy, once we were able to order, the food came out within minutes. I'd definitely goo back. read more

Amazing views, vibe, and service. Our waiter was awesome and one of the friendliest humans I've met in a long time. The views are incredible and I loved that when we went around 1pm on a Saturday it didn't have too many people. We were also able to walk in with no reservation. I don't know how long that will last but it was special! The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the drinks were all just not cold enough. Especially since it's on a rooftop I expect more from the cocktails and prosecco - everything should be ice cold! Other than that it was wonderful and the food was good too. read more

Parked in the neighborhood and walked over, needed to have a reservation to be let up to the restaurant, or at least the man at the elevator asked if I had a reservation and I said yes, so I'm assuming that during peak times, they only let people up with reservations. Absolutely GORGEOUS view and rooftop. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our dinner here, particularly since we were able to see the sunset! We tried the orchard adaptogen cocktails, calamari, taramasalata (smoked fish dip with an order of bread (bread doesn't come with it) and a beef skewer. The cocktail was fresh, the calamari gave bang for our buck, and my boyfriend devoured the taramasalata. The bread was like a thin naan and great for the spread. They were out of the salmon skewer, so the beef skewer was recommended to us by our waitress, and it was juicy and had a nice, light marinade on top. We found street parking and walked over but the hotel has valet parking. The team members who helped us were all super chill and friendly. The crowd was young, Westside professional (at least that's what it was on a Tuesday evening). I'd come back again for sunset views and stellar vibes. read more

Everything we ordered I would recommend and order again. We sat in the middle of the rooftop and it is much larger than I originally thought. I was really excited to try Kassi because I love Elephante and had heard it was the same owners. I went on wed December 10th at around 8 pm, and I honestly left shocked by the staff. Our waiter was the only kind and helpful person we encountered the entire night. Everyone else from valet to reception to the hostess was some of the rudest and most unwelcoming customer service I have ever experienced. The behavior across the board was so off putting that it completely overshadowed the night. It felt like everyone hated being there and was annoyed by guests even asking simple questions. No one offered help, no warmth, especially the hostess who couldn't even bother to say hello. As an LA native this experience was honestly surprising because it's the opposite of what you expect from a restaurant with this kind of reputation. The food was good and the design of the restaurant is beautiful, but this level of customer service makes it really hard to enjoy the space. They need to focus on hiring better staff or setting higher standards because I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone until that changes. read more

The food service and ambience here were excellent. I came here with some coworkers for lunch. They are from out of town and I don't get to see them very often so it was a special occasion. I sent them 4 options for lunch and they chose this place mostly for the beautiful views. However, the food was yummy and we weren't disappointed. Everything was fresh, light yet filling. One of my coworkers is gluten-free and there were plenty of options for her. The steak kebab and honey chicken kebab was delicious but I particularly enjoy the crispy French fries, hummus and flatbread. The views were outstanding and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice happy hour and relaxing lunch. $15 valet so I would recommend finding parking somewhere else if you don't want to pay that price. read more

This review is from a complimentary Yelp elite event, all my thoughts are my genuine thoughts. Overall, super great ambiance, portions are smaller as a tapas kind of vibe, super great for a friends hang out/ happy hour. THIS IS GREAT FOR INSTAGRAM PICTURES!!! Entrance: Kassi is right off the Venice boardwalk inside Hotel Erwin. Super easy to find once you know where you're going -- just head to the front of the hotel and check in with the lady outside (tell her it's for Kassi). Then you take the elevator up to the 6th floor. If you're walking from the boardwalk (like I did), look up for the tan umbrellas on top of the building so you know you're in the right spot, then loop around to the front to enter. Ambiance: As soon as you step out of the elevator, you're hit with this gorgeous view of Venice Beach. Total photo-op spot. I checked in with the hostesses and only waited a couple minutes before getting seated. My table was off to the side and had an amazing view of the ocean, boardwalk, and the skatepark. One tip I'm glad I read from another Yelper: WEAR SUNSCREEN. It's all outdoors and depending on the time of day, you're definitely in the sun. Perfect vibe but you'll fry without protection. Dress code is pretty flexible, but dress up if you can. I saw everything from people in beach cover-ups and wet hair to girls in full-on dinner dresses with glam makeup. Overall, about 70% of people looked like they were dressed for Instagram -- at minimum, nice jeans and a cute top will fit in, but I really recommend a nice dress/outfit. This is where you & girlies would go for cute brunch pictures in nice outfits!! Staff: My waitress, Sofia, was the sweetest. Super kind and helpful with recommendations, especially for drinks and food. She checked in on us a few times but never rushed us, which I loved. Drinks: I ordered the Watermelon Cucumber Spritz ($11) and the Oracle of Delphi ($18). Drinks came out fast even though the bar area was packed (Sunday at 6 PM, totally full). The cucumber spritz was light, refreshing, and perfect in the sun. The Oracle of Delphi was also really good -- Sofia sold me on it just by describing the ingredients. Drinks are on the smaller side, but honestly, that's kind of the vibe when you're sipping cocktails by the boardwalk in Venice. Food: We went in on a bunch of dishes, the portions are a bit smaller since it's tapas style, but they were decently filling: * S&P Calamari ($18) -- honestly the best deal on the menu because of the portion size. Super shareable. * Hand-pulled bread ($5) -- kind of like naan but flatter. A little chewy/tough to tear apart, but still tasty, especially paired with... * Whipped avocado ($10) -- SO GOOD. I'm usually not a saucy person, but my partner and I literally cleaned the bowl. Huge thanks to Sofia for recommending this! We even started dipping our fries and calamari in it after the bread was gone. * French fries ($10) -- amazing when they first hit the table, crispy and hot. They do get cold/hard if you let them sit, so eat quick. * Beef tenderloin skewer ($16) -- exceeded my expectations. Portion is smaller (4 pieces of beef), but wow, the marinade and sauce were on point. The beef itself was super tender, no knife struggle at all. Overall: I'd definitely come back to Kassi. The food and drinks were solid, but the real star here is the ambiance and that view over Venice Beach. Staff was kind, service was easygoing, and the whole experience felt like a little escape. Pro tip: make a reservation, especially near sunset. Every table was booked. If you can't snag one, put yourself on the waitlist and hang at the bar until they can seat you. read more

You will want to try Kassi, Hotel Erwin's new rooftop restaurant. I haven't been to this spot in years, and it has definitely been upgraded. It still has amazing views, pro tip: plan it out - get a reservation so you can watch the sunset. With this new restaurant the food and drinks are finally worth coming back often. Everything is delicious- cocktails, mocktails and the food - and reasonably priced for what you get. I have already recommended this place to so many people. If you are looking for a new date night spot that will impress or just an upscale place to catch up with friends, I highly recommend Kassi. read more
Went for the 2nd time since new management group has taken over. Love this rooftop and they did a really nice job on the revamp. Comfortable spaces to hang all around. One of the all time best views in LA, even better with the ocean breeze. Venice looks gorgeous from above. I've been visiting this rooftop for many years and am very happy there's now great food available. The superstars at lunch were the calamari, Greek salad, flatbread and tzatziki. Yesenia at the front and our server Dorsa deserve accolades and recognition. The patience to deal with this sometimes entitled and demanding crowd! Rough to witness. Both were incredibly kind. The elevator is and will always be small and on the slow side, oh well. Best to not be in a hurry or take the stairs. It's a lovely spot. read more

I love this rooftop. It's the coolest rooftop in the west side right now for me. It's giving chill tulum vibes, I wish they had an all day dj. I came on a Friday at 4pm and it was already packed. I would highly recommend to get reservations. The drinks and food were delicious and my server was very chill and friendly. The food was very small, I wish they were alittle bigger portions so we can share more. read more

Chic rooftop bar in Venice with really great ocean front views. Ordered their elderflower spritz and my friend had the vanilla seafoam both drinks were great and refreshing. They only let you sit if you order food. Food seemed to be small tapa plates and appetizers didn't look too appetizing but would come back for drinks and the view. read more

Was staying at Hotel Erwin so we decided to watch the sunset on their new rooftop bar Kassi! Be sure to make reservations or else you'll only be able to stand in the bar area. I had requested in the notes for a sunset side table but was sat on the opposite side, luckily they were able to find me a new table. If you don't have a lounge table the seating is kind of tight. We ordered 4 drinks, lamb meatballs, and fried zucchini. Food was solid but the drinks were small and didn't have much alcohol for being $20 each. Overall it's definitely a place you come for the vibes, they have good music playing and the view is amazing. Grab some pizza downstairs at Pizza Girl after! read more

Amazing rooftop spot at Hotel Erwin! The view is unbeatable, you can see the ocean, the basketball courts, and the Venice Beach skatepark, which gives you that full Venice vibe. The atmosphere is fantastic with a live DJ, great energy, and the perfect mix of chill and fun. The food and drinks were awesome, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Definitely one of the best places to catch the sunset and enjoy the beach vibes from above. Can't wait to come back! read more

Parking-is it difficult and only hotel parking and expensive?
They do have valet parking at the hotel but we never used them. We were able to find street parking on multiple days but be sure to read the signs. There are also other lots you can choose and metered parking
