Inside | Absolutely beautiful, quite elegant & full of personality! Chocolate Ganache | Cake | I knew that I wanted the chocolate cake the moment I saw it on the menu! It is easily one of the most delicious slices of chocolate cake I've ever had, no joke! The slice was huge, the frosting was thick with fudge, and it was just so chocolatey with every bite! The name of the cake is exactly what it's titled "The Best I've Ever Had!" I also noticed that the cake is in the category of Vegetarian! There was so much flavor! When offered the toppings, I decided on almost all of them, except for the caramel and whipped cream! Hahaha! Wine | As suggested by the Bartender Extraordinaire, my BordeauxWine paired well with the Chocolate Cake! Seating | Cozy & plush! We sat at a table inside, near the bar! Customer Service | Everyone we encountered was friendly with a smile! Also, helpful with the menu, including the drinks! The DJ was friendly as well, and we enjoyed the variety of music he played! My boyfriend and I stop by here quite often for a quick drink or a coffee. We've never had a meal here, but we love the ambiance so much that whenever we are strolling on Ocean Ave, we usually decide to make a pitstop. For my coffee order I usually get an oat milk latte, which is absolutely fantastic. And for a cocktail, I tend to lean towards an espresso martini with reposado - also very good. For the price, the food and service were average. For appetizers, we ordered the grilled blue prawns, which were excellent -- perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and served in a beautiful sauce. For my main course, I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. It was creamy and flavorful, but a bit too salty and slightly too sour from the tomatoes. To finish, we ordered chamomile tea, which was served in lovely teapots. However, when placing the order, we asked for three teas, assuming the servings would be small. Instead, each tea came in a large teapot, which was more than enough for all six of us. It would have been helpful if the waiter had mentioned that beforehand. Restaurant is located in the lobby of the Georgian Hotel which looks like the set for a Wes Anderson film. We arrived at 7:30a for breakfast on a Sunday, so few guests were except one....morning that later. We were seated at one of the street facing tables with cushioned benches which was very nice. Menu was straight forward with typical fare done in their own way. I opted for omelette and my partner the French toast. Wait staff were super friendly and prompt, and food came out quickly. With first bites came the first comments from another guest seated nearby. A woman stating she was the grand daughter of General McArthur and that Kevin Costner was seated at our table the day before. Uh huh. The commentary and desire to engage in the middle of our meal never stopped. A couple was seated near us but quickly asked for a different table. And this is where what would have been 5 stars went to 3. She was clearly a regular and the staff seemed to indulge her with further conversation and seemingly no self awareness about how she was impacting guest experiences. For a $120 breakfast for two it wasn't the best experience and we rushed through the end of our meal to exit the situation. I would recommend the staff be more aware of these situations and recommend a different table or location. read more

So perfect especially on a nice sunny afternoon on the outdoor veranda with refreshing ocean breeze and delightful ocean view. I don't think there are many places that serve blue matcha latte, especially where I live. It's nice to always come back to Sirena for these indulgences. The martinis here are amazing lol also ended up getting the sweet potato crisps and calamari. Both were very good but the sauce for the sweet potato crisp stood out the most! Very delicious. Made reservations a for High Tea on a Sunday Afternoon. There are plenty of parking garages close by so make sure you plan in your walking time. We arrived an we're immediately seated in the outdoor area for tea. The first thing I noticed was at the table, didn't look the cleanest for such a high-end establishment.. the spacing was also tight to get in and out of our table which was the first one on the corner. The next thing I notice do was the beautiful view! I then took a look at the menu and saw that there were no teas listed. This was kind of disappointing. I like to see a list of the teas and a description of what teas are being served. Instead the waiter verbally told us what teas were available.. I went with a tea that was supposed to be yuzu but it was rather bland. The tower itself had rather generous portions. 3 scones is a lot, but they were some of the best scones I've had at a tea service. As I was eating there was one thing I bit into that tasted off. The salmon sandwich. It tasted as if the salmon had gone bad. My intuition was spot on as later that evening I had horrible food poisoning. So no matter how lovely the experience was and how delicious the desserts were that ruined it for me. read more

I had some family staying in Santa Monica for a few days, so when it came time to meet up with them for some breakfast we headed over to the The Georgian Hotel to grab some food from Sirena. Visually, this place is absolutely beautiful both inside and out, and thanks to the nice day outside we decided to eat on the outside patio. The menu here isn't massive, but had a decent selection and I settled on trying the breakfast burrito since it seemed like one of the smaller options on the menu. The breakfast burrito consists of slow braised beef short rib barbacoa, black beans, pico de gallo, cotija cheese, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, radish cilantro salad. I'm going to be honest here, I wasn't blown away by this thing and I'd go as far to say that I didn't enjoy it very much. The eggs didn't taste good, the meat was solid enough, but when everything mixed together it just tasted like something that was made, put in a refrigerator for a few days, and then eaten (I am NOT saying they did this, I'm simply saying that this is what it tasted like). I'm sad to type that about the food, but service on the other hand was very good. Overall, Sirena was a letdown for me and probably not somewhere I would revisit in the future. This place definitely checked the boxes for atmosphere and service, but the food just fell short. read more

Vintage Hollywood located beach front at Santa Monica. Stopped by for some drinks and appetizers. We were happily greeted and seated. Beautiful patio with amazing ocean views. The decor is charming and the vibe is great. Friendly staff and unique food. We shared fried castelvetrano olives which I've never had. I was very impressed. My friend ordered the Shore Thing only to be told that watermelon juice (a major ingredient of the cocktail) is completely out and no other juice can be used as substitution or it would taste weird. She just got a skinny spicy marg instead. Luckily for me, the Vice Versa tasted pretty good. I liked the banana cream daiquiri foam. (Came here early this October for a weekday brunch with visiting cousins.) This restaurant is located in a historic hotel. These days the term historic means an old building that is beautifully kept or renovated. In The Georgian Hotel's case, this hotel was built in 1933 which makes it 90 years old this year. I've never been to this place but its website said that they are newly renovated. The restaurant is located at the entrance of the hotel. Before you enter the hotel, there is outdoor dining. And when you enter the hotel, the rest of the restaurant is located there. The dining area is to your right, and there is a cool bar to your right. The check-in area is farther in. Décor - Needless to say is 5 stars. Service - Sad to say, their service needs to be renovated. It is spotty. The hostess was aloof. When I mentioned this to my sister, who used their valet-parking service, she said the valet staff was nice. Our waiter was nice too. However, certain things we ordered were slow to arrive or forgotten. We requested for extra toasts for the Burrata appetizer that we ordered. The toasts never came. Then I ordered a bread basket, and it took a while to arrive. Then towards the end of our brunch, my cousin's husband ordered a cup of cappuccino and it did not arrive. He had to ask for it again. For the restaurant service, they probably are understaffed especially considering that there were hardly any patrons at the restaurant. The staff at the check-in room was also aloof when I asked her a question. I probably interrupted her. (My rating for the service: 3 stars.) Food and drinks here are expensive (which is understandable because this is a beautiful hotel and with a nice view). I ordered a glass of chardonnay but I was given a glass of Chablis. It tasted so-so and the price was $28. We had appetizers and of course main courses. My plate of Salmon with broccolini and white beans was $32. The salmon was delicious but it had a couple of tiny bones. They had a pasta dish which they called Pappardelle - it was delicious with no buts. (Rating: 4 Stars) Ladies Room: Nice and clean (5 Stars) This place probably is straightening its kinks because, I imagine, when they got renovated they partially closed down. So the spotty service is understandable and, I'm sure can be corrected. read more

The food was good, but it was a little pricey for what we got and portion sizes. I suppose people who are eating here want the experience and the luxury, and care less about an innovative menu. Yesterday they were over fried, bland, and tasted like they'd been sitting uncovered in a fridge. Today, we asked to swap them for fries (even offered to pay extra), but the chef declined. We gave the potatoes another shot, and they were somehow worse,cold, stale, and inedible. Honestly, this Yelp review probably wouldn't exist if the chef had just made a simple swap. As noted in earlier reviews, the hotel is beautiful. The open patio has a fresh look to it, which we like. This used to be one of our favorite spots in Santa Monica for breakfast or lunch. Today, we tried the weekend brunch. I had the breakfast burrito. It was more like a regular burrito only mushy on the inside and loaded with black beans. I probably won't order it again. My wife ordered the crudite of market vegetables with hummus. She was looking forward to the hummus. Unfortunately, the portion was about the size of a plastic container with ketchup. It was so small, we asked for another portion of hummus. It never arrived. We will return to give The Restaurant at the Georgian another try. There are many items on the menu that appeal to us. Lovely patio as well as nice indoor atmosphere at this restaurant in Santa Monica at The Georgian hotel. It was recommended by a friend, so I tried it for brunch. They serve brunch until 2 on Sundays, so we went on the late side. Not too crowded, but appropriately busy. Perfect selections of brunch items, from healthy breakfast options to more classic egg dishes. The oysters we started with were on point, served with three topping options. My açaí and granola bowl was delightful as well. My friend had not been either, and he loved this new find. The service was excellent, too. Prompt, but not overbearing. Food is great here but watch out for inconsistent service. I dined here with my wife and our small, 10 pound hypoallergenic dog and we had a wonderful experience. My wife came back with a few friends and our dog again and was told that the dog could not be there. She said the staff was really cold to her and uninviting. It's interesting because the first time we were there our waitress even bent down to pet our dog. If she wasn't allowed there why did that happen? That's about enough for us not to come back. The food is great, but then again so aren't hundreds of other places in LA. Watch out how you treat your customers, especially during tough times like this. read more

First and foremost... beautiful hotel! Even the outside with robins egg blue is standout but in a classy old Hollywood way that adds a much needy flair to Santa Monica. Once inside you can tell that every style/decor choice was thought through from the cocktail bar, the restaurant, the bathrooms, and yes the perfectly styled 1930s uniforms they all wear, the bell hop--adorable. Now I have to admit I have only eaten in the cocktail area and drank at the bar. Why? Because I just love when you can eat at the bar it's such a vibe and this one in particular is so nice to sit at with the wrap around bar and the comfy swinging barstools why wouldn't you? The cocktail area is also cozy and has plenty of intimate booths that I find to be ideal for a date or fun night out with a friend where you can still be close to the action. The bartenders are also more than happy to take a dinner order and i have never had a problem with slow service. The cocktails: I've ordered five of their specialty cocktails at this point and the only one I didn't like was seasonal (no longe on the menu) and was just too bitter for me. However, their old fashioned delicious, the Shore Thing well balanced tequila drink with sweet watermelon and smoky chipotle, The Geez Louise delightfully light whisky drink with yuzu, and the Ruby Sipper strong but tasty. The Eats: Be warned it's a constantly changing menu so don't go in with you're mind set on one thing. I can't scream enough about their skillet baked focaccia just get it (if available). I worked at a family owned Italian restaurant for three years and this focaccia is the best contender yet. The bread is soft but just a bit crunchy on the edges and it melts in your mouth while the sun dried tomato and spices linger. The roasted cauliflower steak I was very hesitant about as I didn't think it could be a meal but I was proven very wrong. Surprisingly filling and so well flavored I forgot it was cauliflower. The bluefin tuna tartar is quite good, I'm not going to say the best as it's LA and let's be real I have had some good bluefin. That being said the crispy thin crust they serve with it does make up for it not being the best Bluefin I've had. Other eats: fingerling potatoes... pretty good. Ricotta and egg ravioli... would for sure get again. Overall great drinks, pretty damn good food (some dishes better than others), and enjoyable service though not the quickest they have always been more than kind and approachable. read more

This place is Gorgeous! It's located in the Georgian Hotel and the food was amazing! PS it was Dog friendly and we love that!!! The staff were so sweet and even assisted us with getting into the piano bar downstairs. You need reservations for both so book them in advance. We got lucky and they let us in to sit at the bar which was sexy! Three of us had lattes and our other friend had a bond with Natalia the Mixologist and she made him mixed drinks based on his aura There's also LIVE music by a pianist and it was so good. Picked this brunch places as there aren't many options in the area. I wish we would have gone elsewhere. Ambience is probably the only thing this place has... and even that, feels stuffy and pretentious. Asked for a drink menu, and didn't get one for 15 minutes. I ordered the grilled cheese which said came with a chili condiment (I think of a condiment as something that comes as a side option), and was surprised to find it IN the sandwich. For someone who doesn't like chili, this was very unpleasant. Also, seems like the cheese was only a dollop. Nothing that makes a grilled cheese. Menu said it was supposed to come with mixed greens, but instead it was brought out with fries. Also received a mimosa I didn't order. Received the bill, and there is an 18% service charge automatically added. This seems to be the norm lately, so I guess servers just don't care to do a decent job. Leaving, and not one person said thank you. And there were over 3 staff just standing around. Disappointed in this place overall.
