La Monique is one of those rare restaurants that transports you the moment you walk through the door. Though the space is small, it is breathtaking--stunning in a way that makes you feel like you've stepped into another city, another state... maybe even another era. It's intimate, romantic, and designed with such intention that it sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. Service was flawless. Christian was our waiter, and he delivered the perfect balance of warmth, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm for the food. It felt like we were being hosted, not just served. The food? Impeccable across the board. Even the sides were standouts--delicious enough to be entrées in their own right. The arugula and beet salad was the best I've ever had: bright, refreshing, and layered with flavor. The spaghetti pomodoro was beyond perfection, and the butternut squash agnolotti was the perfect taste of fall--so flavorful it could silence a table mid-conversation. And then came dessert. Just when we thought the meal couldn't get better, the pistachio ice cream macarons arrived...and wow. They are a must-order. Dreamy. Delicate. Unforgettable. La Monique is the kind of restaurant that doesn't just serve food--it creates a full experience. A place that lingers with you long after you leave. Already planning my next visit.

restaurant is located inside the hotel. There's valet and plenty street parking. The interior design is absolutely insane! It is a very intimate restaurant. The staff were so attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend getting a cocktail or two! The portions are one the smaller side but packed with flavor! Definitely recommend ordering the tartar!

Such a nice experience from start to finish. The lady at the front desk who checks you in was so kind. Service was excellent. Thorough, attentive and knowledgeable and passionate about the food. Steak was cooked perfectly. Im a fan of traditional escargots but the chefs take was interesting and worth to try. Cozy vibe inside. Not too busy yet, they're fairly new. Would highly recommend and definitely go back

Absolutely exquisite. I travel internationally every week. La Monique is truly a place that transports you to Paris. The food, the ambiance, the service is elite. Miles, our server was extensively knowledgeable in his recommendations of food and beverage...which were spot on. Highly recommend.

Not a pretty pic but escargot poppers

From walking into the hotel..charming with the fall touches, to going to a chic entrance to the restaurant, you feel transported immediately. Just a warm atmosphere and great service. This place has been only open under 2 weeks and they did not skip a beat. The escargot poppers were to die for. Just not pretty to take a picture of. Salmon and agnolotti were solid dishes and the crepe sushi with a new spin on dessert. Great service by Miles even with a fun forbidden rice story. Definitely will be coming back for the caviar service.

Escargot while creative plastic nylon moss, it gets stuck to the shells and ends up in your mouth

The Good: The space is gorgeous -- elegant lighting, art, and ambiance that promise a great experience. Service was friendly, but the food completely missed the mark. The Not So Good: Escargot came sitting on fake plastic grass that stuck to the shells. You should never put something not edible on a plate. That's a hazard. Caesar salad was really bad, pappardelle bolognese tasted canned with zero depth of flavor, and the pasta was shredding apart. The Wagyu flat iron was tough with overpowering peppercorn sauce, and fries arrived cold. The New York steak was fine but forgettable. Mac and cheese had a strange plasticky flavor if a plastic spatula was melted into sauce, and the broccoli never even showed up. The bread was the best thing we had. Drinks were overpriced, and the wine list was unreasonably a ripoff. For a bill that hit the thousands, it just wasn't worth it. Gorgeous space, but the kitchen and pricing need a serious reset. Super unfortunate, had high hopes for this place, but they're not gonna make it like this.

4.5 stars! Beautiful restaurant, decor and ambiance. We got the Pacific Loot cocktail and my bf got the coffee infused drink with banana and cinnamon which was amazing! The bread is complimentary and delicious! We got the chopped salad, the butternut squash pasta both delicious and the steak frites, which was ok. The ratatouille and Mac and cheese were delicious! Service was great and it's a beautiful cozy place. I'd like to go back and try the fish & some different things.

One of the best restaurants I ever been!!! What an amazing experience, me and my husband went there for his birthday and we enjoyed sooo much!!! The design of the place is so unique, The food is amazing taste and every dish we order was a pleasure and good surprise, our server was great he explained everything is good way and was passionate about it. The service was unbelievable compared to restaurants in the area, really recommended restaurant for a dinner or special event.

I was genuinely excited to try La Monique, and while the buzz alone set high expectations, the experience completely surpassed them. As with any great dining experience, service makes all the difference--and Chrystian delivered on every level. Attentive, knowledgeable, and bringing an incredible attitude and energy, he was on top of everything in a way that fully justifies the price point and reinforces why this place is truly top-notch. I observed the other servers and felt genuinely grateful to have been paired with him. Best in class service. A true five-star experience. Don't walk--run to try it... but only if you can get a table with Chrystian.

Mac Monique sandwich dessert was delicious

10/10!!! La Monique is inside the most beautiful hotel in Santa Monica. The space is stunning, no detail missed. It has a very classy vibe without being stuffy. The crowd and staff were also upscale, sophisticated and so pleasant- we wanted to stay all night! The cocktails were creative and definitely picture-worthy. The food was equally as good. Everything was beautifully plated and perfectly done. The escargot poppers are the best I've ever had! So crispy, buttery, and garlicky. I was also obsessed with the mini French onion grilled cheese.

So happy to finally have a restaurant on the westside where ambience, food and service are all a 10/10. Definitely my new go-to spot.

The ambiance is beautifully done, modern coastal. Perfect for a comfortable but elevated dinner. We started with the bread service, chili wontons, and gem lettuce. The bread service was my favorite, warm, soft, and the miso butter was divine. The chili wontons were also a standout, especially if you enjoy dim sum. They had great flavor and balance. The gem lettuce was fresh and simple, reminiscent of Jon & Vinny's in the best way. For entrees we had the butter shrimp and Scottish salmon, both really good, no complaints. But honestly the appetizers stole the show for me. Would definitely come back just to try more of the starters. Such a good spot.

It was a Saturday night and pretty empty, but we did go on the earlier side. Our server was also really friendly and attentive, definitely a highlight. The food just didn't hit for us. The bread service was disappointing and looked nothing like the photos we saw. Not sure if we got the wrong thing, but it wasn't good. The shrimp toast was decent but super heavy. The Caesar was not great, and no one mentioned it comes with whole anchovies on top. I'm fine with anchovy in the dressing, but the actual pieces were a lot. The chicken karaage was okay, again really heavy, but the sauce was the best part. We also tried the taco special which was just alright, nothing memorable. Overall, the vibe and service were good, but the food didn't live up to it. Probably wouldn't come back.

Tables looked available around 5pm though so walk-ins could be possible. Ambiance: Outside was nice and inside looked dimly lit and romantic. We were seated promptly and service was good. Food: Rice slushy had a strangely strong cinnamon-like taste to it that traditional rice punch doesn't have which was so overpowering, it made it difficult to go back for more sips. Oysters - good though small, enjoyed the kelp mignonette Korean Aguachile - Delicate tilefish completely overwhelmed by cold kimchi broth with actual icy slush in it and small amounts of fish Steak Tartare - The hot stone bowl seemed to defeat the purpose of a tartare, as it cooked the steak once mixed. The perilla leaves were also cut in large strips relative to the beef. Chilled Acorn Noodle - The perilla oil was nonexistent in flavor though the dish didn't need it and was good without. Overall, portions were small for the price and dishes weren't well-executed so despite being excited for more Korean options in West LA, I'd much rather make the drive to Koreatown for better portions, prices, and flavors.

The beauty of Mediterranean food is that it's perfect to share with large groups. Because I had some fellow vegetarians (and veg friendly people) with me, ordering was quite fun. We almost ordered every vegetarian mezze, which included: Mezze sampler: the Muhammara was my favorite of them all and the naan was amazing. Very soft, but flavorful. Sprouted cauliflower: interesting way they made it. Golden tahini had a nice touch. Pickled vegetables: loved them Greek fries: can't go wrong with that Roasted sweet potato: surprisingly quite good and a very different palate from the fries. Baked feta: interesting, but this wasn't a fan favorite amongst the group. While our non-vegetarian colleagues enjoyed the octopus, we were nearly full with just the mezze. We decided to go ahead and order the mushroom skewers while the other side enjoyed the tomahawk. Everyone was full after all this food. The cocktails kept flowing. I stuck with just one Urfa mezcalita while enjoying the views for the remainder of the night. This lasted until dessert where plenty were ordered. I got a chocolate gelato not realizing I'd get two scoops. Sadly I could only finish one scoop. Anyhow, there are heaters all over the rooftop so that people can enjoy throughout the year. They do have to crank it up as needed, but it's there. Can't mention price much because this was work sanctioned, but it was a great decision.

The views were spectacular, and while we were basically outside, there are plenty of space heaters to make you feel cozy. I highly recommend making reservations as this is a popular spot. It's located in the old Clock Tower building, and the Art Deco decor is absolutely stunning--dark enough to hide a bad day but vibrant enough for a girls' night. The Vibe: It's loud, lively, and perfectly "bohemian chic". If you're coming on a weekend, prepare for a crowd, but it's the good kind of crowded where everyone looks like they just came from a gallery opening. The Food: I'm still thinking about the Crispy Chicken Sandwich--it was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and came with a fennel-apple slaw that actually felt fresh. We also shared the Bacon Wrapped Dates (obviously) and the Hand Cut Kennebec Fries, which arrive in a bowl so huge it could basically be its own zip code. The Drinks: Their Happy Hour is arguably the best in the city. I had the Japanese Dream with matcha, and it was expertly crafted--not too sweet, which is my biggest pet peeve. The "Misfit" Moment: The service can be a tiny bit slow when it's "rammed," and there's a 4% kitchen fee that feels a bit unnecessary, but they make up for it with those complimentary sea salt chocolate chip cookies at the end. They are warm, gooey, and life-changing. One major heads-up: I heard a rumor they might be closing their doors on April 18th due to some landlord drama, so get there while you still can.
