What a wonderful dining experience! I went to Marelle with a group of six for brunch and had such a pleasant time. We made a reservation day of with no issues. The restaurant is located inside a hotel and does offer reasonably priced valet service. The restaurant itself is gorgeous! Beautiful on a sunny day. Outside dining tables have a partial view of the beach. There was also a live DJ playing upbeat music. Not too loud so you can still comfortably talk. Food wise, everything was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. I ordered the pancakes and chicken and loved it. The butter with it was incredible! I also tried a bite of the steak and eggs. This dish was also yummy! Let me tell you something... I enjoyed this place from the moment I walked in to the moment we walked out. Low-key, tucked away, and very much a hidden gem -- ya hear me? We started with the signature mimosa cart and the crab cake. Now let it be known -- I am a crab cake connoisseur and this one understood the assignment. Nicely crusted, flavorful, and paired with jalapeño aioli that I thoroughly appreciated. It also came with a red pepper, white corn, and mango mixture... I personally could've done without that, but no harm no foul. The mimosa cart was stocked with fresh fruit and juices, so naturally we each had a glass. We also ordered the Star of the Sea. It's vodka-based, which had me a little weary, but baby... the glass it came in was too cute. Tiny pour, big personality, and surprisingly tasty. Now let's get into the entrées ‍ I initially ordered the Crispy Jidori Chicken Sandwich, but unfortunately it was bland and gave me absolutely nothing. I only ate the fries and considered calling it a day. Thankfully, our server was super understanding and accommodating, so I decided to pivot and order the Seared Ahi Tuna instead... and let me tell you, it smacked my wig clean back. Came with a friend for the first day of DineLA and specifically said we were here for the DineLA lunch to the maître d'. He gave us the Chef's prix fixe menu also $35. We assumed it was the DineLA menu and ordered the shrimp toast (ok), Caesar salad (delicious and refreshing!), salmon tostada which was beautifully plated, but looked more like a taco - still good, but we had expected a tostada, and mini pastry trio (they were ok). We overheard the couple behind us ask for the DineLA menu, but was told by their server it didn't start until tmrw. They decided to order from the menu rather than the Chef's prix fixe. That's when we compared menus and saw the difference (see attached). The DineLA menu had short rib tacos but no salad, crab cakes, a steak sandwich and apple turnover for dessert. It was a better menu also $35. The server explained that the restaurant thought the DineLA started tmrw and wasn't ready with the items today. The DineLA menu clearly said daily and dates were promoted. Well, too late now. We sat on the patio to catch a glimpse of the ocean on this beautiful day. Large slices of salmon were in the sandwich along with avocado, bacon, beefsteak tomatoes with a tarragon aioli. Very good. The Chicken jidori sandwich had a large, jucy piece of chicken with a crispy fry on the outside. A really nice bite. The snakeriver farms burger comes with caramelized onions and a white cheddar cheese. Shady cooked well and tasty. Overall, great ambiance, especially sitting outside, with good food as well. I have to be so honest- I really wanted to love this place. We tried it when it was quite new so I'm hopeful it will get better! When we came we asked about the shell drink we had seen all over and they didn't have any because they had all broken. We tried the honey bee (the boys said it was just kind of lacking unfortunately, there wasn't a lot to it), La vie en rose (came with cute heart shaped glasses), and the out in the cosmos- both of those drinks were good but pricy for what you get. I enjoyed the hamachi crudo as a starter but the other 3 did not. We also had the chicken wings and we all enjoyed those probably the most out of everything! For our mains we all split the spaghettini, herb roasted chicken, and the steak. We asked for the steak medium rare and it came well done. The only good thing said about the meal was that the capers on the pasta were good- a compliment we all still laugh about today. It was a very expensive, underwhelming meal. As soon as I sat down he looked at me and goes "just let me know when you're ready" he didn't offer a menu or introduce himself at all. As he continues to slam things around the bar!! I wanted to order food but decided not to out of fear he might spit in my food with the way he was presenting himself! Let me start this review off by saying a lot like everyone else I was seeing this place all over Instagram and how beautiful the interior aspect of everything looked. It was 100% my vibe and definitely added to the list of places to check out. My boyfriend and I went this past weekend and our experience overall was "ok". It's relatively easy to get to and we ended up just doing valet parking which worked out so we didn't have to try to find any parking on the street. We got to our reservation and we were seated right away. Again beautiful interior, beautiful furnishings overall the aesthetic of everything was spot on. Our server was very nice, but I would say a little less than attentive. He came by once to take our drink order & keep in mind that they have a special seashell glass cocktail that they do charge $10 just to drink from I was told. He then came by a second time to take our order. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and my boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs. I was expecting a little more since this is a Michelin rated chef however I felt the flavor was lacking in both dishes. It wasn't horrible but again I was just expecting a little bit more wow factor and I don't feel like we got that. The drinks were OK. I would say it's nothing extreme or extravagant and the food was just "ok". After our waiter brought out our food, we never saw him again. We sat there for maybe about 35 minutes or so after the meal and my boyfriend was wanting to order another drink, but he had never came back around to check on us to see if we needed anything. We ended up having to ask another employee to let our server know that we wanted the check . Although it was none of our business, we could hear the surrounding tables around us complaining that they hadn't received their food in over an hour, and they had been sitting there before we were seated. I'm not sure what was going on. Maybe they were just short staffed but you could over hear multiple tables complain. We proceeded to leave and again a beautiful walk-through of the grounds very close to the beach. You can actually see the beach from the outdoor seating area as well as the pool. Maybe since this is a new restaurant that just opened they don't have the staff yet to accommodate but then you would think they wouldn't open yet? I think that played into a lack of service indefinitely. Maybe in the future they will have more people to accommodate the volume. If you definitely want that picture for the gram I definitely would say check this place out but food wise and drink wise. I feel that there are some better options nearby. read more

Hostess and servers were welcoming, super nice and attentive which is hard to find nowadays in LA.... sadly. Food was overall good. We got a bunch of appetizers to share (fries, burrata, brussel sprouts, chicken wings, meatballs, arancini). The meatballs and arancini were my favorite. The burrata was a disappointment. The burrata was tiny and only came with 5 small bread pieces. We also got two pastas which were good but not worth the price in my opinion. Saw this place all over Instagram, and to be fair, the ambiance is absolutely beautiful, with minimalistic, modern art deco and Tulum inspired furniture and fixtures overlooking a pool and the ocean. This is definitely a beautifully designed space that would ideally be perfect for relaxing and grabbing a meal/drinks with friends or on a date. I had high expectations for the food, as the restaurant is by the Michelin awarded Raphael Lunetta, and I've had a pleasant experience at his Lunetta restaurants in Santa Monica. However, the food and the drinks were abysmally bad, and I was VERY disappointed by the quality of what was being served. Hamachi crudo: I really enjoyed this at Lunetta, but what was served to me was NOT the same dish despite appearances. The hamachi was WARM and soaked in a salty brine, and the fruit did little to save this dish Avocado toast: avocado toast was decently well made, but for $16 without the $3 egg add on, it's definitely not worth the price point. Also came with a salad that was soaked in brine Fish tacos: this was the best dish out of the three, and while the ingredients were fresh and high quality, the flavors and textures were a bit disjointed and didn't go well together We ordered two drinks, and while the Honey Bee was well-made and refreshing, the drink with the rose-colored glasses straight up tasted horrible, like a shot of straight alcohol. We had to end up squeezing in the lemon from our fish tacos to save the drink, but it was definitely shocking that they would serve something like this to a customer. Overall, I would probably wait a few weeks for this spot to sort out its kinks before coming by here for a visit. There's a lot of work to be done to improve this restaurant, and I hope management takes into consideration the poor reviews and makes the necessary changes. read more

My sister and I wanted to workout at the beach so I made rezzos on Open Table (super easy, check in was a breeze) for this place. It was everything ambience wise --every room was curated perfectly for a photo opp. The breeze was blowin. The sun was shinin. It was chef's kiss in that regard. The host greeted us and was receptive to us multiple times as well as a super kind server who was actually helping the other side. I wish I took their names. Instead, our server who was an older man (not noting his age for any reason besides I didn't take his name) took our order and never once came by until 50 (I checked my photos that I took because we checked in around 11:25 early for our 11:30 reservation and were starving so immediately placed our food order with the beverage order) minutes later when we had flagged down the host and the other server to look into why our food was taking so long. Food finally came at 12:20...pancakes, breakfast sammie, avo toast. They were all solid except the pancakes were overdone--maybe they were done but just plated and waiting to be served. I'm bummed because the place was gorgeous and the dj was rockin and the environment was great. If only all the servers were on the same page for the price we're paying. He did end up taking off a dish off our bill but I would have rather paid fully for better service. read more
