It's a chilly early spring day and their Lobster Bisque was perfect. The butter is perfect too. Every detail covered. I'll be back for their 37€ prix dice dinner.

Little did I know this was the restaurant where my Opa proposed to her - what a beautiful surprise!!! The location is remote, peaceful and the grounds of the restaurant are beautiful (including a garden where they grow some of their own produce). The service was attentive, friendly and respectful. We went for the largest tasting menu with wine pairings - the pairings were also very well received (my oma mentioning she did not like red wine much, but after her first taste said "this is pretty good I think I could like this"). The food was truly gorgeous, thoughtful and technique driven without being overbearing. The ingredients were fresh and I still recall (a year later) the langoustine, foie and green apple dish that was the stand out of the night -- that's my kind of surf n' turf. It is experiences like this that remind me why the Michelin guide might be so stingy in cities like Chicago - because the food here was truly on a different level and wildly deserving of a star. DELICIOUS!!!!

Excellent Cuisine in a Cozy and Elegant Atmosphere…read more Five of us ate here for a family dinner after a special event. I had taken a peek at it in the daytime, but can say that it far surpassed my expectations in atmosphere, service and cuisine when we went there for our dinner. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, but elegant. When you dine there, you feel that this is a special place. The lighting was intimate, but not to dim to make it hard to see or too bright so as to white-out the atmosphere. The furnishings and place settings we're tasteful. The food was excellent. We all had mostly different dishes, from meats, to fish, and everyone thought his or her dishes were excellent. The courses were presented beautifully and served with the right amount of attention so as to be neither intrusive nor lacking.

A nice restaurant for lunch and dinner, suitable for business as well as romantic get-togethers. The atmosphere is trendy-cosy. In winter you enjoy a drink close to the fireplace and if the weather is good you can dine outside. That is what I did today starting with oysters after the amuse. They serve two kinds of oyster (gotta love this place), so we had a mixture of both with a nice wine to support the flavour. We continued with lobster and a fabulous white Rioja. The cheese platter was a great third course and a great combination served with the right companions like figues, nuts, marmalade, etc and off-course a good glass of port. Service is very good and the owner really took time to tell the story of how he built this place, still keeping an eye on the other guests and if all was going well. Enjoyed his story and entrepreneurship, but most of all his food. The lobster was cooked a bit too long, but that is forgiven.
