    Jager schnitzel and potato pancake

Wonderful jager schnitzel and delicious potato pancake to complement. Wish there was red cabbage but overall highly recommend.

There's no ordinary food from this truck; but there is ordinary German food, or rather slightly Americanized versions of it: Brats and jäger schnitzel, primarily. It's not light eating. It's hardy, filling, and with a tame flavor profile for those used to hot or spicy or both. The flavors are more subtle. On this, the mushrooms were large chunks, the schnitzel in small bite-size pieces with a light breading. The spätzle were just the right kind of firm doughiness that didn't stray into rubbery or chewy. The mushroom sauce was a nice flavor add. There was a lot of spätzle, though. If you try something from Kat-n-Around, spend the half dollar and get the sauerkraut. This sauerkraut put the "sour" in sauerkraut. Served warm in a small container, it was truly pucker-worthy and just the right contrast to the flatter flavors of the schnitzel and spätzle. Maybe that's why all of this German-style food pairs well with beer. The pretzels are from Guglhopf and served with the brown mustard on the side. The brats are from Weeping Radish, and the owner, Kat, is a native German who knows how to pull it all together. It's a cash-only food truck, so come prepared.

Kay-n-Around is a wonderful food truck. I have had almost everything on the menu and have not been disappointed! Hopefully you can catch Kat-n-Around at a brewery to enjoy a cold beer with her amazing food!!

Delicious and unique fare at this local food truck…read more Online ordering easy using Streetfinder app. Food ready on-time and piping hot, service welcoming and friendly. The menu is pork-centric, featuring several varieties of thinly pounded pork chops. Tried 2 of them. The first is a char grilled boneless pork chop, topped with pickled peppers, arugula. It's served on ciabatta bread, slathered with a sambal-based aioli. The meat is tender and moist, the aioli just spicy enough to stimulate the taste buds. The second is Korean-marinated pork, topped with pickled carrots, Korean radish & cilantro. The marinate adds a touch of sweetness, which contrasts beautifully with the tangy pickled carrots and tart radish. Shout out to the arancini (deep fried risotto balls). Golfball sized dollops of soft, creamy, cheesy risotto are breaded and deep friend golden brown. Crunchy outside, succulent on the inside, 4 to the serving. Yum! A variety of delicious and unique offerings. Check out this food truck when you see them. Good stuff!

Food Truck Time: Pounded Pig at Fainting Goat Brewing Company…read more I really like the pig butt logo, it is super cute. This food truck offers pork sandwiches and a few sides. My husband and I split the Korean pork sandwich, roasted pork with eggplant sandwich, arancini (with mushrooms) and fried taties (no pork added). The food was good, our favorites were the arancini and pork sandwich with eggplant. Check them out if you are at a brewery that they coming to.

All good but al pastor was AMAZING. Delicious as heck, get all the sauces and lather it up. Tortillas didn't fall apart either; they're thick and strong like handmade.

I always passed by this place northbound on 401 heading to downtown Raleigh. Always wanted to try…read morethe food. Thought it might just be authentic because it looked similar to food trucks I grew up with in Los Angeles. Finally paid a visit. Let me tell you; the food is really authentic and delicious. Had the best authentic Mexican food in the streets of Santa Ana, El Monte, San Diego and the stuff they dish out from a small window out of this van is the same quality. Don't let looks deceive you. Great food does not always come from expensive restaurants. Greater food does come from a van on the side of the road! You can't go wrong with the following tacos: Chicharrones, Al Pastor (pork), or Lengua (tongue). This is not your "kindergarten" yellow, hard-shelled, folded taco with who knows what kind of ground meat. This is homestyle barrio taco, the way it should look like and taste. If you muster up courage to eat next to a van down by the rive...oops, side of the road in an auto shop parking lot, you are the few, the proud, the satisfied. And your wallet will also thank you for it.
