Grabbed lunch from here recently and had a decent experience. First, a warning! I ordered my food online using the website, and I received an email and text confirming my order. My pick-up time was set for 5 minutes after I sent the order, which was pretty solid. Unfortunately, when I walked in to get my order, the cashier apologetically told me that they hadn't seen the ticket because it doesn't automatically print from website orders. If you do use the website, you should also call them to let them know that you ordered something, which kind of defeats the purpose of using the website I guess. To their credit, the cashier did offer me a free drink while I waited, so I appreciated that. I was a little worried that the location would be confusing since it's inside the Ford dealership, but it was actually really easy to find. Just walk in and look for the sign :) I grabbed a red hot and white hot (which are hot dogs, for the uninitiated!) and macaroni salad for my side. Despite the snafu described above, the food was prepared reasonably quickly, and I took it home to eat. Overall, I thought the hot dogs were pretty decent, but the macaroni salad lacked flavor. It tasted pretty fresh but needed salt or something else to elevate the taste. Overall, I would probably come back here, but maybe for an in-person meal, and I'd try something else. Food: My husband swears by the French toast as the best he's had, ever. As a vegan-ish I found the menu very limited. Service: Fast casual - order at the counter then the food is brought to you. Perfectly usual service. Ambiance: It's in the middle of a car dealership?! How cute! My older son loves looking at all the cars and they also have an indoor playground nearby at the service center. It's very kid-friendly which is harder to find than you'd think and so very appreciated. My family likes this place a lot! read more

Mustang Charlie's is located inside the Crossroads Ford dealership in Apex. The diner has a classic feel and the service was really outstanding. I had never been so was not sure what to order. They serve breakfast all day, the famous Rochester NY trash plates, sandwiches, burgers, salads, etc. I ordered a burger with classic fries and a chicken cheesesteak with home fries. The burger was tasty and I would order it again. The classic fries were not good . The chicken cheesesteak was average. Next time I will order the breakfast platter to try the omelet. They are closed on Sundays. The gentleman taking the orders was really kind and helpful and the restaurant was very clean. Awkward and fun location! The food menu is super extensive that it's overwhelming. It seems like their thing is that they save breakfast all day. No one was in the diner on a weekend dinner time other than a Ford employee. It's as if everyone knows who walks thru the side door is there for the diner. Felt awkward at first, but it feels just like any other diner when you go in the restaurant. The food quality was hot and fresh but nothing to write home about. It seems their food quality is reliable that you'll get what you ordered. It tasted exactly what I thought it would. The menu is priced fairly in my opinion and you can have a very full meal under $12 per person. read more

It's inside a Ford car dealership. My grandson loves walking g around and checking g out the cars. I tell him he can not touch the paint so he goes around and touches the tires. They have a small climbing area with slide for children too. It's a place you can bring children too and it's ok. They have one of their TV's tuned to cartoons. read more

Food wasn't anything special, you order at the counter and grab all your own condiments so there isn't really a service aspect. Tried the Friday night Haddock special last Friday and was pleasantly surprised. Each piece of haddock was fully breaded and cooked like a fully breaded picked of fish should be. No doughy breading on either of our pieces of fish......Just nice servings that we thoroughly enjoyed. The sides are really an afterthought with each serving about the size to feed a toddler.......but we were there for the haddock and were pleased with our fillets. If you've previously been to Charlie's you already know that you're not getting a fine dining experience......but you're not paying for a fine dining experience either. Very fairly priced fish dinner.....in fact my wife and I could probably have shared a single serving as we ended up taking almost a full fillet home with us. Great service and yes......plastic utensils with ketchup and tartar sauce in fast food "rip open with your teeth" packets....buy hey it's all part of the leisure experience isn't it. Well we aren't Ford fans but we ARE the newest fans of Mustang Charlie's! The place was clean and friendly, huge menu with breakfast anytime. The dining area could use a mural or some plants (or both) to make things look a little less medical but the food was good! Glad we finally gave it a shot; the location is unique but totally a nice and casual spot for a meal... And then you can walk it off in the big shiny showroom, lol. BLT with an egg added, quite excellent, onion rings were a bit oily and could use some seasoning but I enjoyed their size and texture a lot. First time coming in to eat in the restaurant vs ordering it to-go or doordash. The food was okay the last time I tried and decided to give it another try there. Other reviews hit the nail on the head with the unique vibe of being adjacent to the showroom floor. It is certainly clean and the open kitchen is nice to watch as food is prepared. I ordered the meat trash plate off the breakfast menu and it was good. Flavorful and something different from traditional breakfast with most of the same ingredients. With it being a hybrid between counter and table service, it's tough because expectations are different. I think the staff does a great job and I got a refill on my coffee. Most of the business is clearly dealership workers and customers along with takeout. Those just coming in to eat get lost in the shuffle and it's never good to feel out of place going to eat somewhere. Diner atmospheres have to make you feel welcome. read more

What an average experience for a restaurant that's decorated like a diner and has a fun diner-ish menu. The reality is that while the place looks like fun, the food seems like fast food. I had eggs, toast, and grits, and my husband had eggs, bacon, grits and pancakes. It was all just OK, and not that it matters but seemed like a random bit of carelessness, my piece of bread was toasted with the end piece. To add seasoning, we were presented with a miniscule paper packet that had pepper on one side and salt on the other. The cutlery was plastic, sealed in clear plastic. The food was served on disposable plastic plates and bowls; the cups were styrofoam. And that's what left me with a sad, disappointed feeling: that I thought I was going to a diner that would have real china and metal cutlery, and instead I left having contributed to the landfill. read more

Met a friend here for breakfast this morning. Traffic in the restaurant remained steady and the service was fast. The staff was super friendly and they did a good job making sure the restaurant stayed clean. I got the ham trash plate and it was just okay, but I wouldn't order it again. I wasn't a fan of the mustard they put on top of the eggs and everything tasted super salty. I'd go back and try something else from the menu. Overall, I'd rate my experience as 3/5 because of the food. read more

We wanted to try something new And different and remembered reading about Mustang Charlie's. What's unusual about it is it's in the Crossroads Ford dealership in Apex. They're not associated with them, but that's where their location is. They also have a food truck called Trash Talk. We were there for breakfast and my spouse got eggs, bacon, and potatoes with toast. She enjoyed the eggs and bacon, but the potatoes were extremely salty so next time she'll ask for no salt. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on rye that was very good and it had two eggs on it. I also got a pancake that we shared that was very good and crispy on the edges. The food is served on disposable plates with cutlery and cups of the same. I don't know if they do free refills on the coffee cos we only drank one cup. They have a self serve station for creamer, condiments, pancake syrup, etc. For people from Rochester they have a garbage plate, which I'd never heard of. I posted a picture of what it is for others unfamiliar with it. Definitely unusual as regional foods sometimes are. The staff is friendly and the food is all cooked to order in a timely manner. We'll come back and try more selections off the menu. Maybe the fried haddock, which is hard to find here. read more

A diner, inside of a Ford dealership, yep! And, it's actually really good. It's in the back of the showroom which is huge! I went there yesterday as part of a car club meetup (Heart of Carolina Mustangs). The group meets there occasionally for breakfast but this was my first time here. The place was busy already at 9:00am and the group I was with added to that. However, the food orders came out quick. I went with the mushroom, spinach and feta omelette with a side of bacon and home fries. It was really good and everything was cooked to order. The prices here are reasonable ($10-$15) and there are free coffee refills. Oh, no purchase of a new car necessary to visit the diner. It's open to the public. read more

If you've ever been to Western NY and had a garbage plate, then you know how this mess of a plate is somehow the perfect mixture of oh so bad, yet oh so good food. Mustang Charlie's is very hidden - like so hidden you need to go inside a car dealership in order to get to the restaurant. However, it is a great little spot for a casual bite to eat. read more

The low down: good food, good prices, mostly good service(I'll explain in more detail below) and YES, this Diner is INSIDE the car dealership. (Smart thinking Ford). Also, when you walk in, go straight up to the counter and place your order versus sitting down. Also, try the fresh-baked cookies! I met a friend for breakfast and we wanted to try somewhere new. Wish that I had checked other Yelp reviews fully to understand this place was INSIDE the car dealership so we wouldn't have had to make 4u-turns and a drive-by thinking it didn't exist anymore. Once We found this hidden little gem, we walked inside. It's set up much like an old school counter diner that you find inside a department store(aging myself here) like Woolworth, but there were also tables toward the front. What happened next ALMOST caused me to give this place 4 stars, but it being the holiday season I reconsidered. No one welcomed us or acknowledge us at all so we just went up to the counter and sat. There were 4/5 people behind the counter and after several walked by us, and we sat there for 3 minutes without as much a "hello" or a "be right there" we became a bit frustrated. Just as we discussed walking out, a lady from behind the cash registered came over and said "hey, have you guys been here before?" Whew! Finally acknowledge our presence! She explained that you go up to the cash register to order and pay, then you sit down! But once we found this place and got our order taken the rest is history! My friend asked for her recommendation on what to eat and she said the French toast was delicious. I ordered the French toast breakfast, which included French toast, 2 eggs, choice of hash browns, grits or home fries, and choice of bacon or sausage for 7.99. She was right, the French toast was to die for and it was a lot of food for the price. The food is served in mostly styrofoam(which does not bother me, especially in times of COVID), but if you're super environmentally friendly you may want to consider this fact. As We were sitting there, some warm, oven-fresh, M&M cookies were brought out, I just HAD to sample them! They were super cheap and so delicious! Don't leave there w/out trying those! BLUF: It is what it is, a copy from Rochester's. Don't get me wrong, I still ate the garbage plate with gusto! Pure nostalgia is the greatest sauce (second only to hunger). The home fries were barely fried. Frozen, and merely blanched. Soft and pale. Mac salad was fine. Meats were fine. I only got their Peak Plates on this visit so I can't comment on the rest of their menu. If I were a betting man, the quality will be about the same. It's no Nick Tahoe's or any Rochester establishment's plate, but it did lightly scratch that nostalgic-itch. read more

I have been here several times and have had a great experience, but not this recent time. A group of us ordered lunches for pick up. When we arrived, the person working didn't give a friendly response when we asked for a large bag and said they didn't have one. When we got back with our order, order was incorrect, silverware and dressing for the salad was missing. Finally tried Mustang Charlie's Diner and so glad we did! Just look for the neon in the back corner inside the Ford dealership and you will find a cute 50's styled diner. We arrived on Saturday right as breakfast was ending so we were able to order breakfast and lunch (had to be on separate checks). You order at the counter and someone brings out the items to your table. Sodas are not self-serve but there are refills that the staff will bring upon request. Person who brought out our food was very friendly. Food is nothing fancy but pretty good for the price. Transit breakfast - scrambled eggs cooked more than our preference but fresh (will ask for scramble light next time), shredded hash browns, patty sausage, and toast (a little heavier on the butter than preferred). Falcon chicken on bun with egg and American cheese was large and tasted good. Chicken Caesar wrap was done nicely with a side salad with a bunch of dressing options. CMe here for lunch on a Saturday. Restaurant was clean with comfy chairs. You order at the counter and the server brings your food to the table. Food came out hot and fresh and the wait time was reasonable. They have daily specials. For $8, I got 8 wings, tater tots and a soda. Mild wings had a nice kick to them. read more

We have been going to MC since it first opened. Typically the food and service was 5 star. The last few visits we have noticed the food portions are smaller and the prices have gone up which unfortunately is the case with most restaurants. The food is still pretty tasty but today in particular the dishes look like they were not made with love as usual but just thrown together. Really like this place. It is in the back of the large front display area so for me, it was not obvious to find but easy once you realize where it is. The food is terrific, and very reasonable. I had grits for the first time and now I realize why people like them so much! Combined with eggs, home fries toast, terrific. We also had pancakes that were tasty and not to dense but certainly feeling enough. I liked the look and the service was friendly yet professional. The only thing I didn't like was the use of plastic utensils and plastic plates inside the diner. I would hope they could use real plates and silverware. That is the only reason I gave four stars instead of five. read more

Stopped in for breakfast and was not disappointed. Woman behind counter was very friendly and welcoming. My wife had the breakfast plate with fried eggs and bacon. I had an omelette with bacon vheedd and tomato. Everything was good and the prices are quite reasonable. Will definitely go back when in the area. read more
