This review is for outstanding customer service at the Ala Moana Center location. The end metal piece on the draw string had come off on my fiancees Kate Spade handbag. She went in and asked about it being fixed or replaced. The salesperson checked and said your purchase is under a year and that it's covered my their warranty. A few moments later, she walked out with a new handbag (same model). I was so impressed. No 20 questions. No where's your receipt. Everything was online. The fun is in deciding. The girls at Kate Spade are terrific-- young, bright-eyed, and positive. Their mannerisms are the modern Audrey Hepburn, bringing Breakfast at Tiffany's into present day. The look of the store is a handbag candy shop, with delectable "sweet treats" like a cupcake tote, a sparkly pink clutch, or a champagne keychain toasting to the good life. The 'On Purpose' collection by Kate Spade and Jack Spade is a small batch of handcrafted handbags by artisans of Masoro. The group of 150 artisans is from Rwanda whose skills have become the foundation of a new small business that is reshaping the quality of life for 20,000 people in their community. I purchased the 'On Purpose' canvas tote in black, which was handmade by an artisan named, "Berthilde." She is also the one who put the finishing touch on the bag - a tag with her name handwritten on it. Isn't that cool?! I think it's special. I also think Kate Spade & Co is making a huge difference in the community by partnering with this special supplier, so I commend them for that and am happy to support the cause! I first spotted the adorable tote at katespade.com, but in the color pink. For the longest time, I had it sitting in my cart. But low and behold, the item had disappeared. Poof! The tote could never be found {insert sad face here}. Lesson learned, when you see something you like on katespade.com or at the store - BUY IT NOW! So, I was thrilled to see the same tote in the color black at the store. It'll go with everything! Even better, I was able to touch & feel and check out the matching wristlet. The Store Manager approached me and gave me the whole spiel on its background story. By the end of that convo, I was sold fo sho! My shopping experience was particularly awesome on this day. The Sales Rep and Cashier were extremely helpful and just plain ole cute and adorable - just like the iconic Kate Spade bow! The store is lucky to have them. I was asked to take a seat on the couch and she'd have my things all wrapped up in a jiffy. Before I left, I completed a customer VIP card so I could be notified of special events in the future. Sometimes it pays off to tell them you're from the area! The saleswomen are really friendly here. I was surprised at how helpful they were even though I was only looking at sale items. The sale today on 06/18/19 is an extra 40% off sale items. The ladies carry calculators and can let you know exactly how much everything will be with discount. Located in the 2nd floor of Ala Moana Mall I had a really good experience here. I came to Kate Spade back to back (two days in a row), because I was in the area and wanted to browse. The first day I went, the service was abysmal. No one really acknowledged me, as there were some Japanese tourists inside. I guess that day the tourists took priority over the local(s)? I quickly browsed around and left. There's a delicate balance between being at least acknowledged and being annoyingly followed around in a store, but that day they were on the "I don't exist" end of the spectrum. The next day, I came back to check out a cute clutch I couldn't stop thinking about, and the store display had completely changed as their new spring line had just released. The service was much better the second day for some reason. The sales person immediately informed me of their 25% off everything sale, which was odd, since the sale had been in place the day prior and no one had bothered mentioning it to me then. The 25% off sale wasn't boldly advertised (no signage of any kind to advertise the sale). I guess the only way to know was if the sales person decided to mention it to you. I was happy, since there was a bag and $40 gold dot candle that I had been eyeing out that there is no way I would have paid full price for. They have a cute, but limited selection of housewares and stationery type items (my favorite). I love that they keep free postcards at the register. They also accept online store returns in store (as long as you did not pay via Paypal online). If you're purchasing online and think you may want to return in store, don't pay with Paypal. I had to mail back something I bought online back to Kate Spade in the mainland, because I paid with Paypal and therefore could not return it in store. Corporate told me they received my return, but it would take up to two weeks to process the refund. What the heck? How does it take that long to process a refund? Most online shops process refunds as soon as they receive the products back. The Kate Spade store does not have all of the things you see on the website, which is fine since the website offers free shipping (UPS 2 day--yes, even to Hawaii) and free returns (or you can return in person at the store) with NO ORDER MINIMUM. I bought a $12 box of gold bow clips from the Kate Spade website, and they shipped it free via UPS 2 day to Hawaii. That's a great deal, as UPS 2 day is very expensive and I had such a small online purchase. I will definitely be coming back to the store whenever I'm at Ala Moana from now on, though I wish the service was a little more consistent (hence the 4 star rating instead of 5). One of my favorite things about coming to the store vs shopping online is the complimentary GIFT PACKAGING. My gosh, their gift packaging is so cute & colorful, and the gift boxes are super sturdy. We were Christmas shopping at Ala Moana the other day and I decided to stop into Kate Spade. I was in there the other day unsure of what I wanted. As soon as we enter the store we were greeted by two of the most friendliest Workers ever. They were so helpful as I was not sure what I was about to get in for her. The sale was amazing it was 50% off the entire store they even told me it was better than Black Friday. I ended up leaving with two bags and a bracelet for the amount of one bag. This Kate Spade store is clean, new and modern. It's located on the way to the new Ewa wing in Ala Moana. I always used to visit the Kate Spade store in its original location, before the Ewa Wing was built. But this store is larger, brighter and more contemporary looking. I usually experience good service here. The workers are always friendly and attentive, and I'm often greeted multiple times. I often check out the contents in the store in a periodic fashion. I peruse the new items (located at the front of the store) and admire the displays. I then circle around the back and look at the jewelry and accessories (especially the bracelets and cell phone cases), then I always make sure to note which items are for sale. Note: One of the associates at the former Kate Spade location told me that if you show your student ID, you get 15 percent off. At least, I think it's 15 percent or 10 percent. But, handy tip! I think this even applies to the Kate Spade outlet in Waikele. I've only been in the dressing room area once so far, but it's really cute and clean. I especially like how the dressing rooms are so spacious and the details and décor are subtle, but elegant and cute. Great job on the remodel! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.....KATE SPADE! Spring/Summer Collection is now available at the front of the shop. I love a well made bag and this ranks as one of them. There's a certain je ne sais quoi (my high school french teacher would be very, very proud that this is perhaps one of a few phrases I learned via osmosis in her class) in Kate Spade's designs. Her bags are fresh and colorful....youthful yet respectable. Places to go and People to see is touted as the 2014 campaign slogan for Kate Spade. This is certainly true. The bags are priced just right so as not to handicap you financially and you're gonna wanna be seen sporting your latest accessory - pridefully so. Kate Spade herself would be proud to know how well her employees are representing her at the Ala Moana location. During my visit, I was greeted and not stalked or judged (don't we all hate that feeling? I know I do!) while I perused the entire inventory. Thank goodness mother's day is coming up - I've got three months to drop some specific hints. Plus it helps that I have a Pinterest board with the ever so obvious title of "I WANT THIS..." Customer service was awesome here!! Also of note, if you go to the Kate Spade website (http://www.katespade.com/) you will find that unlike certain bag brands, a picture of the bag is shown with no indication of scale on a person. I can look at a bag and read the dimensions of it, but short of going to the showroom and "wearing" it, it's hard to gauge fit and scale. It looks like a bag of Skittles blew up in this store, but their bags and accessories are adorible and fun, and the overall service here is upbeat, friendly and attentive. Some of the bags and shoes are a little on the higher end the products are still in the affordable luxury category. I love that they actually put your purchases in a box wrapped in tissue and have a pretty no-hastle return policy. I have two purses that I have used heavily for several months each and they are still in excellent condition and I still get compliments on how cute they are. I visited the Kate Spade at Ala Moana yesterday, ready to try on my "dream watch" and had a HORRIBLE experience. So bad, I won't step foot in another Kate Spade store. And if you know me, that is HUGE. I carry a Kate Spade purse every day (time to change that out), my phone case is Kate Spade. Every Christmas, Kate Spade swag is my go-to gift for girlfriends and my Mom. never again! I was trying on the watch, looking in the mirror, checking out the size. It took FOREVER for someone to come up and help me. First fail. Finally a girl comes to help and watches as I grab for the watch myself. Can she not take it off the display / holder? I have really small wrists, so I asked if they could take out a couple links so that I could make sure it fit me. The girl looked at me with wide eyes and said she needed to ask her manager. Strange, I thought. But continued to peruse. And not that it matters, but I had come from work, decked out in J. Crew and holding Nordstrom and Tory Burch shopping bags. If you are a sales person in Kate Spade, I would think that you take note of that. Perhaps I have money to spend? Perhaps you notice that I asked for that very watch specifically, meaning I had done my research and was primed to purchase a $225+ watch that day? THEY REFUSED TO TAKE OUT THE LINKS. Say whaaaa?!? So you are telling me that I have to BUY the watch before you take out the links? Um, why would I buy a watch when I don't know whether or not it fits me? I was so irritated- you have no idea. I asked for the manager and proceeded to pull a "Pretty Woman" (as my friend Farrah cleverly coined it). BIG mistake. HUGE. Kate Spade, I am breaking up with you. You charmed me with your pretty gold and pink watch and lured me into your store. You then provided the absolute WORST customer service experience I have had at Ala Moana Shopping Center. It felt wonderful to tell the sales girl and manager (and about 6 patrons standing nearby) that they just lost a $225+ sale and loyal customer and that they need to take a lesson from similarly-priced boutiques like Tory Burch, who does customer service right. Suggestions for Kate: Size the watch if I am seriously thinking about buying it. Why not take out a couple links to make sure the customer likes it? Why on Earth would I buy a watch without seeing if it fits? DUH. Common sense, people. You know what I conclude? The watches must be cheap and easy to scratch / break if you are so hesitant to take links out. Also, offer me a seat. Let me put down my other shopping bags. Bring me other watches to check out. Size them, take out links as needed, and make sure I am happy. Bring me a bottled water, a la Tory Burch. Treat me like I am an important customer. Maybe if you had done that, I wouldn't be headed to Nordie's today to spend my previously-Kate-Spade-delegated money in a place with better service and on a watch that fits. read more

Clearly this is my favorite store in the world. Nothing makes me happier than walking into Kate Spade. No... wait a minute. I was thinking the Lego Store but accidentally typed Kate Spade. Anyways, being the target demographic of this store I walk in to buy my sister a wallet she so subtly hinted she wanted for her birthday. With nothing short of a picture, barcode, UPC label, police sketch of the wallet, and GPS coordinates, she armed with with an arsenal of tools to get her that much un-needed piece to her already "hoarder"-esque collection of stuff. One of the very nicely dressed workers cheerfully helped me with picking out the wallet destined for purchase. She showed me all the different colors and styles but I was here for 1 wallet, the silver one with black interior (pretty lackluster description on my part- all that build-up for a crappy descriptions- its like your friend telling you they're gonna buy you the most amazing dessert ever and they end up bringing a box of thin mints) She then ping-ponged me over to the worker at the register who gleefully wrapped it up, put it in a nice bag, and I was on my way. Wow... I am at a loss for words. I've been to Kate Spade a couple of times but I have never received the type of service that I received the other day. I love the clothing, accessories, and handbags by Kate Spade, but the customer service here is terrible. The sales associates profile people too much. I was there looking for a handbag and a watch and no one... No one helped me, said hi to me, or even looked my way... The associates were either talking behind the registers to other sales associates or greeting the tourists that entered. I know sales associates have to meet their numbers and that they make commission off of sales, but only relying on tourists is not the only way to do it. Even local people but and give you guys business. I swear I stood near the watches for 20 minutes looking up to see if I could get some help and was going to ask an employee, but she snubbed me and went straight for the tourists. I told myself I wasn't going to go back into Kate Spade, but I did another day to look at some jewelry. Again, I was not greeted or helped so I just walked out. I was in the market for a new wallet. I have some Kate Spade purses and like their stuff. I've typically bought from Neiman Marcus around the corner. The custom service was terrible. There were three staff people - three customers. Two staff people were busy chatting it up behind the register, the other one was helping the other two customers, who were Japanese tourists. I was in there 20 minutes and no one even bothered to say as much as a hello. I gave up on the store, there are too many other good stores in the mall to bother with ones with bad customer service! I went to Kate Spade about two months ago and received the best service by their assistant manager (?) Kimi. She's amazing!! It all started when they were having their friends and family 30% off everything sale. I was looking online for flatware, but because it ships from a third party (Lenox), they don't ship to Hawaii. I made a trip into the Kate Spade Ala Moana store to see if they could order it for me. They were crazy busy since this was the first day of their sale. I spoke with Kimi and she tried to order it online, but no luck. She told me she would do some research and give me a call later to see if there were any other options. She literally called me 45 minutes later!! I was so shocked because it was a zoo in there. Kimi took my credit card info over the phone. She had to call the Madison flag ship store in New York to let them know we are ordering these pieces online and shipping it to the Madison store. From there, the Madison store shipped it to the Ala Moana store! She warned me it may take a while, but it only took two weeks. This is the best customer service I have ever received! & I work in retail, so I would know what good customer service is! Thank you so much Kimi for everything you have done! We weren't dressed fancy, it was a hot day and we just wanted to cruise around the mall. When we entered we were fairly greeted, looked around a bit but nothing jumped at me. Finally, a worker asked me if I needed help.. I asked if they still carry a certain wallet she had no idea what I was talking about. She then asked her coworker and thank God she knew what I was talking about. BUT. She tells me, "you could check the outlet store, since that looks to be your more your style because we haven't had that for 2 years." Just because someone isn't dressed up fancy or wearing the best of the best name brands... doesn't mean to treat us differently. WE HAVE THE MONEY THAT I WAS WILLING TO SPEND. How rude. I don't generally comment on stores. But really, this store really disappointed me. I wanted to give this review some time ago, but it slipped my mind. A while ago, I went to this store to get a few things, around 1000 worth of goods. I don't particularly remember this service to be good. I bought two bags, three pairs of sandals and a hat. I liked everything I bought, aside from one pair of sandals that scratched my foot and gave me blisters. I was unable to get a refund even though I only wore it a handful of times and proof that I got blisters from the shoes. They refused to accept those sandals back and now I am stuck with all new sandals that I cannot wear because it looked worn. I believe that if the sandals damaged my feet, I have the right to take it back within a week. In my opinion it's terribly ridiculous to accept those sandals back. But then again, people have their own opinions. I would not go to a Kate Spade store anymore. Even though I am not a huge fan of their products, I would often buy a few things whenever I have time. This experience was a huge disappoint and I do not ever want to go there again. On a side note, Tory Burch was very forgiving with refunding shoes that hurt my feet. Even though they were worn out, they understood that I won't be needing shoes that are unsuitable for my feet. I personally like Tory Burch more because their style is a little more mature than that of Kate Spade. I hope other people have had better experiences than I have. read more

I lust after Kate Spade products--I love their quirky prep style. However, I'm a really picky shopper. It takes me a long time to commit to buying something and I've been eyeing this slim wallet at Kate Spade for months. I've even pinned it onto my Pinterest! Finally deciding I needed to reward myself and finally purchase the wallet, I went into Kate Spade. I didn't immediately see it and after asking a sales associate about it, she said they were sold out. I'm not gonna lie, I was a wee bit heartbroken. So I decide to peruse the shop hoping to fill that empty space that was my pretty pink wallet. Then the manager, Claudia, comes along. In a very boisterous voice, asks me if my fave color was blue. I laughed and said actually pink and specifically the pink of the wallet I wanted. She knew it was out of stock but proceeded to not only check online but also the Waikiki store. Success! It was in Waikiki! Then after I decided it was much easier for me to get it from Ala Moana, she worked it out so someone could bring it over and she would hold it for me. Lets just say she's ah-maze-ing! I've worked in retail and customer service my entire working career and she gave some hands down awesome service. First of all, I love Kate Spade. I've loved her since I was having a cheap mani-pedi when I first moved to LA and some guy came in and tried to sell me a knock-off. I didn't even know about Kate Spade when he came in, but I liked it. I didn't buy the knock-off, and eventually just bought the real thing on my own. Since then I have purchased more than I'd like to publicly admit. I keep buying Kate Spade purses because they last for-EVER! And they look good the entire time. The one time I had a strap break, off my first bag that I had already owned for several years, I called their customer service and they fixed it quickly without hassle. So now that you know my backstory . . . Usually I just buy my bags at Nordstrom. Even though I live in LA I like my shopping easy and laid back and tend to avoid the areas where stand alone boutiques tend to be. So today I was walking by and this Kate Spade store called me like the mothership it probably is. At first, I was just looking. I should know better, I can never just look with Kate. Eventually I knew I would not be walking out of here without doing just a little damage to my wallet. I have to hand it to all of the employees here, they have mastered the art of being friendly and helpful without being pushy or overbearing. I'm not even sure if they work on commission here, because every single person I encountered was so helpful and nice! I'm not typically one who enjoys shopping. Something about this place just made me feel happy! If Vegas can pump in oxygen to keep you awake, maybe Kate Spade has found a way to pump some "happy pills" into the air here. I love this place and their items but I think I would rather get my items online. Mainly because of their customer service. If you are not "touristy" looking they won't even help you unless there really isn't anyone in the store. This isn't everyone working but every time I go in there I don't really get greeted. Don't get me wrong, some girls are really nice. UNTIL I touch something and look interested someone approaches me. My friend who use to work there says they don't get commission for their sales so....? then why am I being treated like that? Love their items & check out their website! Kate Spade has always been a favorite for me. This store consists of beautifully bright colored purses, clothing and accessories! But to cut to the chase, I had a truly great experience at this store! I left feeling completely happy with my shopping experience. I came into this store to buy my wife a 400 dollar something bag she always wanted. I went in strait after work all sweaty and stink because I work in a restaurant. And one of the girls in the front was so rude. So I asked the other girl if she can help me pick out he bag for my wife. I told the other girl that I'm sorry if I stink because I just finish work. I'm currently obsessed with every thing Kate Spade. So of course I love this store not just for the products, but the workers here are very friendly even when I'm just browsing. The products are just fun to look at which come in basic colors and colorful options. This is one store I wish I could buy their shoes, wallets, purses, and jewelry. In general I love Kate Spade so I am not writing a review about the brand but about this particular store. I have never experienced this level of customer service and attentiveness at any other Kate Spade (or any other store for that matter) like the kind I got here. I was vacationing with some friends and I decided to take advantage of Hawaii's lower sales tax (2% as opposed to 9% that California has) to get a Kate Spade wallet. From looking at pictures online, I had already narrowed it down to two wallets and I really wanted to see them in person before I decided. This Kate Spade shop was the only one that stocked one of the wallets (since it was a new release). Thomas greeted me when I walked through and asked if I needed help finding anything. He pointed me to the wallets and then spent the next 20 minutes with me as I weighed the pro and cons of each wallet, throwing little temper tantrums at myself for being indecisive. Thomas was really patient with me, gave me his honest opinion on every aspect of the wallets and understood my frustration. I finally choose one and happily took it back to California with me. Two weeks later, I got a kate spade envelope in the mail. It was a handwritten postcard from Thomas! He thanked me for shopping there and hoped I was enjoying my new wallet, and that I had made the right choice. It was just such an amazingly sweet gesture and it put me in such a good mood for the rest of the day. I have no words to describe how much I appreciated his help and then the letter was just the perfect icing on the cake. Definitely recommend this branch for anyone in the Waikiki area looking to get a great wallet, purse, etc. and experience some amazing service from people who really care about their customers. The women who work here are an absolute delight! You don't have to worry about being ignored here, or get mean glances or stares. As soon as I walked in they helped me get a beautiful bag for my mom! (Sometimes I steal it and wear it for myself....that's the good thing about getting gifts for your mom). Anyways I LOVE their dresses, shoes, bags everything! OMG. I also got this beautiful necklace that I get so many compliments from. Would I go again!? YES! Should you!? YES! This review is in regards to Kate Spade 2016 Fukubukuro only. Honestly, I love Kate Spade and am slowly trying to build a semblance of a small collection between online sales and gifts. So this year, being home for fukubukuro at Ala Moana was a joy. My mom and I were numbers 179 and 180 in line when we got there 30 minutes prior to the door opening. The excitement for bags was palpable with excited women and some dutiful spot-holding guys. They were offering something like 420 bags in total and people could get 2x maximum (which was nice because some other stores like Sephora sold out in 5 minutes). The line was crazy and there were definitely more than 100 people behind us. Long story short - we got 4 mystery bags. One for me, one for my mom, and one for each of my two aunts. The purses turned out to be ALL THE SAME! What a shame. The point of fukubukuro is the chance to get something awesome that you might not otherwise be able to afford and for stores to run out their merchandise... not to give everyone the same stuff. My mom and I had seen a few other women open their bags outside the store and get the same print, but we thought it was just a couple of bags. Ugh. While I like that I got the bags for 50% of their worth, I do not like that everyone was getting the same stuff. Now there are 4 women in my family with literally the same handbag. Whomp. I will probably still buy Kate Spade, but won't support their fukubukuro until they fix their offerings. My dad says "give them credit for being organized." Which, tbh, they were incredibly organized, so props to them on that end. read more
