Shopping for the unknown... Whenever I need something either for myself, gift or just that something kinda sorta non-specific that I'm looking for but unsure what exactly I just come here to browse every nook and cranny until it hits me. The inspiration Marshalls has given me helps in the deals I find or able to keep it budget friendly makes it totally a great reason to smile. I always find something new which always gets my noggin gears going, though their clothing area is quite smaller in comparison to other equivalent shop it's much more specific and do carry certain pricier brands and have been lucky to find a few items, it's the home items they carry here are the winner. I'm just so delighted to have Marshalls here in Ala Moana Center right on the Street Level near the post office as it's just so hard to pass them by without looking right into the huge windows filled with items I'm always just too curious to pass up...retail therapy is very real for me. I don't ever seem to find anything that I like at this store. They have everything from clothes, shoes, cosmetics, home decor and baby items. You can find some really good deals, but you have to rummage through all the stuff. They offer some designer items that's heavily discounted, but out of season.They usually only get one or two in each size, so good luck. I like to come in and see what they have as inventory is always changing. Maybe one day I'll find something that I like and make my first purchase. read more

I'm shocked that I feel like writing a review about this place. But here we are. The service at Marshalls today was exemplary. Seriously like some of the nicest people work there. The woman in the fitting room and I had such a good laugh at an outfit. She didn't just ask. Is everything OK? She was just nice and had a conversation with me. The man who checked us out was super sweet. My friend needed to use the bathroom and over the radio he goes. There's a nice lady in a white shirt that's coming back to grab something. Can you please help her? They had a lot of amazing finds there from famous labels. It's so much nicer and better than the rickety Ross. read more

I love this location as it is convenient and has an abundance of everything. Work clothes and skincare products are my favorites here. I sometimes would find good Korean creams here for a really good deal. Parkin is always super easy here. Often my friend and I would park, shop and hang out at the beach park across the street. I love the TJ Maxx brands that include the Marshalls store! I'm glad Marshalls came back to Honolulu. They used to have a store in Ward a long time ago where Sports Authority was located! Marshalls & Tj Maxx originated in Cambridge, MA. They were the first ones to sell designer clothes at affordable prices! Check out the designer labels in shoes, handbags and clothes! Also, the houseware department has such a good selection of merchandise! Always has holiday seasonal items that are cute & fun! Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii... I happened to be at Ala Moana Center and decided to try out my new credit card for T.J. Maxx/Marshall's. Customers with this Credit card get all kinds of benefits - which I'm still learning about... Haha! The Clearance sections were scattered throughout the store - depending on the type of merchandise. The Christmas items were in the front. The clothing, pet supplies, personal care items, household goods, etc. each had great items! When I was cashing out, the cashier said that today was markdown day. The items with discounted red stickers get an additional markdown - signified by a yellow sticker. For example, the Rudolph plushie was supposed to be $9.99. The red sticker was $5. The yellow sticker was $3. Yay! I will check back every couple of months or so for more bargains! Able to definitely shop for no namer and brand names at affordable prices. To our surprise, my husband found a Hydrapeak Thermos that keeps food items cold for up to 16 hours and hot to 10 hours. Great to use on the go for breakfast or light snack. I wasn't expecting to find something either. Lo and behold, I found and tried on a navy blue bandeau jumpsuit with a belt, two pockets, lots of leg room, and doesn't need hemming. Last one I found in a size M. Perfect to wear on its own or with blazers, cardigans, flannels, and longer raincoats. The sky is the limit! Both items costs under $20. The only hiccup was sensor wasn't removed by cashier for one of the items. Beep beep beep beep beep beep. Another worker near to the door removed the sensor. Yes gang, it's another great discount clothing store where you can find super deals! Normally my goto for dealages is Ross Dress for Less (probably because they have more stores in da 808), but whenever I can check out a Marshalls, garans you gonna find some dealages!!! A few weeks back, my coworker asked me to do a job for him at a bank inside of the Ala Moana Shopping Center. While I was waiting for him to send me the electronic work order, I decided to hang around the Ala Moana Shopping Center until I got the work order. While waiting around, I decided to walk into Marshalls to look around.........I really didn't need anything in particular, but decided to walk into this store to kill some time. Upon walking around the store, I come upon this unreal dealages............check out my find! (see pic). Like a lot of discount stores, it's basically a hit or miss........you just have to be at the right place, at the right time to get a great deal. I love shopping at Marshall's... more the Kapolei store than the Ala Moana store... but the Marshall's in general carry a nice assortment of merchandise. I generally enter snd walk through the handbag department. I found one of my favorite Italian leather bags there... then in through cosmetics where they often carry quality lines of hair care products. The houseware is my favorite whether it's dishes made in Portugal or nice cookware. I've gotten many of my favorites kitchen tools there too. Next is the planters which have been in short supply since everyone is into gardening. Gotta check out the kids clothing, just in case. Helped me take the chair to the cashier and to my car. He waited for me to get my car and figured out how to make it fit. He didn't make me feel like it was an extra service. Walking around Marshalls feels like walking around a big candy store. Browsing around, one can find an array of clothing, shoes, home/bath personal items, snacks, pet stuff, and other miscellaneous items. One of the main attractions centers around junior and womenswear. Marshalls offers name brand clothing such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Ann Klein, Juicy, Tommy Bahamas, Nike, Under Armour, and the list goes on. Having a store like Marshalls at the Ala Moana mall makes life much easier. The store gives other chains a run for their money. Marshalls sells products at a fraction of what Macy's sells. Many people flock here because customers can find what they need in one stop. When I went to Marshalls the staff started to decorate the store for the Christmas season. They stop and warmly welcome me. Something I do not find nowadays in chains stores. Come to Marshalls and shop. Or browse to purchase a birthday gift, wedding item, or shop for the family. Someone kakaroached my slippers so I was in search for a replacement. Wasn't sure what the options were going to be like so I was pleasantly surprised at my find. Happened to be at the post office nearby and had free time so it worked out perfectly. I already forgot what store used to be in this Ala Moana location. This store brings a nice variety of options for all kinds of items. I especially had fun browsing the home decor section. Mostly because I don't have a yard to grow things and all the fake plants were an entertaining thought. What caught my eye, all the motivational framed items for your shelf! My favorite was the framed, "Braver, Stronger, Smarter" decor! As I continued to browse, they had a big section for pet items. Not that JoJo needs it but it was fun to see all the fragrant wipes, meant for pets :) As you make your way to the friendly cashiers, they really know how to getchya to buy more LOL Tons and tons of things to buy. Marshall's, you guys need to train some of your employees better. As I was at the register, I asked the cashier how to bypass the debit option to use my card as a credit. She didn't know, nor did she speak English well. The major complaint though, was her attitude. She started getting mad at me. Thing is, I also work a retail job which is why I didn't want to make a scene. I understand she was frustrated because of the language barrier, but her attitude wasn't needed. Welcome back Marshalls!! Before TJ Maxx, before Ross, Hawaii just had Marshalls. I remember my mom took me there frequently when I was a kid in the early 90s. I realized saving and getting discounts is a family gene that I've acquired lol. When Marshalls left and Ross store popped up, I thought the name just changed since everything looked similar and the signage was the same blue lettering. I was just a pre-teen kid! I never knew TJ Maxx purchased Marshalls. But knowing that, it wasn't as exciting reading the news Marshalls is returning since it'll probably be the same as TJ Maxx, and I was right. Marshalls is located in Ala Moana Shopping Center, where the original Foodland used to be, near the Post Office and Territorial Savings Banks. Being that it's a new store, everything was clean and organized. But what I noticed that was different from the other similar stores is the amount of staff who are constantly organizing and restocking the shelves. Another thing I noticed was how organized of the shoe section. It's separated by shoe styles (like many brand and department stores) rather than by size, which is usually a complete mess. The aisles aren't very spacious, but enough space to go around someone browsing. The selections here are very good. Even better than TJ Maxx! There are many items and brands that you see at retail stores and department stores, and you don't see it at TJ Maxx or Ross. My wife noticed many in the beauty and bath sections, and one in particular was a Japanese brand item that sells in Don Quijote for over double the price at Marshalls. These discount stores are times where you really need to slow down and ask yourself, "do you need this? Will you use it soon? Is it good to use?" And so on! Overall, I'm happy that Marshalls has returned to Hawaii after a 23-year absence. I feel the quality of the items offered here are much better than both TJ Maxx and Ross. I hope the staff always stay friendly and hardworking to keep the store clean and organized, and always have cashiers readily available. read more

I've only been to one of these stores once and this was in Oregon. It's linear to an upper-scale Ross' if there's such a thing. 1st of all, prices are a little higher than Ross' but the store is big, bright, clean, organized and well stocked. All things that are important to me. They seem to have quality items. I picked up 2 skorts $14.99 in the exercise section as I needed something that would whisk away perspiration during my trip to Thailand. I also was able to pick up a cute passport holder $6.99 that protects encrypted information on passport and credit cards for up to 4 passports. Didn't even realize they have pocket devices that can read/steal ur private info. The line went by quickly. Dressing rooms are clean and don't smell funky. Aisles were not congested. I will definitely come here again. They are on the Moutain facing side of the mall, lower level by post office. read more

Marshall's reminds me of TJ Maxx.. actually they have some of the same stuff to be honest. Their shoe section looks a lot cleaner and well organized but it looks like most of their shoes are athletic shoes which isn't my thing. They have some name brand items but they're locked up. Push the button next to it and someone will help you. Their pet section is quite small like tj Maxx and their kitchen and food section is not bad. I actually seen an indoor grill there that I purchased from Macy's for a lot less than what I got it for. The location is the old foodland on the first floor. They actually have a few 30 min stalls out front designated for Marshall's only. If you're a shop kick user. Try going on weekends - they usually have 200 shop kick points! Like the other one star reviews here stated , they need to provide better manners and better customer service. No customer service ever provided here! It's terrible. Patty, Genevieve, I've had bad experiences with those two! Patty was walking and she walked next to me and bumped into me without saying sorry. She even got upset for me asking to wrap my ceramic cup I bought. For Genevieve, the person who was next in line didn't hear her calling that her cashier was open. So Genevieve literally yelled "OK YOU DONT WANT TO BE HELPED IM GOING GO STOCK INSTEAD" and walked away from the register even thought there was a long line. All cashiers provide no customer service esp the dude at #1 in the morning lol. Sucks I didn't get his name. They are all just horrible grumpy people who must not enjoy their job! The stock people watch you like a hawk while shopping around, it's kind of creepy! The least they can do is say hi or can I help you find something.. but nope. read more

I love Marshall's! If you didn't know it's the sister store to tj maxx, so if you get a gift card you can use at either store. This location is big enough to have all your needs from home goods, clothing, shoes, and some furniture. I love browsing through the home department and there's always a clearance section in the far right back by the restroom. You should always come back weekly to see if there's any new items. Also if you love it, buy it. It will probably be gone when you come back next time. They always have a really nice return policy. Just bring your receipt and the item in unused condition! read more

I hadn't stepped foot in Marshalls for the year that they've been in Ala Moana, but after checking it out this past month, I think I've been here like four times HAHA I love the selection - much classier than Ross but still with reasonable prices. Since the holidays are near, there's a whole section of Christmas-themed items and gifts which I love, since that's the only reason I shop here. On my last visit, I came on a whim (per usual) and ended up finding a few items i wanted. I only had my tiny little purse with me, so I asked the worker in the front if I could keep my items on hold while I ran to my car to grab a tote bag. She was happy to help and keep my items while I made the short journey back to my car. (She later told me she found out they actually weren't allowed to do holds during the holiday seasons LOL so just a heads up, don't forget your tote bags) I've seen the lines get pretty crazy during the last few days since it's gifting season so I suggested coming in the morning to avoid the after-work & school people looking for good deals! read more

Marshalls in Ala Moana is definitely my go-to store for home decors and beauty section! Whenever I have something I have in mind to buy, I always seem to find EXACTLY what I need when I get there. If you want to redecorate your home and give it a little theme or to match your aesthetics, Marshalls is the place to go. I always try to check out Ross or TJ Maxx first but never had any luck. Then came Marshalls.... I'm always so happy once I walk out the door with my purchased goods! It's such a good feeling when you're able to find what you're looking for at an amazing price. I'm never disappointed when I come to Marshalls to shop. I first bought a medium sized white rug for my room for only $24.99. I thought my room was a little TOO white and wanted to add a splash of color instead, so I decided to come back and buy a blush pink rug (which they had re-stocked when I visited again) for the same price of $24.99. I'm not sure how to explain it, I just felt so lucky being able to find the exact type of rug on my first try, and I'm pretty picky with this kind of thing. I almost bought a rug on Amazon for a couple bucks more when I couldn't find a pink rug at Ross or TJ Maxx. So I'm happy Marshalls exist because their inventory is pretty awesome and it's super convenient when I can just go to the store and find what I need. Even the beauty products that I use daily can be found here a bit cheaper than the exact ones you'd find at Target or Walmart. All my cashiers have always been kind, patient, and helpful so I give them 5 stars :) keep in mind that during this pandemic, their fitting rooms are still closed so you're not able to try on. read more

I guess I've been living under a rock because I didn't even know we had a Marshall's until a couple of months ago. I finally had a day off and had to wait for my other half to get done with his dental appointment, so I decided to check them out. Got there right when they opened. It's a little overwhelming with so many things ... it's a good thing. I was greeted at the door by a lovely woman and off I went to browse the store. But ... 5 minutes into it and I'm in the beauty section. I notice that I was being followed by an older Japanese store employee. Now .... I'm shopping by myself and have my earbuds in listening to music so that I'm not interrupted by anyone. I'm in my own zone so to speak. I take one of my ear buds out and ask her what she said .. she asked if I was okay and finding everything. I told her it was my first time here so I'm just walking around. She just stood there staring at me so I started to put my ear bud back in so I could walk away from her. She stopped me again and asked if I was listening to music, I said yes and she said "Oh, I know what you mean" I just put the buds back in and walked away. It was a weird encounter for me so early in the morning. I found the pet section that I saw everyone rave about on Yelp. Loved it! I started grabbing stuff for my two pups for stocking stuffers. Another employee came up to me and handed me a basket, which I appreciated. Thank you to him, he at least didn't follow me around the store ... and yes, she did follow me there too I went through every isle there and intentionally left the shoes for last (even though it's right by the door) lol Found some awesome Juicy Couture shoes and put them in my basket. The very same Japanese employee that was following me around in the beauty section came up behind me, grabbed the basket, slammed it on the ground and pulled up the handle so it could be wheeled ... thanks ... I guess? I mean if that's what I had wanted I would've done it the first time when the guy who gave it to me showed me it. She asked me if I'm visiting Hawaii and I asked her why. She asked me multiple times until I told her no that I live here. She then started to walk right next to me as I was trying to get away from her ... What the actual fuck I ended up going to stand in line to pay for my things. I didn't really get to enjoy my time there as I would've liked. Never understood why this employee was following me or what her issue was with me. But I walked out with a few things for my pups and new shoes. Located on the ground level of Ala Moana near the post office, Marshall's give the customers another choice of shopping besides Ross's and the big box stores. Marshall's is a sister store to TJ Maxx so there is some similarities in merchandise. This store location is not nearly as big as the one in Kapolei but you will still find some nice things as good deals! Friendly and helpful store associates who will assist you while you shop whether it's looking for an item or grabbing you a cart! I only wish we had a Marshall's on the Windward side. read more

I'm so happy we finally have a Marshalls in town! I know that it's basically TJ Maxx, but as a deal lover I always love having more options. This store is only a few weeks old but since it's located at Ala Moana Center, it looks like its been ransacked. My hubby and I came here to find some new workout sneakers for me since I will almost never buy anything at full price. I don't need the coolest and newest things, I'd rather have more money in my bank account. Plus my husband has amazing taste in shoes and somehow always manages to find me the best gear. There was nothing in the womens shoe section, but my hubby found me a pair of Adidas mens shoes in a smaller size that fit perfectly and were 50% off the original retail price. Cha-ching! Yes, Marshalls is basically a messier TJ Maxx, but the workout shoe selection is much better. We explored the rest of the store which was stuffed to the brim with clothing, home goods and so much stuff no one needs but everyone will eventually buy because it's on sale. I went here to buy a curling iron found one i was happy with. When I got home and opened it, it was the wrong one and not at all what I had bought. I brought it back the next day and explained the situation to the employee who was very understanding. She called her manager over and the manager informed me that it was not the correct curling iron... yeah... that's why I brought it back. She then told me that the curling iron in the package was not their brand so it couldn't have been from there. Their brand? It's a Marshall's. The whole point is that they have multiple different brands. So I asked if I could exchange for a different one, they said no. I asked to return it for money back, they said no. I asked for store credit... surprise they said no. I am very upset with this situation and the incompetence of the management. Needless to say, I am now very unhappy, -30$, and + a curling iron I don't want. Would not recommended this store to anyone. read more

I love promos, discounts and savings that is why I'm a huge fan of budget department stores. It's my second time in Marshalls Ala Moana and it feels like TJ Maxx to me. Their items, products are almost the same, even the fitting room and the checkout counters. They have a nice selection of discounted clothing for all ages, home needs, home decors, snacks, and even section for pets. Also, like TJ Maxx, I like that they offer wide varieties for activewear than its competitors. (By the way, Activewear is always the first section i always go to when I'm at Ross, TJ Maxx or Nordstrom Rack) I also like the lighting of the store and the signages. Makes it easier for me navigate the store. I would also want to commend the lady on the fitting room. She was so sweet, warm, accommodating and helpful. I forgot her name though. (I wish most of the Sales Staff on every store is like her.) I also like their checkout counter, it just took me 1-2 minutes wait time even though there's a line. They have enough cashiers to cater the customers. So nice! The least that I don't like from them is most of the shelves were very cluttered. Sometimes when you want to shop but see things that are very messy, it just changes my mood. I hope they would have many staff to arrange the shelves. Love places like this, TjMAXX, Ross, etc. Helps kill time and has very affordable household items, makeup, gym supplies. The only issue I have is when I check out and the employees push so hard for their credit card. I get it, its part of your job but if I say no twice already, why keep pushing it? Also I had a male cashier ring me up and was nice to me while pitching the whole credit card deal but then when I said no thank you, his attitude changed like he didn't want to continue helping me. It's ok, pretty much identical to TJ Maxx cause its the same owner with a little more stuff like a wider range of shoes. I usually don't find anything to great for myself to be honest. I feel like they have a greater selection of women's items to offer. They did have a some cool sporting good items like SUPs and Kayaks, but they seems sorta random. Pet stuff too. The store is getting really good foot traffic though. I think it'll be good for the businesses on the lower level. read more

The only Marshall's in the urban Honolulu area. The store is typically very organized given the heavy foot traffic in Ala Moana and the busiest mall. They have a good selection of shoes, home accessories and lot of items other off-price retail stores do not have. I haven't been to a Marshalls since August of 2018 in San Diego. I was delighted to find one at Ala MOANA the other night as I was heading over to FOODLAND Farms. I went in looking for a nice wallet (time to upgrade) and actually found one right away that fit my needs! And the price was right in my budget! As I waited for my beloved to finish shopping, i wandered around the store seeing what they had. Definitely a step up from Ross however, their wasn't much of an inventory of clothing for women. They are totally stocked up with all kinds of other stuff especially in the bath, personal grooming department! I found my fave Jason's toothpaste there too and at a super reasonable price! May i also say I was delighted that they even had a restroom. And a pretty decent clean one too! When i make the trek back to Ala MOANA (which is rare) I'll be sure to pop in again as I'm hoping they will add more women's clothing to their inventory. read more

I have been to Marshall's Ala Moana several times. This store has the WORST customer service. The sales clerks are sarcastic and clueless. I've heard the 2 Korean clerks at the register arrguing in front me. I ask a clerk if I could borrow her ladder. She told me this is not a ladder it's a step stool. Last time a guy over charged me told him. He said No I didn't. Sure enough he double charged me. Marshall's needs to invest in customer service classes.
