We are leaving a poor review because we felt that as consumers, the owner of the company was more interested in profit than doing what was right. I am willing to post the entire email conversation to let people make up their own mind but long story short. We originally hired this photographer to do 2 hours of pre-wedding pictures of the bride and bridal party getting ready and then two hours at the reception. We never hired her to take pictures at the actual wedding ceremony. Now with Covid we had to cancel the ceremony completely (we moved it out a year to do a bigger one year anniversary party). We reached back out to the owner and explained the situation and her reply was I do not split dates and her suggestions were to buy more packages. I understand professionals have costs and time is money but I also understand doing the right thing for the client. This has been a challenging year for everyone. We all know people that have lost their jobs or even lost loved ones. This is a time to do what is right and find ways to make everyone better off. I feel we tried to find that course of action and yet was meet with replies from a small business that I would expect from the DMV or IRS. She gets to keep our deposit and we are left trying to find someone last moment to take pictures of the bridal party getting ready. I know these are first world problems and I should feel lucky we only lost out on our deposit. The one star review is due to the owners absolute unwillingness to find a solution that didn't end up costing us more. I am sure this doesn't reflect on the actual quality of her work as a photographer but as someone that has run small businesses for years, doing what is right and creating a win/win situation has always been my priority. We found her pictures online and liked the way she was able to capture movement and organic moments in her shots, and especially in our venue, which we knew would be low-light and dark during most of the reception. The engagement session was a great way to get more comfortable in front of the camera and we absolutely loved how the photos turned out.
