There was a long 15 -20 min wait because it was quiet late and they wanted to make them fresh but as soon as they came out - my heart filled with so much joy and excitement because they looked and tasted absolutely authentic and were priced right- $15 each. The wrappers were thin yet sturdy, had a well seasoned moist filling that tasted fresh and home made. The chutney it was served with, felt like it was bought from Nepal - it was spicy, smokey and tangy and really complimented the momos. Didn't expect to find good Asian food in Omaha, particularly Nepalese! The lunch menu is quite limited - your food options are aloo chops, which are deep fried crispy potato patties and fried/steamed momos (Nepalese dumplings) in pork, chicken, or vegan. We ordered the aloo chops and steamd pork + chicken momos. Everything was delicious! I'd recommend getting all four sauces too - they really add to the momos. Pricing was very fair as well. Omg the soup with dumplings. I am a semi frequent visitor to this food hall and have tried many of the places but keep coming back for the soup. It is spicier than I would normally go for but definitely would recommend for a hangover. Only complaint, as a light eater I would like the option for a half order as it feels wasteful when I leave a bunch. Will be back! read more

I certainly did not seek out Nepalese on a recent visit to Omaha (incidentally, I did seek out steak and sadly, that did not happen). However, with limited late night options, I decided to give Kathmandu a try and it certainly exceeded expectations. The aloo chops are basically rounded patties of potato mixed with various spices and fried. You can order a dipping sauce with it, and I went with an ambitious habanero mango one. This tasted like a mango juice with a subtle spicy kick from the habanero and somehow, it worked. It goes well with the aloo chops which are also fine on their own. Even more impressive were the momo themselves. I ordered pork ones, and they were perhaps the most jumbo momo I've ever seen. In fact, I was surprised the wrapper was able to hold all of that pork inside without breaking. My tiniest complaint is the flavor was a bit one note (pork) but overall, I enjoyed it. This is a great late night food in the Omaha area. I'd strongly recommend it. read more

My husband and I were next-door at Scriptown Brewery and was wanting something to snack on. The bartender had mentioned how good the steamed Momos were here so I had to try them. It's really convenient being able to walk through a side door right into their little counter area to order. I went with the steamed chicken Momo with mango habanero sauce. I ordered fried calamari for my husband with a spicy sauce. Both tasted delicious, but just to give a heads up that hot sauce is hot! So this place came as one of my recommended places when I landed in Omaha. Based on pictures - we wanted to try it out. The soup with noodles is just a winter special so bummer we weren't able to get that. We ended up getting a large order (10) of steamed pork momos and an order of fried chicken momos based on the recommendation from the lady who took our order. She was lovely. We told her we'd never been so she let us know that we can order and have a seat on the bar side and she'd bring our food over. She gave us her recommendations and described momos to us which is a Nepalis version of the dumpling but the seasoning used is more of the curry seasoning. We also got choices of dipping sauces so we can a traditional one which had a peanut base and the jalapeño mango based on her recommendation. She also let us know it would take 20 min to prepare which we were okay with since that means it's fresh! Lol When she brought them over, we were so excited. We tried the steamed pork one and it was juicy and seasoned amazingly! The fried chicken ones were super crisp and also amazing in the jalapeño mango dip. It wasn't overly spicy and everything had an amazing kick of flavor to it. We walked away just amazed how delicious they were and it was also so pleasant to have the service match that. Really cool spot connected with scriptown brewing company so you can eat and drink. I had the steamed pork dumplings and aloo chops, very filling and tasty. I got the sweet chili sauce for the dumplings and they gave me mango habanero for the chops. Lots of options for sauce choices! They let me know how long it would take and gave me a buzzer for when my food was ready, so that's great service for me. The only thing that wasn't great was that someone food buzzer thing was beeping loud nonstop for like a minute or two and no one was doing anything to stop it. This place is famed for their dumplings called momos and they were delicious. I typically don't like dumplings, the outer shell has a waxy texture I don't care for but it's a sign of a superb restaurant when you can serve me something I don't like and I love it. We showed up when they opened for a Tuesday lunch so it was just us for a bit. The owner was able to talk with us about the food and their history which was fun. The menu is also simple, you have the choice of chicken, pork, and vegan momo's. I've never had momo's before visiting, but they are Nepalese style dumplings that are oh so good! You get to choose a sauce as well: mild, spicy, and extra spicy. I chose the chicken momo's with spicy sauce (Sherpa). The dumplings are chewy on the outside and full of flavor on the inside. The Sherpa sauce has the perfect kick and is surprisingly flavorful as well! NOTE: it takes 15-20 minutes because the momo's are MADE TO ORDER right then and there! I found Kathmandu Momo Station and as I read reviews about it and that it had Ramen on Saturdays, we were sold! Since we don't know the area (visiting from out of town), we just grabbed a paid spot on the street. We were a bit confused by the conflicting hours on the door but could tell they were opened. When we entered, we noticed a small window bar with three stools were the only seating. There was a small cooler with drinks and the ordering counter (kitchen behind). I think they could tell we were new and happily offered to explain what was available. They had Burmese Ramen and their Momos. They explained the broths for the ramen and what was in the bowls. We decided to order two ramens (one grilled chicken and one grilled shrimp), and an order of pork Momos. We asked if we could sit next door and they said yes. We were given a number and headed next door. The food took a little bit to come out but it was well worth the wait! The Ramens came out first and the Momos followed shortly after. Our kids devoured the Momos so quickly that we had to go order another batch! They were sooo good! The pork was moist and had great flavor! The outside was just the right texture. We had the spicy sauce and it had a wonderful flavor as well. Both Ramens were also tasty! I loved the grilled shrimp and how it was seasoned. There were lots of nuts in the ramen which I really enjoyed. I told my husband when we left that I'm going to crave the food from there. If only we didn't need to travel so far to get it! read more

Really great little station that's attached to Scriptown (beer+Momo's= yes.). Warm Momo's that are chewy on the outside and tender meat (or tofu), on the inside. Really can't go wrong. They also offer a Nepalese ramen for lunch. The menu is super simple with either pork, chicken or vegetarian Momo, and 3 choices of sauce varying in spice level. Both the chicken and pork were delicious and each sauce I tried had a nice spice and flavor to it. I don't know if I'd recommend this for dinner, but definitely recommend for a quick lunch bite or a snack with a delicious Scriptown beer. The fried chicken momo were all of our favorites. I really liked the johl sauce with it, as did Eric R. My grandma is allergic to peanuts so we kept it away from her. So the best part of this place is the delivery agreement that they have with the brewery next door. We were able to get momos delivered directly to our table! The spicy dipping sauce is crazy spicy, but I really enjoyed the mild. Mango was also spicier than I anticipated. I can only speak to the vegan momos but they were delicious--warm and flavorful. Kathmandu Momo Station is such a great addition to the Omaha food scene! I've been to the Blackstone location a number of times and have tried all 3 favorite flavors of momo. Pork is for sure my favorite, but all 3 were great. I got around to trying the ramen (fish broth with pork) at the Inner Rail location on a cold, rainy day and loved it! I haven't had Burmese ramen before, so I don't have much to compare this to. The broth was deceptively clear for how rich and flavorful it was. Not too salty or overwhelming. My only complaint is that it felt like I had no more than four bites of noodles, so I was still left hungry after finishing this and splitting a 7 piece order of chicken momo. Not a deal breaker, but good to know for the future. Aside from the great flavors here, it's so clear that all the staff here really take pride in the food and care about their customers' experience (even at the Blackstone location when most of their customers are inebriated).
