I was impressed by all the positive reviews, so I was really excited to try Dumpling Empire! It did not disappoint! They have a large menu and we decided to try a few different items. The service was great and prompt with getting orders and bringing items out. I have never had buns and the menu was comprehensive with a description of each item. We got the Takoyaki appetizer and holy moly it was hot. I recommend poking them with a chopstick to let out some of the steam before you bite into it. We got the tri colored soup buns and the chili oil wanton soup for main dishes. They were both really flavorful. I added some of the sauce provided on the table for the buns and it was even better! I also got to try a little of the pork belly bun and it was delicious with a soft bao bun. The overall vibe of the restaurant was very casual but warm. There were several items I was scouting on the menu and checking out on others' tables, so we will be back to try more!

Service was great, food came out fresh and quickly. Loved everything we ordered. I got the pork soup noodles (not spicy), my brother got the Szechuan soy noodles, my parents both got dumplings, and we also got soup dumplings and the eggplant salad. Obsessed with whatever sauce was in the eggplant salad, I added it to my noodles and soup dumplings too. Everything was delicious. I would come back again. (coming from an Asian who is picky about Asian food). This was authentic and I like that they have hand pulled noodles and make their dumplings from scratch! I want to try their chili oil wide noodles and beef noodle soup next time. Ambiance is laid back and comfortable! My family is in town just visiting Omaha, and we will be coming back to this restaurant for sure.

My new absolute favorite!!!! So many vegetables in the noodles and the spring rolls were packed with flavor. The crab ragoons were very creamy and nicely filled. But the service is by far the stand out for this place. My son wanted the king pao chicken but doesn't do any type of spice.and the server said no problem. And it was absolutely amazing! Even as leftovers cuz you're going to need a box! The spring rolls and crab ragoons warm up perfectly in the air fryer!

I was running errands in the area and had heard about this place so I decided to check it out! I had been to the eye doc earlier in the day but the lack of near vision could not keep me from seeing the mouth watering menu and finding some interesting items! I started with the cucumber salad. The size and make up of this plate caught me completely off guard! I don't know what I was expecting but somehow I didn't expect sliced up cucumbers in chili sauce . Frankly, that was probably my favorite item of the day. It was so refreshing and not spicy in the least bit (to me anyway). Next was the chili oil pork noodles. Coming out of the kitchen, it lacked any sort of spice so I needed a lot more chili oil. It was good before and after my alteration. It was perfect for a cool day. The broth was perfect and light. The chili oil clung to the noodles perfectly. Service was quick and attentive. I was sat as soon as I walked in and my order was taken shortly after I indicated I was ready. I'll need to come with more than just me to fully take advantage of the menu offerings here next time!

Awesome spot on 72nd! Been here a few times and this is a great place for grabbing a warm meal. My favorite is the steamed pork dumplings, as well as the wonton soup. This last time I tried the crab leg soup which was a special, and it was also fantastic. One of my favorite appetizers is the cucumber salad...it is mixed in a spicy sauce that is incredible to use for dipping the dumplings or wonton in as well...I order this with every meal and it never disappoints.

It was my first time visiting this place and we were all excited to try a Chinese dim sum place. Overall, it was good. We ordered the steamed and pan fried pork dumplings, chili oil flat noodles, pork buns, kung pao chicken, and eggplant salad. We all really liked the flat noodles and kung pao chicken. The pork buns had a slightly different taste than what I was used to. The bun part was soft, but had a slightly fermented taste. Service was quick and the place was nice to take your family. Noise level was low and the place got filled pretty quickly during lunch hours.

First thing that I noticed is, the music is loud. We were greeted and seated immediately. I ordered the hot black tea and was kinda surprised that it was simply Lipton. The black tea was hot, but it didn't have much flavor at all. The wife's Hot green tea was much better. The Chicken Fried rice was delicious and there was plenty of it too. The Braised beef was served cold, I had never had it that way. The oil it was in was super good. I'm not sure that I am a fan of the cold beef dish. The dumplings were awesome and I highly recommend them. The service was lackluster and almost uncomfortable. There wasn't much of a drink selection. I will wait a bit to return.

The restaurant was about half full when we showed up around 8pm on a Sunday, and we were seated right away. The workers were friendly and helpful when we ordered. This was my first time and I wanted to try a little variety. I had chili oil wonton soup, Tri Color Soup Buns, Takoyaki, and a Braised Pork Belly Bun. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. The standout was the wonton soup, it was very flavorful with pork wontons and bok choy. Vibe was cozy and warm with attentive service. We will be back to try more from Dumpling Empire!

This place is small and you barely know it's there from the outside. But people are usually waiting around. We went in with another couple and the smell got to us. We were seated and ordered dumplings of course, Rangoon's, cucumber salad, and a few other things. I will get the cucumber salad every time I go because it was so flavorful and tasty. Nothing was disappointing. Everything was delicious and so fresh. They bring things out as they're done cooking, which is nice because everyone gets hot food. We dug right in so some of the food in the pictures is half eaten, but that shows how great it was. Now I know why this place is so popular and will have to come back to try other Things on the menu.

Very happy to say today was back to 5 stars! Service was absolutely amazing and food was outstanding! We had the cucumber salad which is a serious flavor bomb! So good! Had vegetable fried rice , Kung pao tofu, and scallion pancake. Everything was delicious!

This dumpling empire is much better than the west o location. More inviting and doesn't feel like a sweatshop like the other. If you haven't tied the cucumber salad tour missing out on the best sauce. Service is typical of most location not over the top but not bad. Sitting is plentiful. I will surely drive here to have dinner.

Perfect service, super friendly staff, easy to get a table and parking was easy! The food was very hyped and it was delicious but not completely up to my expectations. Overall a great meal! I would love to try more dumplings on my next visit!

Very good food. Shrimp and chicken fried rice is my go to, alongside the pork steamed dumplings. Crab rangoons are very good as well. Always good service and very clean restaurant.

Each and every time, it has been consistently delicious and affordable! The ambiance when eating in is very colorful and fun. The staff we interacted with were all great about any questions we had or recommendations we asked for. We started with the Pork Potstickers. They were juicy and full of meat (no skimping, here!) that was perfectly cooked, along with plenty of sauce for dipping. Another starter we tried as the Dumpling Soup that comes inside a dumpling and gooshes out when you cut into it. The soup inside was salty and delicious, and I loved the style it was served in. Our last starter was the Beijing Noodle Soup. It came with Asian noodles, minced bits of pork, and lots of shredded veggies. It reminded me of a few other ramens I've had, but with a twist on it, as the meat was minced so it was a lot easier to have a bit of the meat in each bite/slurp! After our starters and soups, we obviously had to get a few bao buns each - I think we probably tried all of them when all was said and done. They have both steamed and fried bao buns, and we tried both. They definitely had a different texture than each other, but I liked them both; they were just different styles. My favorite was the pork fried bao bun. I liked the chicken and the beef steamed options too, but the pork seemed to work best as the protein along with the fried bao texture. Everything we had on our first visit (and that I've had in my subsequent orders) has been absolutely delicious and cooked expertly - so I don't think you can go wrong with anything you try!

I also got a side of refried beans which I liked a lot because it also seemed to be cooked to perfection. Located at Q & 24, there is a small parking lot behind the restaurant. Pro Tip, you order with your wait staff at the table, and they give you a check number. When you are ready to leave, take your check number to the front desk. This is really efficient, so you can settle your bill on your own time, and not have to wait for the wait staff to bring your bill, run your cash or card, wait some more ... I like this business model for fast casual dining. I've started my 24 Ave S food tour starting at Q and ending up at Cuming. I am looking at non-chain places to eat. I am convinced 24 Ave S is one of the most delicious streets in all of Omaha.

I was cautiously optimistic because I like bao buns, so I gave this a shot. I ordered a few things to make sure I liked at least something: -Spicy Mongolian Beef Bao: This was my favorite thing I got. It was a nice little soft bun filled with a tangy beef mixture. It wasn't too spicy, so don't let the name scare you off. Just a little twinge of heat, but mostly for flavor and not blasting you out of the room with spiciness. -Teriyaki Chicken Bao: I usually love teriyaki chicken, but I didn't love it in this bao bun. The mixture inside was overly sweet and there was no other flavor to cut down on the cloying flavor. I tried dipping it in the provided soy sauce, but it didn't help very much, so I sort of gave up on this one. -Spicy Kung Pao Chicken Bowl: This was a nutty mixture of toppings with little bits of chicken, all over a big hunk of white rice. The chicken was good and packed a little punch of heat. The rice below was ok for a while, but it ended up not being super flavorful once all the meat and toppings were eaten. Maybe it was a little too much rice to mix with the small amount of toppings provided. -Ginger Chicken Potstickers: These were pretty flavorful and they did not skimp on the filling. The crimped spots holding the potstickers closed was a little bit too crispy (I like them to be a little crispy, but this was on the verge of burnt and hard.) All the items I ordered (including a $3 soda) totaled about $30 before tip, just to give you an idea. The packaging was done well and branded with the Wow Bao logo, which was nice when so many other ghost kitchens just use the host restaurant's packaging/containers. One thing I will note, though, is that the bao buns have a little paper underneath them that says what the flavor is, so you can tell which is which - but that paper sort of sticks to the bun, so be sure you take that off (it's a little hard to remove!) I'd say if you're craving delivery bao buns or rice bowls, this is an okay choice - but I'd recommend a few others (non ghost kitchens) before this one.
