I searched online using Google and Instagram and found many options, most of which were way over the price point we were hoping. I am so thankful I stumbled across Kauai Photo and Video's instagram page! I loved their photos and how they were more natural light photographers vs. being overly edited/filtered. They are very reasonably priced and don't try to add on extra charges for travel etc. like many of the others do - it did help that they are located in the South Shore and we were staying in Poipu. The best part was how comfortable Jordan and Emma helped made us feel during the photoshoot! They were very friendly, sweet, communicative with suggestions on how we should pose, and accommodating when we asked for a few additional shots of certain poses we had in mind. The finished photos blew me away and I am absolutely obsessed! My husband and I both agreed that the photoshoot was one of our favorite experience and memories from the trip overall! I had booked Pete's fiancé (Meg Courtney) for our "enchanted elopement" photos. My friend had…read morementioned that Pete does videos. At first, I was thinking eh, I don't really need a videographer or more still photos...until I found out what made him special. He does drone footage! I tried to research about drone videos/photos and if it's worth it but there wasn't much out there about it. That intrigued me because I'm thinking -- hey, we are gonna be on this beautiful island and the aerial shots and video will allow us to relive it over and over again. So, we did end up going with Pete for some still photos and a minute video (enough to allow the folks who weren't there to see our enchanted nuptial!) It was so worth it! Both Meg & Pete were the best decision we ever made when it came to our elopement. Pete was so nice and laid back -- must be from his southern side. Did not pressure us into doing anything that we weren't comfortable with. He was even nice enough to hold my heavy floral bouquet! He has been living there for quite some time now so he was able to capture the island beautifully. He knew what works and what doesn't. We just walked around Ke'e Beach aimlessly, and it was awesome! Now the results -- AMAZING! Once again, I am in the film & tv industry. All my colleagues were blown away by how beautiful the aerial shots were and the video was edited smoothly! The quality of the footage was flawless! With the aerial shots, I was worried that he would get other ppl in it, but luckily, they blended in and we couldn't even tell. He had the photos and video to us within less than 2 weeks -- and I know for sure he had other events he was working. Most people wait MONTHS. First off, a friend of mine had found Meg's work off of Instagram and suggested that I reach out to her. Mind you, I was planning an "enchanted elopement" in less than a week and a half. Luckily, since it was an elopement -- we were pretty flexible and so was Meg! My husband and I had never been to Hawaii so we knew nothing about the islands or Kauai. I tried to research as much I could but was a bit overwhelmed. Meg was more than happy to make suggestions on different vendors, location and what was the best time for shooting. We settled for Ke'e Beach. I am so glad she suggested that because it provided us different types of photos -- jungle, beach, sunset, etc. The timing was also perfect for a natural lighting with the sun and waves. Meg's overall presence and personality matched ours, too. From previous photographers I have dealt with (from my family & friend's weddings), she did not push us to do things we weren't comfortable with. She was so laid back! Also, we aren't the most romantic and subtle type of couple. We are the loud and silly type. She was able to capture us perfectly in the photos! After she spent about 3 hours with us, we went our separate ways. Then a couple of hours later, I received a few sneak peak photos!! How awesome is that! I got the remainder of my photos in less than two weeks. She took more than she had promised too! Now, I want to add that I am in the film & tv industry. From the words of everyone in my industry, WOW! They said that I picked the perfect person for my photos and loved her artistic eyes. We are so glad we went with Meg & Pete.
