A good NY bagel I spotted this place last night when my wife and I visited the Vietnamese restaurant a few doors down last night. I wanted to take another look at the area, and also score a bagel. As far as the area is concerned, it needs some attention. Whoever owns or manages the Crest Plaza should get out and pick up the trash. There is litter all over and it makes the place look terrible. As for Kathy's Bagels, that was good. I stopped in and it was busy, people standing around to either order or waiting for their food. I didn't know exactly where I should stand to order, but I figured it out. When it was my turn, I wanted an Everything Bagel, toasted, with Cream Cheese. The guy who took my order was definitely the person in charge. He was doing six things at once and doing them all well. He was a real New Yorker. And this was a real NY bagel that was a little tough and a little chewy, not like those bread like bagels I often find in Florida. It's good to be in NY. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!!! Especially on Sunday!!!!!!!!!! I honestly have to say I am quite disappointed in the staff that works here. This morning I went to pick up a breakfast sandwich and a customer was cursing at one of the employees. He was being very disrespectful to her. At no point did the other staff ask him to leave. They continued to let this sad individual talk down to the employee. Bagels are made fresh everyday, the best in town. They also have a variety of altenatives, their spinach omelette is really good. Only downfall is sometimes it's super crowded in the morning and the staff can be kind of short with you. Best advice is to order ahead and sometimes that may be a challenge because they don't always answer the phone. Over all I would definitely recommend them. Not to bad but ordered a wrap I usually go to three boys deli in my ivy and the wrap is twice the size for around the sane price. I got a spinach wrap with turkey egg white and Spanich. Was very small and hardly any spinach inside. I must say there iced coffee was very good but kinda expensive for 3.25. The staff is very friendly and inviting. Very rude staff !!! I slipped in the parking lot because it's EXTREMELY icy !!! I informed the woman at the counter who said "We informed the landlord" and walked away. I've been going to Kathy's since 2008. I don't live in the area, so this establishment is not my go to, however when in the area I go. I want to start off by saying since I last visited Kathy's a few years back, this place has changed quite a bit. This place used to rival all the other bagel shops in Rockland County, but now I can tell you 5 other bagel shops that are much better than this one in a 10 mile radius. For one, I don't remember the bagels being as doughy, and flavorless as they are now. Service is extremely slow even for call a head orders, you must still stand on the same line as walk in orders. I find this to be majority of the reason for my low rating. Nonetheless the patrons who frequent this establishment don't seem to mind their flavorless Bagels and slow service because it's always packed. I say if you're not from that area just grab something before you have to go to SV. read more

Kathy's bagels gives me my morning fix! I moved away for a year and was unable to find anything even remotely close in 2 different states! I love NY's deli selections and this one is definitely on top for me! The food is fresh & never stale, & if there's ever any issue with the order they will replace it without any pushback! I couldn't give 5 stars because 1 time I did go in and because it was so busy I was never attended to & ended up leaving within 15 minutes of not having my order taken. I work in the area and Kathy's was always my fav. bagel place to go. Then something changed. It became a absent owner business. Since then it's been down hill. The staff just doesn't seem to want to listen. With no exaggeration 80% on the orders were coming out wrong. I stopped going a few months ago. Just this past week to decided to give them one last try. A bologna sandwich is all I ordered. I figured how can you screw up a bologna sandwich. Well guess what, they did. The woman behind the counter was too busy wrapping up the deli stuff getting ready to leave even though I was there at least 45 mins before closing time. She wasn't listening to how I ordered the sandwich and didnt get it right. If the owner would take more time in his shop and hired staff that represented what a good food establishment I would not be writing this review. DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY! On top of being one of the most expensive bagel shops in town, service is horrendous. I went this morning and noticed that there weren't any lemon flavored pure leaf ice teas in the fridge. I asked the male worker if there was any possibly in the back somewhere. He said he did have some but they weren't. I let him know that's not a problem, I was willing to purchase the room temperatured ice tea if I could get a cup of ice. He then tells me I would be charged for ice even though they didn't have the drink already cold!! They'll try to get every penny out of you, any way they can. read more
