Pretty disappointed in the strawberry cream cheese. It was overpowering and I've never had strawberry cream cheese quite like this before. The egg and sausage bagel was very thin and not much on it. So I'm pretty shocked at my breakfast order this morning. There was no line, nobody in there and I ordered an egg, cheese and avocado on a roll. I paid $6 for this breakfast sandwich. I opened it and noticed there's maybe 1 egg and barely any avocado (they charged $1.85 for this). I work in midtown and my breakfast comes to about $5 flat and it's definitely fuller. This morning I had the most amazing bagel from here. It was my first time coming here (recommended by a friend) and boy this was quite a Fourth of July treat! The red white and blue plain bagel with cream cheese which to some people might sound boring but to me it's one of my favorite kinds of bagels was honestly out of this world. The flavor of the bagel I cannot even put into words. It was fantastic. I can't wait to go there again and try something different. I got the pasta with feta, kalamata olives, basil, tomato, etc...brought it home to eat for dinner, and I find a green stink bug inside my pasta salad. Never again will I visit this establishment. I have been coming here for 4 years and I have put up with rude customer service, wrong orders multiple times and now bugs in my food. I contacted the manager Sam at the establishment and he tried to blame me for the bug, when I explained that it was at the bottom of the salad mixed in, he said "oh!". The apology was half assed and offered to give me something else. I have been a customer for 4 years and the manager thinks offering more food from an establishment that serves bugs would suffice. No thanks! I will be contacting the health department and better business bureau. Word of mouth goes a long way, you lost a lot of customers. *****UPDATE***** 10 mins after I hung up with Sammy Shortly after I posted this review I got a call from the Owner Harry and I felt that he genuinely apologized. Zimis is my absolute favorite bagel shop of all time! I am from Pearl River so I have grown up on these bagels and I compare every bagel I have to a classic zimis bagel. I have not found any bagels that come close to how good the bagels are from Zimis. They make them all day in the shop and you can see them make them from the line if you look behind the bagel display. Their sandwiches are delicious and they also have a lot of baked goods. Another one of my favorites is the chocolate chip muffin. People complain on yelp about it being crowded, but that is expected because it is so good! I believe it is worth the wait. I use to love Zimis, but the past several times have been nothing but disappointing. I understand times are tough with increasing prices in food and staff shortages but that is no excuse for rude service and burnt food. I've gone back multiple times even after unhappy to try and give the benefit of the doubt but today was the straw that broke the camels back. I ordered 5 sandwich's (which were over 30 dollars) and all of them were incorrect and one inedible. Never would I ever think an employee would see a bagel look like that and still wrap it up and serve it to a customer. This order was called in so I didn't see them making it. All in all this place is overhyped, overpriced for the amount of food given, and the customer service is atrocious. This is my favorite place to pop in when I visit my family in Pearl River! They have delicious bagels, great spreads, and my personal favorite-- a fantastic traditional black and white cookie. I usually bring home at least two cookies along with our dozen bagels that we cut and freeze to eat when we are home in Richmond, VA. My husband is a big fan of their whitefish salad on a bagel and has also enjoyed the gold standard NY breakfast food: BECSPK. (To those not native to New York, that's a bacon, egg, and cheese with salt, pepper and ketchup!) Zimis can get pretty busy, so definitely plan ahead for a decent wait time, but it's worth it! When you order a bacon egg and cheese they always cremate the egg. And if you ask for it any other way it's always under Done. I love the food and I have been coming here since I moved up from the Bronx in '07....however, over the last year, every time I come in there, the service and the way me and my husband are treated is down right disrespectful. Every time we come in there, we always wait patiently to order our food. When it is finally our turn, the staff completely neglects our presence and takes the patrons order behind us. We have spoke to the staff about this and ask why, just to be told "sorry, didn't see you", then proceed to take our order with an attitude. I would understand if we were new to the area, but we've been coming to eat here for the last 14 years, in addition to working at a neighboring business. I'm honestly disappointed. Great bagel place close to many wedding venues. We just wanted to grab a quick bite in the area the morning after a wedding so stumbled upon zimis. There's was a really long line when we got there which was a little intimidating and we almost decided to go elsewhere but decided if the lines long it must be good. SO glad we didn't leave. The line was pretty fast moving and then bagels were delicious. I got a turkey bacon egg and cheese, my husband got a bagel with plain cream cheese, and my cousin got a veggie omelette on an everything. We also got hot coffees which were pretty good quality for a small deli like this. We all enjoyed our food and even tho the place is small there was at least one table open to sit and eat/talk they whole hour we were there (just because we were talking). Most people probably are locals and just bring the food home but if you're just stopping by it's definitely a cute little deli to sit and talk before parting ways. read more

OOOH I love Zimi!! You can get breakfast (ham & egg on a roll or a bagel) or lunch. Their soups are excellent. And their wraps! For $7 you can get a huge wrap. They also have Irish teas. The employees are also very hardworking and the line of people moves quickly. read more

I'm glad we ordered ahead by using their prepaid system on their website because when we got there this Sunday morning, the line was out the door! But once I got in, my entire order was already there at the pickup table. And there were no mistakes with anything!
