Ultimately reached out to Karin with a pic and the question, "can you make a cake to look like this?" Not living in the Hudson, OH area our communications with Karin were via email or txt. She said yes and gave us a price...we settled on the pick up date and paid on line. "Easy peasy lemon squeeze" as my 15 yr old would say. I have to admit I was nervous the day we scheduled to pick up the cake. My wife talked about a show called "Nailed it ", and how this cake (for our daughters first bday) could go the way of the cakes on the show...in other words badly...we were both nervous. Like a true professional the cake was in an amazing box wrapped with ribbon and a candle...the cake looked so amazing we almost cried. Of course it tasted perfect. Everything about the cake was impressive...everyone who attend the party was impressed lots of o's and ah's to go around...for the cake. The man behind the counter explained what they offered and what exactly was inside every treat I asked about. The place is tucked away into a plaza, and it is absolutely stunning inside. There is a nice area to sit inside with a few tables if you choose to dine in, as well as a larger outdoor patio space to sit at which I really liked and will be perfect in the summer time. Jossi's had a lot more then just bakery as they offered traditional Latin food options such as empanadas as well as some other warm pastries. They also do custom cakes and personalized orders which is really awesome and they seem like a great team of people to work alongside if you are interested! I tried the carrot cake cupcake which was light and delicate, as well as tried the packaged alfajores which were not my favorite but was happy to try them. They also offered specialty coffees and drinks as well as selling their own ground coffee for purchase in a horchata flavor. I do wish they had their prices posted on the large menu just to reference as I found myself having to ask the price of a couple things. Overall, this bake shop is a charming place and reasonably priced and I am glad to have it tucked away into Broadview Heights. Since there were several cars driving around looking for a parking spot, I decided to take my items home instead of enjoying them in the car. We also tried their mini tarts in lemon and cherry, as well as their apple crumble in phyllo dough. This was interesting and I have never seen it wrapped in phyllo dough.
