If you are interested, here is my experience: I was told a few months before my wedding that Natalie would deliever my cupcakes the day of my wedding, no extra charge. Three days before my wedding, Natalie called to inform me that delivery would be an extra $100 dollars. Because I did not have her original promise to deliver my cupcakes in writing, and because I did not have someone to pick up 250 cupcakes or a spare $100 dollars, I asked Natalie to cancel my order. Natalie said that she could cancel my order, but there would be no refund. I was floored. Natalie was ready to charge me for services that she wasn't even providing. After trying to negoitate with Natalie (and being called nasty words) I filed a dispute through my bank. The dispute process was a headache three days before my wedding, and trying to find another caterer that quickly was a nightmare. I only share my story because I wish someone would have warned me to stay away from Natalies. Any company that is ready to charge you for services you never received, is an untrustworthy company to me. I wish I would have never trusted my money to this company. I am just hoping I will be able get it back.

We wanted unique flavors, a light buttercream frosting that would not be too heavy since we also served ice cream and an elegant design; all in a reasonable budget. Kathy delivered on all fronts with a beautiful four tier cake in two flavors. We chose a white cake with strawberry balsamic buttercream filling and lemon curd filling, it was delicious, moist, sweet and tart. Our other flavor was a take on Buckeye flavor: chocolate cake with ganache filling along a with peanut butter-buttercream filling, decadent and a real hit here in Ohio. Kathy made the whole cake experience unforgettable with a tasting right at her dining room table and a handmade sketch of our cake to go along with our design decisions. It was delivered on time to our venue and finishing decorations were placed on site. It was gorgeous. And all this for less than $4 a serving + a $35 delivery charge. I thought the prices were a little high, but easily justified by the quality and presentation. Our barista was friendly and worked as quickly as she could, considering she was by herself behind the counter during an afternoon rush.

Wow the muffins were moist and explosive with flavor. My favorite was the coffee cake, nice crunchy top, middle was baked to perfection and the muffins held together while eating them. To understand how good the coffee cake was you have to grasp the carrot cake, which was filled with a cream cheese center surrounded by fresh warm carrot cake. Full of flavor, moist on the inside and structurally sound on the outside. The carrot cake was almost as good as the coffee cake, but there has to be a winner and a loser, unfortunately today the carrot cake came in a close second. Any other time Mr. carrot you would have won; but today the clear winner is the coffee cake. Try them both and decide for yourself!

When it came time to try the cakes, we selected around 5 top rated cake places to try in the area. Frosted Cake Art was one of them. Mind you, before I review the cakes, know that Seema (Frosted Cake Art) is a home based business going up against long standing bakers, and the wedding venue itself which has over a dozen fine dining restaurants. We cannot complain about the other venues we sampled, however Seema's cakes were an obvious cut above the rest. "The Cake Tasting" itself was a beautiful experience, trying several frostings, cake types, and many fillings. Elegant and organized "The cakes" are consistently moist while still keeping their interior structure. We like to headline that point. Rare "The frostings" are ALL good. no alkaline taste, no granules, no empty taste, not hard like cold butter, nor are they too light and whippy. Smoothest texture you have ever experienced. Rare "The fillings" are exceptional. We wanted to use everyone of them. Even the more dramatic flavors we considered, although we didn't come in to the tasting thinking we would. All-in-all, for a small 75 person wedding, we decided to go with a multi flavored, 5 layer behemoth of a cake because we just wanted everyone to experience greatness. She is patient and literally listens and applies all the details. She uses digital and actual templates throughout the process, willing to change and offer advice.
