I understand that to some degree my straight hair makes it a challenge, but I've had bangs many times before but never anything like this. Lastly, I was left with all the loose hair on my face and eyes. At any other salon I've been to, the stylists would usually dust my face off as a courtesy at the end. I paid almost $35 for this and left feeling incredibly disappointed.

They got me in over 15 min past my appt time with a different person. Keep in mind there was no call notification whats so ever. When I was taken to the back the bed they wanted me to lay on was dirty with visible dirt and a paper that only covered 2/3 of the bed. As a cosmetologist myself, if something as simple as the being bed is dirty, I would absolutely NOT trust that the wax is clean as well. Since I was getting a Brazilian I do not trust that they are not putting double dipped wax on my kitty, avoid if looking for a place. This coming from someone in the beauty industry and who is aware of the sanitation procedures.

My All Star esthetician, Roisin, customized the facial for my skin and included antioxidant deep cleansing, exfoliation, light extractions, mask, and moisturizing using quality natural ingredients such as pomegranate cleanser and coconut enzyme peel. I opted for a 90 minute service (Groupon holders can ask to upgrade their 50 minute service for an extra cost) which included a super pampering and wondrous head, neck and shoulder massage, arm and hand massage, and lots of comforting and refreshing, lightly fragrant hot towels. Roisin was truly outstanding, and I found out she is trained in Ireland. The other esthetician at All Star Waxxing is Lisa. All Star Waxxing deserves high marks also for their super easy, user friendly online reservation system, and very friendly staff. Star followed up with answers to my questions and text messages will confirm your appointment as well as keep you reminded of any upcoming ones. Located in King Center with Bank of Hawaii and Chez Kenzo at 1431 S King, 2nd floor, All Star Waxxing is easily accessible by stairwell or elevator. There is a cute waiting room with a pitcher of water and some nicely wrapped products for sale; they make good gifts. On a Saturday the parking gate was up so there was no hassle getting in and out of the parking lot without paying a dime. I highly recommended a facial here and I can't wait to return.

Every SINGLE time I show them an inspiration picture & tell them what I want, it never comes out to the way that I want it. I ended up finding a hairstylist at this salon, (I don't want to disclose her name because she was a sweetheart), through TikTok, and this individual was raving about how they fly out of state just to come to Hawaii to get a haircut from her. I also liked that it looked like a high-end, upscale salon, and that you get complimentary drinks (coffee). The hair salon is tucked away in ward, and it's a smaller shop connected to a barber shop. It's beautiful, luxurious, & very clean inside, which I appreciated. Let's talk about the hair washing.... My scalp really needed some tlc...however, when my hairdresser was washing my hair, it was VERY painful. The massage did not feel relaxing or enjoyable at all, and was actually excruciating, as my hair was being consistently pulled out of my scalp, even after the fact I told her I have hair loss. My scalp ended up hurting the following day. I just didn't have it in me to tell her this, so I kept it to myself. I showed her inspiration pictures of what I wanted, and they did NOT come out how I wanted it to be at the all. I also told her that I have to keep my hair long, because I always wear it up for work, and that I wanted it to my waist. Now, I have to use bobby pins for my hair because there are bunches of hair that is too short in the front. On top of that my hair is to my chest.... so probably about like 5 inches too short. I had long, unhealthy hair, that really needed a trim but I did not want my hair to be this short. I feel like I look like the berries and cream guy, (which might be a little dramatic, but this is how upset I am). I wanna cry, and this is exactly why I stay away from hair salons. So now, I'm contemplating if I want to spend $600+ for hair extensions, just because I hate it this much, and I can't even look at it when it's down. On top of that, I did not receive a complementary drink, nor was I offered one so I'm disappointed about that too. It's safe to say that I'll probably be waiting another year or longer to get back to the length that I want it to be. I won't be coming back to this salon unfortunately.
