Unibrow be gone! Melissa was the waxer we lucked out with for my teenage daughters first experience at a waxing place. First time waxing can go really wrong if you pick the wrong place or wrong person, I'm glad we picked EWC because it was a good first experience with waxing for my daughter who doesn't like to go to salons (haircut maybe once a year) and doesn't wear any makeup (not even lip gloss)... Why did I like EWC? 1) special purple wax that doesn't require felt strips to rip it off, and my daughter said it didn't hurt. (Makes me want to get my brows waxed here too!) 2) they advertise "no double dipping" and I watched as she threw each one of those popsicles sticks away. (It made me think of all the other places I've had my eyebrows waxed...pretty sure they didn't toss that many sticks, or any at all). 3) private rooms with lay flat beds like doctors office, even for brows. 4) Melissa understood what my daughter wanted, which was just to clean up the brows, not completely reshape or overpluck. 5) they have "first service is complimentary", because they are confident you'll come back. I literally hadn't had a brazillian in over 8 months and I was so nervous. I did under arms, lower arm, lower legs and brazillian. Laura is a waxer who seems new and may take just a little longer but her technique is wonderful. I had a Brazilian done and it was 50% less painful than any other waxer and I have been going to European Wax for four years now. The receptionist there are wonderful and very tactful. I've had not great reception at other European Wax centers that were just very abrupt, pushy, or just seem like they didn't care or were bored for the day. Love going here it's my primary Center when I am in hawaii. Do not go to the Kapiolani location parking is a struggle and you must have your card present you cannot use tap or anything on file I've never experienced that before and I happen just to leave my purse in the car which was far for me and wasn't able to use my phone or just ask to use the card on file that I've been using for the last 4 years. read more

Love this place! I checked this place out yesterday for the first time. Parking is ample which always makes it nice. I set an appt online with Maria because I read the Yelp reviews that highly recommended her. Brow waxing is $22, but for your first visit, it is FREE! I did tip $5 though. Anyways, upon entry, the doors are locked. Someone has to let you in so they can take your temperature first and ask if you have traveled out of state recently. Then you enter and check in. Then out popped my esthetician and wow someone had their coffee! Maria is so vivacious and so high energy; very welcoming. I need to take what she is. This young 30-year-old needs to be working at Disneyland because she is just so bubbly, happy and bouncing off the walls. Maria took me into Room #1 and I lied down on the examining table where she inspected my eyebrows and asked what exactly I wanted done as I held a mirror to my brows. She then talked me through everything she was going to do. She was very gentle and doesn't just rip off the wax. After waxing, she cleans it up with some fine tuning of a tweezers, brings the mirror over to see if it's okay and if so, you are done! Just like that! Easy Peasy! Maria did a great job, but her customer service is even better. She is a local girl from Moanalua H.S., but doesn't sound local. Very sweet, thorough and gentle. Thank you Maria! I've been getting Brazilians since 2015 with my regular Estheticians for both wax and sugar Brazilians but due to a conflict of scheduling and availability I had to look elsewhere:/ hence me coming to EWC. This place is very nice and clean and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are also nice and clean. I saw Micaela, who was very sweet and knowledgeable in her service. She was fast and very thorough. The only thing I'd have to note is she never left the room for me to undress and dress myself before and after the wax session. I'm used to getting some privacy before and after a wax, which was done by my previous wax and sugar Brazilian estheticians. They both also had baby wipes for us to "prep" prior to our service. Not sure if it's something we can request from EWC but I'll try it during my next visit. The front desk girls were super sweet! There was one that was in training and I over heard them really making sure that understood everything and would be very helpful when customers came in. I decided to see Kapua since she was spoke so highly of on yelp! What The heck what I do without yelp? I don't want to imagine:( I was super early for my appointment because to me, there is always the worry of traffic and I didn't want to be late, plus I wasn't all the way sure of where exactly I was going. I have a tendency to be a little late and I know no one wants to deal with being late and not know where you are heading. It's been a few months since I last went to get a Brazilian and honestly I was nervous... we all know how painful it gets when we don't go consistently! When she knew an "ouch" strip would happen, she told me to breathe in and breathe out and held my skin so the pain would dissipate. I've been a EWC (European Wax Center) customer since they first opened their Oahu location in Pearl City. When I first heard they were opening up a EWC in Kahala Mall, I got excited. I mean the PC location wasn't too far from my place in Salt Lake, but to go there on the weekdays after work would suck because I work in town and you all know how traffic is on this island. Plus, I decided to follow my esthetician Lisa to Kahala since she was moving to that store. EWC is located on the top floor at Kahala Mall near Pure Barre and T-Mobile. There's ample parking at the top parking lot, so I've never had a problem finding a stall. The girls at the reception desk are super friendly and always chit chat with me as I wait. As I mentioned above, my preferred esthetician is Lisa. Well duh she's my preferred esthetician, I followed her here! LOL. But she's amazing. She makes all situations, such as waxing your brazilian, as comfortable as possible. The wax EWC uses is painless and eventually the hair grows back slower and thinner, which is awesome because I can now push my brazilian to 5 weeks instead of 4, saving me from spending more mula on this service :) The great part about EWC are their wax packages: Yearly Unlimited Wax Pass and the Prepaid Wax Pass. Each service has their own fees for both plans. For any plan that is $150+ can choose to pay for it in 2-4 installments, with no interest rates, just taxes. On top of this, their other perks to their loyal customers include: when booking online, you earn 25 points; pre-booking your next appointment as you check out, you earn 100 points; and referring a friend, you earn 500 points. They also have an app you can download to keep track of your appointments and view your points. I have been using the European Wax Center since I lived in New York. I was ecstatic when they opened up shop in Hawaii! I have a wax pass which basically gives me a few extra waxes if you pay for them in advance. I also use their app which allows me to make appointments at my favorite location and with my favorite aesthetician. The Kahala location has a great parking area on the upper level of the mall. I was able to find it easily because my realtors office (Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties) is next door. Once you arrive and you check in with the front desk you may notice the lovely smell enveloping the whole establishment. I usually go for Brazilians: always recommended beforehand is a painkiller 30 mins prior. The appointment usually takes 15-20 mins and involves some friendly banter if you are up to it. I have had many ladies perform the service and I have no complaints. Everyone is friendly and professional. Afterwards, they confirm that I have used one service from my wax pass and I leave a cash tip. The employees of the Kahala Mall European Wax Center are great and I always look forward to visiting. So I have had to switch to the Kahala European Wax Center (EWC) cause they are so fast and thorough. To my surprise my fave front desk worker Ariana has also changed locations. She is so good at helping you get the best package for the best price. Now I have officially switched EWC. They don't have a slow waxer in the place. I had to give Lisa a try today, my usual waxer Nicole is on vacation. Dilemma again cause Lisa.Was so fast too. I even had enough time to get another wax in! And I was in and out literally! Sorry to my old Pearl City EWC but I have a new home. And the new front desk girl Avery helped me out also! So this has to be the best EWC experience. Lisa is super professional and puts you at ease immediately with her friendly attitude. My wax appt was over in less than 10 mins, quick and painless! I went with their "Buy 9, get 3 free" package, resulting in 12 waxes for $405, not a bad deal considering it's usually $45 per session. - The wax pass has no expiration date. I decided to give their Smooth Me ($27) ingrown hair wipes a try. The girls there claim that it not only prevents ingrown hairs, it also doubles as a hair growth inhibitor. They said over time, hair growth is thinner and less. Sounds a bit too good to be true? I'll let you know in a few weeks if it's any good. **Cut your wipes in half to get double the amount of wipes. Today was my first time at a EWC and I had a Brazilian with Christy . Scheduling an appointment was very easy online and there were times available throughout the day . It is on the second level of Kahala mall and there is ample free parking. To check in I just scanned the bar code in the door and was greeted quickly and taken back to the room . I'm always anxious with a Brazilian because of the pain but this was my least painful one EVER-seriously . Something about the wax and technique made this a breeze compared to other Brazilians. Christy was so nice and patient-she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed . She was meticulous and professional which I appreciated. When I was done (about 15min later) I got dressed and was checked out at the front (you are able to leave tips on card which is convenient). It was my first time and they gave me a discount which was a great surprise and some samples of their products . Attended the soft opening of the European Wax Center! They offer all kinds of waxing services including eyebrows, underarms, stomach, back, bikini and Brazilian. I stopped in today to get my eyebrows done. I was greeted by the cheerful Nicholle, a new resident to the islands. She carefully explained her process and helped me decide what eyebrow shape would look best for my face. Afterward, she applied a serum to soothe my skin and filled in my brows. At the end of the service, Nicholle showed me a few of their exfoliating products to keep skin soft and youthful. The location is a little challenging to find, because the address doesn't exactly align with the location when you enter it on Google maps. They are on the 2nd floor of Kahala mall next to the T-mobile store. They won't be open until May 18th. Until then, they are offering complimentary services to help their staff practice their waxing skills. Overall, a positive experience with very professional staff. I'll be back in 4 weeks! read more

Walked in on a Saturday and got my eyebrows done by Lisa. I'm always nervous when new people wax my brows, but Lisa made me feel really comfortable which made me feel more confident in her. She explained everything she was doing plus made conversation in between. I really enjoyed my time there AND loved the shape of my brows. She listened to what I wanted and didn't go overboard (like some places do). They are smart because they schedule your next appointment while you are there. It kind of feels like you are seeing an actual Doctor. Because of this scheduling technique, I came back for my second appointment and had the same pleasant experience. Now I was ready to buy their package deal: $180 for 9 eyebrow waxes and get 3 free. I figure it's worth it because it saves you $60. I've been so happy since this location at Kahala Mall opened up, an easy 5-minute drive from my house! I previously went to the Pearl Highlands location and would schedule my appointments on weekends when I'd be on the west side. No longer necessary! The Kahala location is in the upper level, accessed from the Hunakai Street parking entrance, between the T-Mobile and the new Pure Barre. Since moving my appointments to Kahala, I've been seeing Lisa, probably the most efficient wax specialist I've ever had! I normally have my eyebrows, upper lip and chin done every three weeks, and she managed to wax all three areas in about 20 minutes or so - and does an excellent job, not a rush job! She is always so pleasant to talk to; we often have conversations about life and random stuff, which always help put me at ease. European Wax Center also sells beauty products like lotions and body scrubs with various scents that help with managing hair growth. I recommend the Graceful scent if you like floral scents like I do. I use their brow powder daily, which is so much better than the cheapie CVS brand that would go on too heavy, even with the lightest touch. My favorite product is their exfoliating gel, which comes in different formulas for your face and body. Loss of a star due to my recent experience. I checked in for a 9:15 appt and told them I had a yoga class so needed to be out at 9:30. I pre-paid and everything so that I could go right after the appointment. (I didn't think this was a crazy request because it usually takes 15 min.) At 9:27 I approached the desk and they apologized profusely because they had forgotten to check me in.... I got an appointment later in the day but was disappointed this happened. The products they use always smell amazing and make my skin less red than at other places. However, I'm not a fan of the fact that they are always ready to sell them to you! After days of hinting to my boyfriend about wanting to get waxed he surprised me with making phone calls and scheduling me at this location. Upon arrival the greeting wasn't exceptional and the vibe seemed low. We checked in and the Front Desk Savannah asked if this is our first time here and we replied with a yes and gave her the information she needed. Shortly I was called in and Gabby was the waxing esthetician. She seemed like a quiet, go with the motion kind of person. Once again, the mood was low energy and to make it a bit less awkward I initiated a conversation to make the time pass by smooth. As she proceeds with the process I allowed her to do her thing. The service felt rushed in a way where she did not seem to care about her work. Sure enough I glanced down and I see she left hair behind. She quickly responds with, "oh there will be a few still left I'm going to leave it and next time you come in it'll all be gone." Why would you do a service that is not done 100%??? It is mind blowing! After wrapping up I had already felt disappointed. At the Front Desk she asked right off the bat to schedule an appointment and as I had told her we live more Central of the island and we came to Kahala just for the Service who was available to see us that same day. I asked if we could schedule closer which would be Pearl City and with that attitude she had she told us we had to call them to schedule. So as we pay for the service that was quoted us from the beginning to be $28 last minute she upcharged us to $56. And once again went straight to asking us, "gratuity". I was so upset from the horrible customer service to charging us double when we left I decided to call and speak with a manager. When I called Bella answered and I asked to speak with the Store Manager, her response was she's not in. I asked when will she be in, because I had a very disappointing experience I did not want my message being tossed around. She says she's not sure when she'll be in, she'll most likely get back to me in 48-72 hours. Now I feel that they were not taking my concern as serious as I had expected. I asked for a number I can call to directly speak to about this and she says no. I just don't quite understand how this is OK for them to allow me to be furious and have no empathy or concern. Clean rooms and prompt service. Also love that they have wax passes and referral incentives . I recommend getting wax services at EWC!
