I showed up on time for my appointment today, had to change waxers because my wax person was running behind and had to take a forced break even though she said she would take me. They got me in over 15 min past my appt time with a different person. Keep in mind there was no call notification whats so ever. When I was taken to the back the bed they wanted me to lay on was dirty with visible dirt and a paper that only covered 2/3 of the bed. As a cosmetologist myself, if something as simple as the being bed is dirty, I would absolutely NOT trust that the wax is clean as well. Since I was getting a Brazilian I do not trust that they are not putting double dipped wax on my kitty, avoid if looking for a place. I have been coming to this center since moving on island and it is one of the best centers I've ever been to. I see Agnes regularly and she is such a great waxer--she is so precise and efficient and so kind. It's so easy to talk to her, even while getting a wax in the sensitive parts. I want to put 0 stars. I went in for my first-time free service (eyebrow waxing) and was "helped" by Leila. She told me about how she had gotten wax in someones eye, but not their lashes, so there was no need to worry. Five minutes later the wax from underneath my eyebrow dripped down into my eyelashes. She went to get her manager and I never spoke to her again after. The manager ended up having to cut my eyelashes off. I left with half-done eyebrows and less eyelashes than I walked in with. read more

I recently made an appointment for EWC with wax specialist SARAH for a Brazilian. I was shy as it was our first time together. Doing a bikini wax is intimate but a Brazilian wax cross into marriage lol! So when my normal specialist was out sick I took a chance on SARAH! And she did not let me down. She made me feel instantly comfortable and took great care of me. She reminded me a lot of my girl Kristen! I have seen others but Kristen & Sarah are Top notch to me! Update: I have been going to this Wax Center for over a year now and I have to say this has been a great. They make it the easiest experience ever. They have these wax passes cover the whole year and make it easy, and just like a walk in and go, but even better they help you schedule the next one out, let you know when they have deals and sent reminders when your appointment is coming up. You can text to ask questions and reschedule and pick your favorite aesthetician. I always try to go to Kristen. She knows how I like my eyebrows and what I usually get, talks about my kids and cats and makes a really this super natural atmosphere that makes it really comfortable. I like that they suggest different products. They have this easy to follow display if you don't want to ask what's what and have testers. All of them smell pretty and go on night and have no residue at all. I use it for after care and it makes my next appointment cleaner. All in all 5 stars yet again. read more

While I always have a great wax experience with the technicians they are all professional and skilled. This is the second time I had an unpleasant experience with the front desk's staff poor, rude, and unacceptable attitude. The level of customer service is way below average and downright rude. When I entered yesterday Maggie was cold and cocky. I simply then asked if they had been having any issues with the parking app today - she barked "WE DONT OWN THE PARKING!" I asked to cancel my appointment today because her attitude was unacceptable and to see a manager which she gave excuses and didn't know how to handle the situation and continued to be rude and condescending. With further checking I found out she is the assistant manager at the Pearl City EWC. Leadership/corporate please do something to improve the lack of customer service here. I'm thinking this is why the front line staff turns over so quickly seems there are always new faces when I visit every 4-5 weeks. read more

Today was my first time getting a wax in a really really long time. Not really sure what sparked me to want to get one after all these years but but I'm so happy with my spontaneous choice to visit EWC. The space was clean, the front desk employees were kind and really seemed to enjoy working there. Maia made me feel comfortable and communicated what to expect really well. Although I was nervous and scared at the beginning, I left feeling great, confident, and ready for my next appointment! I was in and out in like 15 minutes. I highly recommend booking with Maia. I had some insecurities and she sent me home with some suggestions and product recommendations that she really likes. 10/10 experience (minus the expected pain that comes with waxing) Oh! And since it was my first time they gave me 50% off of my service which was a nice surprise. I purchased an after-care serum and was gifted a welcome bag with other samples too. tldr; Absolutely fabulous service from start to finish. For context, this is my first wax. Getting Booked: I reserved a date/time online via the EWC app. Enrollment was quick and easy. I also got to complete all the forms before my appointment, so I literally had nothing to worry about upon arrival. Vibe: I was kindly greeted by the receptionist and we got to chat for a bit before services began. I arrived about 15 minutes before my appointment, and she definitely kept me engaged. The music choice n volume enhanced the environment. The shop is cute and quaint, not overwhelming / too brightly lit. Services: Brazilian + Upper Lip. I had the privilege of being serviced by Maia. I have always wanted to get a Brazilian wax done, but have been reluctant. I get asked if I'm Okinawan pretty often, so you can see why I'd be apprehensive! Anxiety set in as I waited in the reception area. I was mildly paranoid that I wasn't clean enough for the appointment. My aesthetician, Maya, walked me down the long corridor to the room. Her voice was calming, almost familiar. That calm you get when you know you're in a safe space. I got into a couple position for her to complete the waxing services. One was the cannonball, which was mildly uncomfortable because my flexibility is awful! Lol We just chatted about movies in the theaters and content we've streamed and before I knew it, it was done! They use a specially patented wax that focuses on grabbing hair, not the skin. I would say the most severe pain was 6 out of 10. However , if you've gone through childbirth or a divorce, it's a cake walk. Maya is definitely the person to see if it's your first time getting a waxing done, or just touching up. I never really feel inclined to give reviews unless it was a terrible or spectacular service and today, it was most definitely a great experience. While I used to live on the west side, I always went to the EWC location in Pearl City. Greetings were not as friendly/welcoming. I guess it really just depends on who's working that day but every visit was just ehhhh.. I usually get a Brazilian which is painful as is. I went to the same wax specialist just because it was easier since rapport was already there. Sometimes it would hurt more than I anticipated and I'd be really stressed out about it. I probably wouldn't really recommend that specialist to anyone just because she was rough, didn't ask if the temp of the wax was good, which occasionally would burn me. And sometimes, she would take her time ripping the wax off... Anyways, I moved to town and decided to give the EWC Kapiolani location a shot. I was extremely nervous because I hadn't up kept my Brazilian for about 3 months. I booked with whoever since it was my first time and I had Kalani. First off, the staff there was soooo much more welcoming and friendly. Kalani took me right away and she too, was very friendly. I felt comfortable enough to tell her that I was nervous since i didn't maintain my Brazilian. She assured me that if needed, she would trim down. She trimmed to help ease my anxiety and away with waxing! I thought it was very mindful of her to ask if the wax temp was okay for me. She was really quick and She fanned me after each strip with her hand to help cool it down. I was so impressed, I hardly felt any pain like I usually did. Soooooo after all that, if you guys need a wax specialist for a Brazilian and are nervous, she's the girl!!!!! As someone who was just passing by on vacation it can be pretty intimidating to go to someone new but Sarah is amazing, makes me wish I lived here! The service was pretty quick for a Brazilian and was one of the least painful waxes I've ever had. Apprehensive to write this review... Because this place is too good and I never go to anyone else for help. Jazz is the best! Well what can I say? I'll come to this location from Pearl City during peak traffic times just to make it to my appointment! The first thing you'll notice when walking into the storefront is it's cleaned often and the receptionists are friendly! The atmosphere is calm and safe. And you can tell everyone works as a team! Its very professional. Additional plus is they validate! My esthetician of choice is Jazz! She has helped me to feel my most beautiful vibrant self! I refuse to see anyone else! I get a bikini wax with her and I have NEVER felt uncomfortable and always feel safe. Many of us can say that its awkward to receive your first Brazilian wax. I come in apologizing and feeling a bit of shame for being "a bit grown out". The reassurance Jazz provides while doing the service is assuring and genuine. She's never made me feel bad! Every strip she lays down feels like she's helping me remove insecurity! She's great at providing encouragement as she lays and strips the wax! (we have to have a pep talk before removing the hair or I let out a cry for help!) When most of my Bob Ross is gone, she' will offer to pull the little stubborn hairs the wax missed.With certainty, I can vouch that Jazz is thorough, gentle, and helpful. I normally don't use European Wax in California because I don't like to undress in front of anyone; it feels cheap to have someone there; it feels like I am a child who can't be trusted. However, after calling dozens of wax centers in Oahu and not being able to get an appointment for weeks...I decided to try European Wax and they fit me in without any issues last minute (two days in advance). I didn't have to waste time filling out any paperwork (because I used them before in my home state). They were clean and professional. The price was great (some other wax centers quoted me outrageous prices). They also sent me reminders via text. Be on time and don't be late or they will cancel your time. Arrive early to find good parking. Also recommend being careful in that area of town but it is not that bad. read more

This is the SECOND time I've been turned away from my appointment. Made an appointment through the app. Show up in the afternoon on time only to be told that they were only accepting phone appointments and my app appointment wasn't valid. I asked them why didn't they call me in the morning? They said they were busy so they weren't able to call. They said because of COVID "all" European wax centers are only taking phone appointments due to the extra cleanup time it takes (???) So guess what I did? I called a EWC in California, where they also have COVID and cleaning protocols, to ask if they aren't taking app appointments. Funny, they said they are absolutely taking app appointments. These people double booked me and I wasted my time and efforts coming here. AND when you try to call them, they don't pick up... Why not just have a regular wax salon if you want to operate by your own rules? If you're going to be a franchise then I expect the operation to be consistent at all locations. This location is living in the dark ages compared to the other EWC franchises. read more

I bought the package here to get my brows done and it has been so worth it! I can either schedule online or over the phone and request someone specific or who ever is available. When I come in I wait outside till it is my turn (because of COVID they let one person in at a time). They let me know when it is my turn, take my temperature, ask me the standard COVID questions and I am escorted to my room. They are all very nice, wear their mask and face shield and require that I wear my mask the entire time. After my service they deduct from my package and I leave. Super quick and easy! read more

If I knew about the gem called LISA, I wouldn't have stayed away from EWC for so long . Customer service on 1000% from the moment I walked in, &when this pretty turquoise haired girl came out to get me I already knew she was gonna be bomb! Something about her aura & personality..I knew I made the right choice b4 even taking my clothes off, lol. We all know Brazillians hurt like a MF & its been awhile, so i was fully prepared for the pain! After bein burned by a prior EWC in pearl city, I was nervous it would happen again...BOYY was I wrong! Lisa was friendly, asked me multiple times if I was ok or if wax was too hot- & she made me feel comfortable even tho she was looking at my lady parts w/intent to get me as smooth as a baby booty! I felt like I was chatting w/a GF the whole time, &it didnt hurt as much as I anticipated which is a extra plus! So very thankful that they are near my office & I can pop in during lunch break. I have been going to EWC for over 6 years now and have always being hesitant to try a new location because I usually have my designated waxer who shapes my eyebrows just how I like them after going through a few of the waxer who have made my brows too thin. Today I went in and as always the lobby area is always bright and clean, the receptionist was nice and friendly going through the usual protocol of asking about medications or allergies. I saw a review on Lisa from the Kahala location and saw she was now at the Kapiolani EWC so I thought I'd give her a shot. Lisa was AWESOME! She cleaned up my brows just how I like them and made the Brazilian a little more bearable (sorry for kneeing you!!) haha . I will definitely be coming back here to see Lisa and highly recommend everyone else does too! Parking is available in the garage (go a little further down Kapiolani and you'll see the ramp) and EWC will cover 1 hour of parking ! read more

I've been with EWC for almost two years, never had a problem. I'm visiting from CA and I decided to come in for a Brazilian wax. The day after, I get four red painful bumps. I get waxed once a month and never have I ever had any type of reaction. My wax lady was very nice and the process was quick but not satisfied with the outcome. :( read more

I am a fan of European wax center and love being able to use my pre-paid pass at any of the locations. Made a last minute appointment to get a wax. It's very conveniently located (I can walk from where I live, but definitely call to inquire about their parking and how long they validate for). My waxer was from the Kahala location but she was really good! I look forward to hopefully finding a permanent waxer at this location. As with any new place, one of the things to be mindful of is new staff. The receptionist was training, so i was patient while she checked me out for my service as well as rang me up for the products I bought. Been here once so far for a wax and the service is stellar as usual! I am from the Bay Area and have been a EWC member for YEARS. This is the only other location i've tried aside from my home location and so far I'm loving the consistency. I also appreciate the covid protocols or making guests wait outside as well as the QR system of notifying them you're there. If I could give EWC zero stars I would. Twice I've had to come in and twice I've been denied. Their customer service is below par and have a million "policies" that they don't tell you prior to coming in. I've taken off work 2 times in order to make my appointment to be denied 2 times. EWC has taken lots of precautions to be covid cautious which I greatly appreciate. The staff at this location is always friendly and very helpful. I've gotten brazilian waxes and my brows done by a couple different waxers but my favorite, hands down, is Kate! She made me feel so comfortable and taught me some helpful breathing techniques.
