The service was good, my two cats came back great last summer, full shave for both. My main complaint is that this business is booked months in advance. Which is unfortunate, and they don't seem interested in expanding this business. Also, it is cash only which is odd. It makes me think things aren't on the up and up. read more

He was matted from neck to tail, he looks absolutely ridiculous because Kathy had to shave him, but he is so happy that I can rub his whole body, not just his head, he has been all over me since we got him home.. I normally trim my dogs hair myself... as I have done in the past with my other dogs who have been difficult, but this time I thought I would let a groomer give it a go. Plus, I am not a professional, I just shave him down, trim him up quickly and he is good to go. This time, I wanted to see how he would look, after having all the works done. Upon a friends recommendation, I set up an appointment with Kathy and let her know that my dog doesn't have too much tolerance for grooming. She and her assistant were very nice and I was assured he was in good hands. Off to work I went. I want to pause to say, their shop is on the small side, but it is pretty neat looking. Upon entering, there were soooo many different breeds of dogs, being groomed and waiting to be groomed. As well as cats! All the animals seemed very content and a lot of wagging tails by the dogs. A little more than halfway through my work shift, they left a message letting me know that they did the best they could, but towards the end of his grooming, he started acting up and became aggressive. As soon as I could, I rushed over there to pick him up and apologized profusely for his behavior. They were very kind and had placed him in a crate with a fan to cool him off and calm him down. Despite my dog being a jerk, they did a wonderful job and even said they were happy to give it another try with him. He looked better than anything I could have ever done with him; smelled nice, nails trimmed and even a cool bandanna. Despite their kind offer, I am not sure I would bring Jack in again, simply because I don't want to torment THEM with another visit from the beast. BUT I would highly recommend Kathy's to any of my friends and if I ever adopted another dog, I would definitely bring him/her in. Kathy is very sincere and you can tell she loves her job. That is exactly what I want to see when I bring a member of my family in to be taken care of. UPDATE! Well, I took Jack back for another try. No problems whatsoever! Courtney, who groomed him that day was excellent. She said they took it slow with him and did things more at his pace... they also came up with different ways to handle him because he isn't a fan of having his paws handled... so this was awesome and I was soo grateful that they take the time and are patient with my grumpy old man. He looked like an adorable puppy again and looked quite spiffy in his bandanna! :) Again, would highly recommend Kathy's. Love how my dog looks and love how they treat him here. read more

I have very difficult little dog to groom, with a specific cut that I like. It's always done perfectly. Kathy takes her time with troubled dogs that get scared easy and makes sure to comfort them and always gives them a second chance. She's so knowledgeable and friendly with the animals. It always feels like your dog is going to a play date when they are there. Great shop. Would and will recommend to anyone who needs their dogs groomed. Or cats. Plus it's affordable! read more

Kathy is so accommodating, we did a walk-in nail trim (we called first) and she cheerfully did the job plus ear cleaning for our doodle, who doesn't like either necessary grooming routine. She's patient and knows just what to do. There were several pups in crates watching, nobody was crying or in any apparent distress, clearly doggie clients are at ease under Kathy's watch. The shop is clean, neat and tidy - and busy, a sign of return happy customers. I groom my dogs myself, but the ear and nail part I leave to Kathy. If I didn't DIY I'd trust her and her staff in a heartbeat to groom my doodle or Maltese, I could see she's in her element. Highly recommend! My dog is very timid... And I'm a very particular, kind of a pain, as a customer. Kathy was patient, kind, and went out of her way to be accommodating to both me and my pet. She took extra time & care with both of us. She also gave my dog the cut I asked for which did not happen with our previous 3 grooming experiences. This is the best place for my small hearing dog to go for a haircut. He's a small corgi terrier mix and he's a service animal. Douglas is a very lovable dog.. but he gets nervous when he gets a haircut. Luckily Kathy did a super fantastic job of making it a good experience for him. Kathy is absolutely amazing with dogs. My dog tends to get aggressive when frightened. He'll do good at a dog grooming place for a visit or two and then he tends to work up the courage to act out. He's been kicked out of two different salons in the past. Kathy is so good about trying to figure out what your dog needs and then makes sure they have it so that they feel more comfortable. She told us to make sure our dog comes in for an early visit so there are less dogs around to stress him out. Our dog never bites people but he likes to act like he will and lunges and makes a good show of it. Kathy will just look at him calmly like - what are you doing? And our dog settles right down. I don't know what we would do without Kathy, but I'm so glad we found this place! read more

Kathy has groomed and boarded my pets for years! She's kind and affordable. Both dogs and my cat love her. We are pretty easy when it comes to dog grooming, but my Rottie hates getting her nails trimmed. She doesn't mind a bit when Kathy does it. read more

Got my cats hair cut here and he was happy as ever when we left. The groomers were nice and friendly towards the animals and when we got Smokey back he looked, and smelled, like a new cat. They had us drop him off and come back to pick him up later so just make sure you aren't in a rush, they are doing quality work here! read more

Took my cairn terrier in for grooming for the first time. My dog looked great and the price was very reasonable.

I had my shih tzu groomed and he looks terrible. I graduated from Paragon School of Pet Grooming in Michigan and I just don't have time or the equipment to do it myself right now. I couldn't believe the lack of attention to detail. Long hairs sticking up between the paws, hair remaining on the underside of the paws, long patches remaining on the ears, etc. I asked for a short round head and they basically shaved his face leaving him looking like a long haired chihuahua. Will definitely not be getting me as a repeat client. read more

NEVER again! I was shocked when I saw my dog when I picked her up from her grooming appt. Wow. I almost burst into tears. I would never take my dog here ever again. Cut her so short beyond belief. I told her to TRIM her fur ..... The girls helping out get an F for personality, too. I will make sure I get word out not to ever go here. I think it's time for this lady to retire. Communication is a ZERO when it comes to this groomer.Told me she was "nervous but not nasty?" What the heck kind of comment is that to make??? I would go to PetSmart before I ever went to this place! (and that isn't saying much about PetSmart!) . My dog is still a puppy. I tipped her too. I took my miniature Labradoodle here because of all but one fabulous reviews. I was disappointed. The cut is only ok, but they only shaved half of her bum hole and then there is a long shaved place down. Looks awful. I had to take her back in because they left hair in her ears. Her legs weren't cut at all and today I noticed her toes have some short and some long hair around the end. It wasn't worth the price. I also asked them NOT to shave her stomach and they did half of it anyway but left her private parts hairy. Maybe they just didn't care since we are from out of town and won't be a repeat customer. read more
