Of course, I thought she was Whitney. This is a bait and switch tactic that truly infuriates me. I needed someone really experienced. The haircut I received is the single worst haircut I have had in decades. I can do nothing with my hair, and I am headed to Mill Valley today, 3 weeks later, for another senior hair stylist appointment to fix Aliena's sub-par work. The blow dry I received also is in the running for the worst ever received. I went straight home after the appointment rather than do my errands bc I looked so terrible and my hair was still damp. Aliena is a nice person, but I am really upset that I did not get what I ordered, and on top of that, was deceived about the level of service I received.

She claimed that all Hair is treated anyways I used the extensions the few clips that I bought so I could not return them. I was in desperate need of new set so that's why I use them. It was very expensive for five individual clips. I feel like she took advantage. I called on Tuesday to book a color appointment and was told the colorist was on vacation, with Friday or Saturday as the next available options. Friday didn't work for me, but I was told Saturday would also be available. I also would've been willing to change my Friday plans to make this all work out. I called back Friday afternoon to follow up and lock in a Saturday morning appointment, based on what I had been told earlier in the week. Instead, I was told they couldn't accommodate me due to the Butter & Eggs Festival. I also received feedback that calling at 3pm when they close at 6pm wasn't enough time, which didn't make sense given that I wasn't asking for a same-day appointment--I was continuing a conversation to schedule ahead. What made this more frustrating was that I was trying to work within the availability they had already given me, but the expectations kept changing. While they did offer Sunday and recommended other salons (which I appreciate), that wasn't the point--I was trying to book within the options they initially provided. After this, I actually called again because I had rearranged my schedule for Sunday, hoping to still make it work. At that point, I was told Monday was the only option available. Unfortunately, that no longer worked for me due to work and moving to another city. I also spoke with the manager. While she was apologetic, it didn't feel like there was much effort to actually find a solution. She offered a new stylist that probably wouldn't be comfortable doing highlight but invited me for a Sunday appointment consultation to get me in. She acknowledged that scheduling and communication have been ongoing challenges there, which I appreciated the honesty around--but as a long-time client, that was also difficult to hear. This appointment was meaningful to me. It was intended to be my last visit before moving, and this is a salon I've trusted for so many important moments--engagement photos, weddings, graduations, and even just times I needed to feel like myself again. That's why it's especially disappointing to be ending on this note. I've always tried to be flexible and understanding over the years, but this experience felt like a continuation of inconsistent communication and shifting expectations, without much effort to meet me halfway. I understand that events and staffing can affect availability, but clearer communication and follow-through--especially with long-time clients--would go a long way. I'm genuinely upset.

I've never been one to get my make-up done professionally, but when Katie offered her services as a hairstylist, I jumped on it. And I'm glad I did! I have A LOT of hair, and often times when I go in for a "trim," much more gets "trimmed" off than I bargained for. Her spot is clean and she takes care of her clients! Asking how we're doing temp wise and makes sure we're comfortable. I've been to see her three times and every visit has been relaxing. She's totally worth the wait (I placed myself on her waitlist when I first found her). Also super easy to rebook appointments, she responds quickly over text. Appointment reminders via email and text.

There are a million reasons why Jacque deserves 5 stars, but I'll give you my top 3. 1. When I first met Jacque I was very unhappy with the color of my hair. I explained why I was unhappy, what I was afraid of because of past experiences (turning my hair blonde) and what I wanted. She took the time to explain in detail how she was going to fix my hair and get it back to the color I wanted. Her explanation made me feel so comfortable that I trusted the process even though it involved adding some blonde. When she was done, I was speechless with how great it turned out. Which is amazing, but what's even better, is she went and wrote down exactly what she did so my hair turns out the same color every single time I see her. I have never had another stylist in my entire life who has managed to keep my hair color the same more than 3 times. 2. I knew what I wanted my bridal hair to look like before I even knew what kind of dress I wanted. An up-do that I could be taken down for the reception. When I went in for trial, Jacque made my hair look exactly how I imaged and provided the tips I needed to take it down later as a practice run for the day of. My mind was set that this was how my hair was going to be, and then I watched an episode of Love is Blind that completely changed my mind. I called Jacque two weeks before my wedding telling her I was torn, she recommended another trail. She squeezed me in and I am so grateful she did, because the Love is Blind hair is what I ended up going with and I couldn't have been happier with it. The last thing I will say about the trial is that people tend to struggle with a foundation color for me because of my freckles, but not Jacque. She got it right on the first try! 3. The wedding day was flawless. Jacque brought two other stylists to help her and everything ran like clockwork and everyone look gorgeous! Not only that, but she made me a custom lipstick of the big day. A color made just for me! She also had lipsticks my wedding party could purchase day of. I've been a bridesmaid 10 times, and the lipstick is the first part of the makeup to go with out any options to reapply unless you bring your own (which I never remembered). This is just one example of how she goes above and beyond. If you are looking for someone to do your wedding hair and makeup or just a new hair stylist in general, look no more. Jacque is professional, kind, fun, consistent, and amazing at what she does!

Devotion Studio made my wedding day perfect. They listened to exactly what I wanted and did not…read moreoverdo it on the makeup. They communicated with me clearly and were on it from before the wedding to day of. I felt like myself but more enhanced! I was nervous about how to do my natural curly hair with some extensions and it turned our perfect.
