Well where do I start, I needed a new set of extensions, came across this salon so I go in asked if I can purchase new set was told she had to order them, once I got them, I opened box that looked reused then as I opened box I got a smell of hair dye. I've been buying hair for over 10 years and never did I open a box ain't got that smell. I questioned her about it. She claimed that all Hair is treated anyways I used the extensions the few clips that I bought so I could not return them. I was in desperate need of new set so that's why I use them. It was very expensive for five individual clips. I feel like she took advantage. They were either samples that she had in her salon, but I did not get new hair extensions very disappointed I was excited I had found a new salon where I can order in the future, but I will no longer be ordering from her. read more

If you have hair and you live anywhere CLOSE to the Bay Area you must visit Shelby at Refined Haircraft. Being in the military, it is so hard to find a stylist you like as well as trust and I found just that in Shelby. My locks were so damaged and dry and, on the first appointment, I walked out literally feeling and seeing the difference in my hair. Shelby is a true genius and always listens to my needs/wants and exceeds them. She genuinely cares about how YOU feel as well as your hair and wants you leaving happy. Refined Haircraft charges high-end salon prices without offering high-end salon amenities and services. The salon itself seemed small (and somewhat old and dirty). It had a "supercuts" vibe. I had a color and cut. Both were of average quality. I was charged the full price for both, even though in my experience salons will give you a bit of a discount if you get two services at once (as only a single wash and blow-dry is required). Shelby's prices are arguably over those of a high-end salon (yet the quality of her work is just average). Additionally, Shelby requests a 20%, 25%, or 30% tip (15% was not an option listed on the ipad she handed me) even though she is the owner of the salon, and many say the owner of a salon should be tipped less--or not tipped at all. (And Shelby rather brazenly stood over my shoulder to watch how much I tipped her.) Overall, Shelby came across as arrogant--and with no apparent gift to back up her arrogance. I won't return. I'm confident I can find better for less. read more

I've had a relationship with Owner & Stylist Shelby Wallace for three years, I recently followed Shelby to her salon Refined Haircraft.  Shelby always listens to my hair concerns (and sometimes romantic concerns!) she provides the answer to exactly what I am seeking. As a massive hair aficionado and a purveyor of all things related to hair and beauty. Refined Haircraft is my hair-haven, Shelby is an artist and tends to all of my hair needs including: blowouts, cut, color, keratin treatments and extensions. By far, extensions have made the greatest impact on my appearance. Having a thyroid issue my tresses are compromised. I've utilized both the Tape-in and Handtied methods. With both extension techniques the application is gentle and the execution is flawless. I personally, find the Handtied extensions to be more voluminous and beautiful. Recently, my natural hair gained a frizzy wire like texture due to a testosterone pellet, Shelby applied a silky Keratin treatment which added the lovely seamless gloss my natural hair needed to blend with my extensions.
