Hi Everyone, When…read moreyou unsure of what you feel like eating, what do you do? We like to frequent a restaurant with a good variety of entrees from which to select our meal. We sometimes prefer a cocktail or a glass of wine with diner and will occasionally have a tap only Guinness with our meal. We expect good service because we do not wish to wait, as most of us don't, because we have our lives to live and for some reason, we have gotten quite used to delicious, hot food! lol. We enjoy smiling, and laughing as many of us do, so a friendly, polite, and efficient Server is a plus. For all of these reasons and especially because we don't always know what we feel like eating, we would like to recommend to you the British Open Pub in Bluffton, SC. Why? Because the grub, sorry, food, I hate it when it does that, lol; is very tasty. Their menu offers a variety of different fare. Their atmosphere is quaint, pleasant, and laid back. They are trying hard to improve, but you won't find too many residents just hanging out at the bar as you might have before. They used to have daily specials which they don't have anymore. In addition, if you look at their hours, they're missing out on any golfers who return to the clubhouse after 4 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. They're also completely missing out on any weekend dinner crowd by keeping bankers hours. I would suppose lunch and brunch is the only thing they specialize in. Most golfers check in early around 7-8 a.m. and might even grab a quick breakfast or load up on some beer for the course. Unfortunately you'd have to return at 9:30 a.m. if you want service. I'm hoping they'll improve and become a bit more customer focused and therefore more successful.

Our excellent server Jennifer continues the tradition of great service at BOP. BOP was one of first Sports Bar on the island. Small property is divided between bar and restaurant, but we recommend patio dining. Perhaps it has been some time since the owners experienced actual British dining.... Missing is the ever present chicken dinner; also we cannot recommend their version of French Onion soup (we recommend a visit to Chez George.)

Their pizza tasted good, their service was outstanding and we did not wait for our pizza. They offer a New York/Philly/New Jersey style pizza which is much thinner than a Chicago deep dish. They are located in an outdoor location, so sunshine and blue skies are your natural ambiance which we felt was a terrific change. They are only opened until 7:00 PM now, but in March they will begin closing at 8:00 PM. They were not crowed when we visited so we did not wait for a table. However, we would recommend you call first to check to ensure they have availability first, as we did. This restaurant is open to the public although, you do have to stop at the Sun City security gate and get a pass to enter. We recommend Argent Lakes Pub & Pizzeria which offers a a full bar with beer and wine, a limited Pub style menu and pizza, and because it is a great outdoor restaurant which we felt was a lot of fun.
