The Pearl was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Simply put this place is amazing. I was solo and sat at the bar as the restaurant was full and that was the only option for a walk-in. However the seating was nice, service was outstanding and super fast. I asked for recommendations and was happy I listened to my waiter. I had the She Crab soup and honestly, it was the best I have ever tasted. It was more like a bisque and super tasty and rich and had lots of crab. I would put this recipe in the She Crab Hall of Fame it was that good. I then ordered the blackened Carolina Redfish and holy moly this dish was devine. It was a chargrilled blackened redfish over super smooth whipped potatoes, generous portion of lump crab, and just the perfect amount of citrus beurre blanc (note I deleted the spinach on my dish) and it was one of the best fish preparation I have ever had. I simply can't believe how delicate and soft and tasty this dish was. Unreal preparation and flavor that I would gladly order again and again. I really don't visit this part of the country that often, but this place will definitely be calling be back very soon. read more

We came here tonight for belated valentines dinner with my aunt and uncle who are visiting from Oshkosh Wisconsin. We have been here a couple of times but it has been awhile. Tonight was fantastic. We had dinner at 6 pm. The place was almost full. We finished at 8 and it is still packed!! Very impressive to be so busy. I ordered salmon... rare.. because I like it undercooked and hate it overcooked. This place cooked it to perfection just as I asked. That is rare. Richard ordered the seafood stew. He ate every morsel... included wreckfish, shrimp, scallops... he loves a good scallop... and these were tasty and cooked perfectly. We highly recommend this restaurant. Last night was my first time coming here. Our reservation was for 5-7pm, they are very strict with that. We got there 15 minutes early and the lady locked us out and said we had to wait till exactly 5pm. Which I get but she just wasn't the kindest with how she said it. The food was good and the drink I got was good as well. I got the lobster and shrimp. It came with 3 pieces of shrimp and a 5oz lobster tail. The sauce in the carbonara it was with was very good. Go to The Pearl - it's outstanding l. The Pearl has been one of our best restaurant "finds" this year, and we dine out regularly. Our waiter could not have been more welcoming. It was clear his goal was for our party of 6 to enjoy our evening. He made great reccomendations and everyone enjoyed their meal. We started with fried green tomatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts and calamari - all were delicious.y friends and I all ordered different entrees and each one was a hit - we shared some bites. The redfish was perfectly cooked. My wife had the chicken francese and it was not just a chicken dish, it was phenomenal, the sauce elevating the dish. The halibut, short ribs and crab & shrimp piccata were all winners. The cocktail and wine list options were thoughtful. The desserts are made by a local woman and she deserves a trophy. We are still dreaming about the strawberry cake. It was pure strawberry flavor, nothing artificial. The frosting paired perfectly. The carrot cake was given a high ranking, too. This place has the BEST salmon me and my boyfriend have ever had in our lives! We visited a couple weeks ago and both got the Peach + Ginger Glazed Faroe Island Salmon and the Fried Green Tomatoes. The salmon was absolutely perfect, it was so tender and didn't taste too fishy. The sauce added the right amount of sweetness and the veggies tied it all together exquisitely. The servers here were really nice and very helpful with recommendations. Plus, the ambience was great. It wasn't too loud in the restaurant and it was very warmly lit. 6-8-24 7:30pm Saturday Reservation Open Table We heard great things about this restaurant so we made reservations for a Saturday night. The night of the reservation we drove past to find parking on the street nearby. We ended up around the corner across from the park. Once inside the hostess said it would be a few minutes and suggested we go to the bar. Unfortunately the bar area was very crowded so we ordered drinks and waited in a walkway for our table. Not a great spot to be standing in. Luckily not too long into our drinks we were shown our table. I had several Cosmopolitans they were refreshing and delicious. They had nice bread and it went well with my she crab soup. Also had a pear salad hubby had the wedge salad. We shared an order of Fried Green Tomatoes. For our main course I had the scallops. The Pearl has become one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is consistently great and so is the service. We've dined outside on the patio and inside the restaurant several times both on our own and with family and friends. Everyone always loves it as much as we do. I've gotten the Grouper Casino a few times and it's always the best grouper I've had anywhere in the local area & perfectly prepared. I just tried the Diver Scallops and loved them. I was pleasantly full after my meal but, if you're looking for a larger portion, the grouper would be a better choice. They have dinner specials on the weekend and if they offer the Hanger Steak, get it! Unbelievable! If I were to come up with anything I'd like them to do better, I'd love to see a larger selection of better white wines by the glass. I order the Rosé, which is great, but more white wine options would be nice. The reds on the list have multiple and varied options. We're clearly repeat customers! read more

I was visiting on an event tour with my Marriott Vacation Club Timeshare and the food smelled delicious before was even entered the establishment. Our group had a private room upstairs that I found to be nice. We went through the kitchen and climbed the stairs to the private dining area. The 2 dedicated hostesses were polite and prompt. Had a reservation for my wife's birthday (put that on the reservation, also my wife is pregnant) booked over a week prior 6:30pm on Monday. We showed up and got told our table wasn't ready and they said to go to the bar and wait so we did. 15 minutes go by and I have to go ask the host about our table, apparently the people just aren't leaving our table but they find us a seat outside. We've now been here for 25 minutes. Order appetizers Brussels sprouts which are fantastic, but now it's been another 25 minutes before our waiter comes to check on us while everyone else's waiters are constantly checking on them. Then we finally get to order food which takes over an hour to come out because "everyone ordered at the same time" at this point I ask the host if we can box our food before it comes out because our waiter doesn't come by often (not blaming him but we were his only table outside). They give us a free crab cake which is nice I guess and then we go home which is 3 minutes away from the restaurant and our food is cold and very sub par. I've been here before and had a great time but it was my wife's birthday and it kind of ruined the night so pretty upset... read more

Very nice environment, the restaurant has a nice intimate bar, outdoor eating in the front and a nice dining area with live music We started with wine, they have a healthy selection of choices, and two appetizers. We ordered the beef carpaccio and the wedge salad with house made blue. The carpaccio was enuff for two to share - very tender but missed seasoning.. I'd rate it 7 out of 10. The salad we were told was big enuff to share but that was not the case , way too many red onions (never seen that on a traditional wedge ) and the blue cheese dressing was thin and not chunky - disappointing 5 out of 10 For entrees we had the Texas redfish over whipped potatoes- this was the best executed item we ate an 8.5 out of 10. I ordered the grouper casino . It was supposed to have a mustard cream sauce, come with blistered tomatos, ancient grains , spinach and Shitake mushrooms. I found my dish came with two un blistered tomatos , no shitake and so little mustard cream sauce i had to request some and the sauce was flavorless .. fish was a 5 out 10 We finished our dinner sharing a thin piece of carrot cake. With so many options in the Bluffton area, I typically look for 4 or more Yelp stars when choosing a dining option. So, when a friend made reservations here, I was unsure what to expect. This spot should absolutely have more stars! Everything was fabulous! The atmosphere is upscale cozy, the service - welcoming, attentive but not overbearing. And the food, oh the food! Never do I order stew in the summer bc it's already hot enough outside. Unless I am here. I will forever struggle to order anything other than the Calibogue lowcountry stew. It delivers a plethora of properly prepared seafood in tomato saffron broth with a hint of tarragon that is so very savory - whilst remaining light on the palate. There's just enough rice to give the dish another layer of texture. The unassuming grilled bread accompaniment is smoky and mildly chewy in just the right way. Divine! My companion had the aptly velvety, rich she crab soup and a beautiful salad (new to the menu?) with grilled peaches, burrata and candied pecans, which she topped with grilled chicken. Wine was poured with a perhaps generous hand, but no complaints on that either. There was little room for dessert, yet I managed to navigate the incredibly luscious , silky mango gelato (crowned with perfectly ripe strawberries & blueberries) with no regrets. If this establishment somehow doesn't reflect 4 (or more) stars at the time you read this review, perhaps it's because others are trying to keep it under wraps. Be kind to yourself and go! read more

Decent food. Went here with family and dog on our visit to Bluffton, and we might have come at a right time, because we got outdoor seating only immediately. I had the 14oz "Special strip", which was the special of the day version of the New York Strip. It was rather excellent, and would recommend it if asked. It had a mix of three different sauces (red, white, and brown) that I liked the best; of those, the brown sauce was my favorite. However, I still feel there was something "missing" and overall the dish was not that flavorful to me. I remember trying steak in some other restaurant, and the sauce and dish overall was absolutely heavenly. By comparison, this doesn't match up; however, the overall presentation and the combination of the sauces here was quite to my liking, and enough to make up for any lack of taste on the steak itself.
