There are stairs to second floor. There is a freight elevator which could be used for accommodation but I did not ask. Aisles are wide and booths are well organized. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a free cup of coffee or tea to shoppers. The restroom is accessible and clean. Booths contain everything from vintage clothing and furniture, new and used items and antiques, glassware, sports and modern collectibles, jewelry and everything in between. Prices are very reasonable. This store is very close to Indiana Dunes and Dune Acres. It's a fun way to pass some time and wait for that special item "to call your name'.

Basically, it's nearly impossible to actually see the wares offered at Katie's because there's just too much to look at. Your eye can't fall on any one particular item at a time. I'm not a business-savvy person, but I can't imagine this is the desired effect. Another thing I found more than a little strange is the surprisingly large number of porcelain mugs, vases, and steins in the likeness of Ben Franklin and other crusty-looking Baroque characters.
