This was such a nice little place. I like that it was wide open so if you had kids they could run around from one thing to the next and see them from afar. Their pumpkin patch was legit. They had red, blue, green, pink and Orange pumpkins! So cute!! Great value for the price!

5 Star experience. Our first time here. I hate County Line as they are way too commercial for me. My usual place was closed :( Windy Ridge Farms-love them. So I set out to find another place to get our yearly pumpkins. Admission is free. There are animals to pet and feed (25 cents per handful). We loved them all: llamas, goats, ponies, horses, cows, bunnies, pigs, & chicks (not for petting). My 4 year old rode his first pony. I was so proud. There is a children's train to ride & manual train cars for kids to hand pedal on a track (that was really cool). We planned on riding out to the pumpkin patch, but after waiting so long (a private party had taken over one of the tractor/wagons) we decided to just get from their enormous selection there. We filled up a wheel barrow with huge pumpkins, gourds, & a couple bags of popcorn. Our total for the whole thing was $56. Impressive, when you see how much we got. The environment was laid back. We were lucky to go on a sunny day with warm weather, so the setting was perfect. I'm already looking forward to going back next year.

This place is insanely overpriced. I can see it's appeal for families. But I don't think we'll ever go back.

My favorite is strawberries, peaches, cucumbers, green beans and apples. The prices are fair and you can also purchase by the bushel. Folks are nice and there are tractors to take you out to the fields. You can score fresh baked goods, frozen pies, meats and some canned items as well. Definitely bring water and a hat on sunny days!

After a short tractor ride to the fields, we started with the raspberries and were able to fill our container in about 20 minutes. We then moved on to the strawberry fields. After spending an hour and a half in blistering heat, I was only able to fill about one-quarter of the container because there were virtually no strawberries available. Everyone picking alongside us seemed equally disappointed and frustrated that containers were being sold despite the lack of fruit in the fields. What made the experience even more frustrating was the no-refund policy, which meant we were out the money regardless of the poor conditions. I understand that crop availability can vary, but customers should be informed when fields are nearly picked over or offered a refund or alternative. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend this place to others.

Dollinger Family Farm checked all the boxes, so we gave it a shot. I'm so glad I did because we had a very positive experience. We arrived on a Saturday right when it opened to avoid crowds. There were others there, but distancing was so easy. There were signs everywhere about wearing a mask and there was also a hand-washing station. We noticed a lot of other farms that are an easy drive from like Chicago did not take this pandemic seriously at all, so we loved supporting a farm that did take it seriously. We looked a bit at the animals--so cute!--before heading over to look at the pumpkins (AKA the main event). They had a tractor set up with a bunch of assorted squash for the perfect photo op. Then, pumpkins were sorted into piles based on size with a sign with the price. For example, a pile with $8 pumpkins. I believe the most expensive were $12. We selected two $8 pumpkins that were huge! My only suggestion would be to actually label the pumpkins with prices. The people in front of us in line picked a pumpkin from the $9 pile, but the employee insisted that this was too big of a pumpkin to have come from that pile. She said sometimes customers move the pumpkins around. I don't blame the customers for being a little frustrated because they obviously picked their pumpkin with the price in mind. We were worried this might happen to us, but they did not question when we told them we picked $8 pumpkins. The service was excellent. An employee actually took our pumpkins and we could drive up to pick them up before leaving. It was so helpful not to have to carry these huge pumpkins over to the car ourselves. We will definitely be back next year!
