I was introduced to Katie via a friend, who sent me a podcast about managing energy debt. I had been struggling for several years with burnout, from parenting two demanding kids, from working a high-intensity job, and just from "life in general". I couldn't remember the last time I felt peaceful or had a good night's rest. I had tried meditation retreats. I had tried yoga. I had tried unisom. I am not generally a fan of podcasts and self-help frameworks often make my eyes glaze over, but Katie's early episodes had me absolutely hooked. Don't be fooled by her casual and easy-going (even sometimes bubbly!) manner... it belies an incredibly sharp ability to articulate some very squishy and abstract topics. So I reached out. But because of Katie, I feel much much capable of identifying what it is I need, finding the courage and calm to draw that boundary, and perhaps most importantly, putting processes in place so that the boundaries stick without me constantly having to redraw them. I worked with Katie during a time of enormous change and upheaval in my life and am so thankful to have had her guidance. She asks thoughtful and targeted questions to get to the heart of the issue, gently nudges you toward what you want for yourself, and has helped dislodge my brain from so many long-held beliefs and introduced new ways of thinking to help my mind become more flexible and less stuck in old patterns. My experience working with Katie was incredibly positively-impactful for me during a period of significant change in my life. When Katie and I began working together I was in the process of the finalization of my divorce after 21 years of marriage and the responsibilities of my two children who lived with me after my ex-wife had moved-out. When I started my coaching with Katie in March 2021 I wasn't sure if life coaching was for me. I don't even know where to begin with this review because I want to gush about Katie but still sound sincere. Katie really is a miracle worker. I was in a rut last year, not clinically depressed but my unhappiness in my career was pulling down all parts of my life and I didn't know how to process some rough job events that had occurred over the past couple years. Katie is kind, funny, perceptive, and tenacious. I had in-person one-on-one sessions with her which always felt comfortable yet productive. I hate facing with my emotions (I'd prefer to just not have any) and I hold my cards close to the chest. Katie did an amazing job of giving me space while nudging me forward and respectfully pushed my comfort levels. By our last session, I had nothing to talk about (in a good way) because she had given me the tools I needed to process my thoughts and feelings in a healthy manner. I feel like I'm a lighter, happier version of myself and a better partner, friend, and coworker than I was a year ago (my boyfriend outwardly agrees to anyone I say that to). I know not everyone clicks with the same people, which is important for coaching, but I encourage anyone who's in a rut or curious about life coaching to at least have a consultation with Katie because she's worth it. read more

Katie is such a delightful human! If she wasn't my (former) life coach, I'd want to be BFFs. Because we all need someone with this kind of soothing, accepting, warm energy in our lives. In early 2018, I was coming off a major career shift and some major personal realizations, so I was feeling very out of sorts in my own life. I worked with Katie for one-on-one coaching (via video calls). Not only did she support me through the transitions, but she armed me with the tools to live a more authentic and... feeling life from there on out. You see, I used to be pretty terrible at recognizing my emotions and needs. I had years of practice pushing it all down. Working with Katie taught me how to come into myself and respect myself so much more. I love her sensitive, yet practical approach (with homework assignments and readings, for the check-list lover in me). While we didn't usually talk about food and eating directly, I liked knowing that she "gets it." Somehow, the work we did on myself and my personal relationships seeped into my body and food relationships too. So I now feel armed to address any of those lingering issues. A year later, I feel more connected with myself (and I'm often super aware when I'm disconnecting). My relationship with my partner is stronger. My relationship with my family is more authentic. I'm still working on many things, but I feel empowered to keep doing that work. It wasn't easy getting here, but it was so, so worth it and I don't think I could have done it without Katie's support. How do I even get started? During the 6+ months of working with Katie I have transformed in a way that is so subtle yet so powerful. I'm able to deal with fear head on and challenge my critical thoughts. I'm able to affirm myself an believe in my worth without needing validation from anyone. I'm able to manage my social anxiety and move the focus away from being liked to paying attention to the other person and asking, do I like them? I feel like the work I did in the past 6 months with Katie have catapulted me forward and I made progress in my own personal goals (weird eating habits, tech habits, personal art goals) that would have taken years if I had not worked with Katie. I have so much more time now to make art and to focus on my passions rather than feeling frazzled at work. If you're thinking about it, I highly recommend working with Katie. Warning: be prepared for your life to change in the most beautiful and subtle ways. I had a FANTASTIC experience working in online one-on-one coaching sessions with Katie for about 9 months over this past year. When I started working with her, I was looking for ways to tap into my creative side, address feelings of professional overwhelm (I was considering a career change), and confront some deeply-rooted body image and food issues. With Katie's help, I recognized that all of those things are about getting more in touch with my own wants and needs, so we focused a lot on me learning how to listen to myself. Katie is an amazing source of ideas for how to do just that. Though I have more work to do, I feel so much more empowered and skilled when it comes to listening to myself. Katie's approach was practical and productive--I left each session with a new practice to try, or a new way of thinking about something--but also sensitive and responsive to whatever I needed and whatever mood I was in. I felt very listened to. She helped me to identify some goals that felt very "me," and I always felt like she was adapting her approach to best meet me where I was. Katie is a very intuitive person herself, so it's no wonder that she offers such valuable ideas about how to be more intuitive to others. I can't recommend working with Katie enough. read more

I've worked with Katie several times, from the beginning of her coaching practice to two of her group offerings this year. I participated in the Dessert Club, which is a small group course that focuses on having a healthier relationship with food, as well as a follow-up to the Dessert Club that focused more on life coaching and developing self-awareness, authenticity, and comfort in our lives going forward after the DC. If you're looking to work on issues with food, I couldn't recommend the Dessert Club more. It's held via video conference and emails, and it was very convenient for me as a busy professional while remaining personal and close-knit enough that I felt supported and engaged. It also changed the way I viewed food. She was very up front with the group at the outset about the fact that one course might not be able to fix issues we'd built up over a lifetime, rather than trying to sell us a miracle cure; I still struggle with plenty of issues, but I've developed lasting habits (really) that have transformed (really) the way I approach food and eating. If you're tired of being stressed out about food all the time, this group is for you. You can probably work with Katie one-on-one to address eating issues as well, but I personally found the group aspect of the Dessert Club indispensable and I would highly recommend at least checking it out. As for life coaching, the program I participated in after the DC included monthly sessions of one-on-one coaching. Katie was kind and empathetic during each session, and I really appreciated that she approached the content with a focus on my individual situation and its challenges (if you've ever been frustrated by generic advice in counseling, you know what I mean). Though I was initially skeptical of how much I might get out of these sessions, by the end of the course I really felt that I had achieved breakthroughs in how I approached life and relationships. If you're even a tiny bit interested in life coaching -- if you feel like something is stuck or "off" in your life and you can't put your finger on it, I would recommend at least talking to Katie to get a sense of whether coaching might be a good fit for you. read more

I can write an entire book of compliments and praise dedicated to Katie, but for everyone's sake I'll keep this short. As someone who has stayed far away from any kind of emotionally-driven work (even certain types of meditative yoga are too hokey for me), I was finally too burned out and needed a new way to address my fatigue and the unsatisfactory feeling of "having everything" without feeling like it. I came across Katie through her fantastic newsletter (which I highly recommend!), and after a few months of passive reading, I decided to try it out hoping I'd have a written manual of sorts on how to "work better." Thank God, that's not what I ended up with because first off, those exist online for free (for good reason) and secondly, she exceeded every assumption I had about life coaching. Over the course of 11 months, Katie put me through intensive subtle work that seriously tackled the ineffable nature of "being stuck." She instantly understood my inclinations, my comfort zones, and nudged me safely into new territory without foregoing the kind of rigor I needed to latch onto. Through Katie, I've developed the skills--not to mention a comprehensive toolkit I refer to daily--on how to work through issues that come up for me, but she's also made me more aware of their root causes. I've entirely restructured my outlook and approach to work and "life," but I've also tapped into high-quality productivity that I didn't foresee at all--which was only made possible by Katie's inquisitiveness, razor-sharp focus, generosity, and patience. And who knew life coaching could also be as fun as it is rewarding? That's all to say: I can't recommend Katie enough. I'm so, so happy to have had such a wonderful experience with her and will continue to seek out her services whenever I will need them in the future. I worked with Katie for 2 years, both as a life coach and a food coach, and I can't recommend her highly enough! I initially contacted Katie to work on my relationship with food. She helped me learn to check in with my body's true needs (rather than my brain's ideas about how I 'should' be eating). Every session ended with a homework practice that we co-created together as a way for me to explore and apply the concepts we had just discussed. Towards the end of our coaching relationship, I found there were fewer and fewer issues to talk about at each session - not because the struggles in my life had gone away, but because Katie had helped me build so many skills over the years that I was able to confidently cope with the challenges I encountered. When I first met Katie, the only way I knew how to deal with life was eating sugar. Now my toolbox is overstuffed with skills and practices that were nurtured by Katie's guidance.
