I've been to Katie's Nails and Spa a few times in the past several years. They always provide a solid, quality service. They try to get people in quickly, but I always go in as a walk-in so I don't really have high expectations that I'll be seated quickly. They have polite staff and keep a clean shop. I almost always only get the most basic mani and pedi just for my preference, but I have seen them do really intricate designs on some client's nails. Very interesting to watch their creativity. Lol. They also have a plethora of colors and types of polishes and services. Overall, they are a solid choice for a nail salon with quick and quality service. read more

I usually like coming here but lately every time I get the "8 minute massage" - which is included in the 43 dollar pedicure which is deluxe - it's never included. I think today it was literally a min at that. I want to go and sit and relax with my tired feet and I was very disappointed. However the polish itself was great. read more

It took about an hour and 45 mins to get a regular pedicure and gel manicure. I asked for a rust color for my nails and showed a picture of what I needed. They absolutely destroyed my nails. My nails were NOT stubby when I went in there, and now they look so short. I told her I wanted a rusty orange color and she brought over like 7 different shades of red, none of them remotely close to what I needed. I even showed her a picture of my dress I needed to match. I appreciate trying to help, but she just seemed annoyed and didn't listen to what I was saying. And o usually always do a sparkle nail on my ring finger and this looks like some weird confetti glitter that a child would wear. I'm beyond devastated and it's for my sister's wedding! I went in to this salon today to make a mani/pedi appointment. The first person I spoke with who was sitting in a random chair on her phone seemed like she didn't understand me and asked if I've been there before. At least, I think that's what she asked. Another person came up to the front desk with a handful of notebooks, dropping her phone... a real calamity.... Saying they didn't have anything available for four weeks. What did I do wrong here? Overall, I find other places to be better, despite the fact that they seem to think quite highly of themselves, contrary to the plethora of evidence against that, even just in the photos from other clients here.... I was in Leesburg visiting family from NYC and my aunt recommended this place...and it was amazing! Very clean and the staff was accommodating and professional. I made an appointment for 10am on a Monday. They took me right away when I arrived and asked if I wanted water or coffee. The salon is neat and clean with about 8-10 manicure seats and 8-10 pedicure chairs. They had about 8-10 staff members working as well. They offer regular, gel and powder polish. I opted for the gel manicure which was either $30 or $35 (unsure if they charged me to take off my old gel manicure or not). Lee did my nails and she was very patient with me since I was so indecisive picking a new color. She constantly made sure I was happy with her service and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. All of the nail technicians spoke great English; no issues understanding. Overall, I would highly recommend. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to place! Next time I'm in Leesburg, I'll be back! read more

Stopped in here the other day with the bestie so she could get a touch up on a broken nail. ( I've told several times to use her teeth to open a beer bottle, but no one ever listens to me) Seriously though, she was ranting and raving about this salon, and once I stepped in the place I could see why: professional, clean, and friendly, a nail salon for the prince or princess in all of us. They matched her color perfectly, and the nail repair went off like clockwork. Her nail specialist asked me if I wanted a pedicure. Now normally, I am all over that like a dog getting ready to go for a ride in a car, but this time had just had the hobbit feet pedicured the other day, so I unfortunately had to decline. However, next time I am all about the mani/pedi. We were out of there in about 20, and her nails looked pretty awesome to me, but she have a sigh of I don't know which was my clue to keep quite and just nod my head. When it was all said and done, the verdict was not perfect but pretty darn good. Still, a nail hot spot worth visiting, a salon that puts most of the competition to shame. read more

I came in to get a gel mani and pedi and had a great experience. Ann and MyChi (spelling?) accommodated my tight schedule and got my nails done within an hour! They were talkative and humorous and my nails look great. I had the spa pedicure and while it was nice, aside from hot towels and scrubs, I couldn't tell the difference. However, I had a relaxing experience and my nails look nice. * they have plastic enclosure curtains to enhance protection through Covid and the salon was clean. read more

I love coming here and decided to have my bridesmaids and I get our nails done a day before my wedding. We ranged from getting gel, acrylic, and powder manicures as well as the basic pedicure. Jimmy did such an amazing job with my wedding day nails and I couldn't have been happier. They are the perfect ombre with a hint of glitter. He is very detail-oriented, making sure I liked the length and the shape of my nails. Jimmy also spent a good hour to hour and a half on them. Where do I begin? Well I was in the market for a new "professional" nail technician and I started searching close to home. My normal technician is downtown DC close to my office which was convenient at the time. Due to traffic I had to "re-strategize" my location ( I want to be close to home). My search of several salons led me to this cute little place around the corner from my grocery store, snack spot and my bank. I had no idea it was here! Fee: I believe $$ is comparable to the service and location. Location/Parking: For those of you who are not familiar with this location the parking can be a bit tricky not for the salon but the complete shopping center. Just park in one of the garages and you will have about a 3 minute walk. Also, If you need to park close to the door driving around waiting for someone to leave that is an option too. That usually works out well for me. Service: Due to several disappointments from other salons; I was hesitant at first, so I made a call to test the waters if you will. The gentleman that answered the phone was polite enough; so, I decided to give it a go. May I say, I was shockingly surprised at the quality of service I received. My gentleman technician was highly skilled about the complete nail service. I did not have to tell him polish the edges, file the edges, clean underneath, bring polish to cuticle and most importantly check for lifting. The longevity of the nail service will last you until your next fill in with NO LIFTING, that is rite no lifting in the full two weeks. My technician does an amazing job and I think I am safe with him for awhile. Ambiance: Yes it is small and clean and I know this by observing not 1 but 2 of the guys cleaning as I was approaching for my appointment one afternoon. Yes sometimes the lady technicians are too loud and it is rude to do so in someones ear. But they are in the salon all day you can not expect total quiet for 10/11 hours ... lol It is just 1 lady that is really loud but I think someone said something to her because my last two appointments she was quiet. Communicate with them if it is your first visit ( be nice ) ... So stop by and give this place a shot you will not be disappointed, they will make you happy! read more

I decided to give this place a shot anyway even after reading the reviews but I should have listened to prior clients. Thought I would have a relaxing day for myself, get a mani & pedi and it started off with the person taking care of me looking and acting as if she really did not want to be there. The conversation taking place between each other in their native language was nonstop. I then was asked to leave my chair before the pedicure was complete, feeling rushed in order to accommodate a couple. Mind you, there were 4 other chairs available which could have been used and they could've sat side by side if that's what they wanted. I sat and watched while waiting for my manicure to begin and the person that started the pedicure wanted to finish the job while I sat at the table making it an uncomfortable position having two people working on me. I questioned why the rush and why would they treat me like this, it being my first time there and what was supposed to be relaxing became a rushed, uncomfortable and discriminating experience. They tried to feed me a BS story on how they do things and I just said that it was unacceptable and I didn't continue with the services I asked for and walked out. I'm up at 4:32am in pain because my nail tech DUG like an archaeologist into my big toe nails. It hurt when she did it, but I just thought that maybe it was because I hadn't had a pedi in a while? No. I've gone longer between pedis, and never had pain during the pedi. I'm pretty positive I have a double toe infection, which is great because I have to drive to FL tomorrow and need my feet for, well, everything. I don't know why I didn't say anything during the near surgical procedure. Based on several other reviews, I don't think I'll even get as much as a "sorry". You will arrive for your appointment and be told that they either don't have time for you or the person you booked with on the website can't perform the service requested. HORRIBLE experience. I brought my own base coat (Nailtiques, which cost $25/bottle) to be used, and the manicurist did not give it back to me before I left the salon. I returned the next day and she claimed she never used my base coat and did not keep it. OMG a total LIE, she used my basecoat and failed to return it to me! This is totally unacceptable! I spoke with the Owner and she told me to walk around the ENTIRE salon and look for it in all the drawers of her 15 different stations. Seriously!!! The least the Owner could have done is offer me a complementary manicure to compensate my for my $25 bottle of Nailtiques that the manicurist failed to return to me! I arrived, on time, for a scheduled appointment. They sat me at a pedicure station right away but I sat there for 35 minutes before they began my pedicure. I was getting a color change for my gel nails. My fingers were wrapped in acetone for 40 minutes before the manicure began. This was only my second time getting gel nails so I wasn't sure what to expect but 40 minutes soaking in acetone can't be healthy. They had to rush through my manicure so that I would not be late for my next appointment. I was very disappointed. It's difficult to carve out time for little luxuries like this and to set an appointment in advance and still be made to wait was stressful and discouraging. read more

Ambience and employees are superb, it is apparent that they are experienced and have their act together! I came for a fill on my nails after reading positive reviews on Yelp, but I wasn't convinced until after I had visited the salon in person. Immediately after sitting down they offered me a beverage and ensured that I was comfortable, a step that many salons skip. There is also a wide selection of polishes so I did not have to compromise on a color when they helped me match a shade to a photo on my phone. Can't beat that location either ;) read more

I had a 4:30 appointment with some of my friends, when I received the confirmation email it said it would only take an hour for a acrylic set. Keep in mind I wanted to go acrylic instead of the dip when I already had the dip on. I waited over 40 minutes until they started and when the lady was taking my previous acrylics off, she was judged ripping them off with a cuticle cutter. It hurt so bad and my nails looked horrible underneath like a layer of my nail was torn off with the acrylic. It took the lady who was doing my nails AN HOUR to just file them to shape, and when she was doing my cuticles she was citing off good skin which lead me to having cuts around my nails on most of my nails. When I told her that it hurt she just put some Acetone on it like that's going to stop the burning and pain. When she was finally done filing my nail an hour later, she then was starting to paint. Keep in mind my friends nails only took an hour to finish so they were very surprised that she just had started with the polish. After that she started rushing with the polish and got so much nail polish on my skin and they didn't seem to care. I wanted to get a candy cane design to my ring finger for the holidays, and when she saw the design I wanted she just pasted me on to a different lady. She didn't even finish her job. Then the lady who was doing the design keep taking my hand out of the uv light before it was complete so the nail polish wasn't dry. So she kept on having to redo it, and she had the nerves to make it seem like it was my fault that they weren't dry! She finally finished and my nails hurt so bad from her ripping the previous acrylics off and the cuts she made on my fingers. When it was ready to pay I gave her a 20% tip even though I was being nice, when she did a HORRIBLE job. When I gave her the tip she was forcing me to give her a higher tip and saying things like "you can put a 30% tip on the card" repeatedly. if you want to go here DO NOT I repeat DO NOT! THIS IS THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER GONE TO FOR MY NAILS! I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! read more

I recently moved to the area and after trying a few different nail salons I finally found THE ONE. The salon is very clean and all of the nail techs are very courteous and friendly. I opted to have a manicure and pedicure. My nails were honestly a wreck after my last bad salon experience, however my tech, MyChi, was WONDERFUL! She was very patient and understanding and took her time to fix the damage from the previous salon. She is very thorough! Finally I found someone who is as picky about my nails as I am! She didn't rush me to get to the next client and overall it was a very (much needed) relaxing experience. I have seen MyChi twice now and my second experience was even better than the first! She remembered me and treated me like an old friend. My nails are coming in very nicely! I highly recommend the salon. I haven't worked with any of the other techs, but while I was there they all seemed to show the same care and attention as MyChi! Great place! So happy I found it! read more

I have been to Katie's Nails numerous times. Over the summer I had a terrible experience where it took almost 4 hours for a mani pedi. The woman who was doing my nails didn't cut my cuticles all the way, left major parts of my nail exposed without nail polish covering it. At that point I said it's fine just remove the polish bc I needed to leave. The manager insisted I stay and have someone else finish. 4 days later my nail polish was chipping (gel) and peeling off. I was told to come back and they would do my nails for free. I never got my free mani pedi I just let it go. They love to tell sob stories while doing your nails. For example just the simple "I never go on vacation I am always working ". I always work too! I have a job that requires me to work holidays and on call. However, when I did call back to ask about getting that complimentary mani pedi and was told the manager was on vacation LOL! I thought they never went on vacation? The last time I went in was the last straw. Another story about he has to work on the holidays. I called ahead to ask if it was too busy for me to drop in and they said no it's perfect time. I said I just don't want to be rushed. Nope I was rushed as usual. I knew exactly what I wanted and the male who did my nails (his name is Long) kept huffing and puffing as I decided between two unique nail colors. I wanted gold glitter but with gel it's hard to tell how it will look. He gave no suggestion when I asked and instead had his arms crossed. I asked if they had nude or pale pink I could put under the gold and he said no they don't have those colors! Then he says "OK IM GOING ON MY LUNCH BREAK!" He leaves to go eat and he came back smelling like cigarette smoke and food. He left again even when I decided on my nail colors after finding pink colors that apparently didn't exit... to go back and eat! I showed him a photo of what I wanted it was simple. Pink vase color with glitter on top. More glitter at the top of the nail bed then toward the cuticle area.... and he didn't do it. He comes back and HITS ON ME. Probably bc he thought it would be funny and to make sure I give a good tip. I was asked if I had a boyfriend. I said no, was asked why, and I said bc I don't want one. He kept calling me "baby". Said he would come to my house and cook. Kept saying he would be my boyfriend. He said it loud enough for everyone to hear. Then the manager tried to say "yea you should date him he is a good guy" He gave me his Number on a piece of paper towel and told me to call him on his cell phone later. This was manipulative, disturbing, and unprofessional. Everything about my experience was unprofessional. I told him in the middle of painting my nails I did not like the color and he didn't care. He proceeded to finish and I felt like a burden for even being there. I'm paying for the business yet I felt unwelcome and harassed. I called the next day and politely told the manager how I felt and he basically told me it's my fault bc the guy who did my nail suggested I do red... and that I have no reason to feel like I was a burden bc it was my fault. which made no sense bc I never said I wanted red it was just a blame game convo. I just wanted to change my nail color and have a better experience and it felt uncomfortable so I never even went back in. I'm a generous tipper and I regret it every time. I want a refund bc I never ever ever will go here again simply for the fact the manager and employees are greedy and treated me terrible. Will anything positive happen from this review? Nope! I have never taken the time to write a review but I feel it is necessary here. I came straight home and wrote this review. Today (8/16/14) I went in for a mani and pedi done by MY CHI and it was horrible. I was very upset and gave ZERO dollars for a tip and I have never given someone a zero dollar tip before. I was actually very mad that I had to pay 42$ for the service and I strongly believe that I should get a refund of some sort. She was rushed so she didn't do a perfect job and only did one top coat on each when they are suppose to do 2. I got a silver polish and wanted a design on it but she told me that "no colors will show up on it". I have gotten a very similar color in the past and they were able to do a design perfectly. She was obviously rushed so I assumed I couldn't do a design because she had another customer (a regular it seems like) waiting right there. Completely rude. On top of that, she didn't put any lotion or rub my hands at all so there was no massage there. They are suppose to put lotion on your hands, massage them, then have you go wash them, she didn't even have me go up and wash my hands. Also she did not properly clean up my finger nails, I can still see dirt in them and it is clear that she didn't use all the tools she was suppose to use. On the other hand my mom had MICHAEL and he was FANTASTIC. I made sure that I picked up his card on the way out so that I could come in again and request him. I really hate to give a 1-star review to a brand new business, so I gave them 2 stars. Their redeeming quality is that of my group of 3, one of us had an exceptional experience with the man that was working. The rest of us were not impressed. My "massage" was actually painful - she had no idea what she was doing. In fact, the other two working kept instructing her on what was next for my pedicure. To make matters worse, I was the only one to upgrade to a spa pedicure for $20 more, was started second, but somehow finished first. And I still have rough spots on my feet. Maybe we just started out on the wrong foot (no pun intended). When we first got there, one of the employees threw a lit cigarette out in a trash can behind the building, and the fire department was called because of the smoke. Then the owner came in and was yelling at the employees which led to an argument (albeit in another language). At the end, they gave us all little goodie bags with a full-sized base and top coat by OPI and an OPI hand cream, so that kind of made the trip worth it. Also, everyone working was really nice. I've been going to Spring Essence in Leesburg for Years. My husband got me a gift card to Katie's for my Bday. I went yesterday to get the pink and white full set for $55.00. During the process the guy was extremely sloppy, but I didn't say anything. I kept showing him that the pink part of several nails looked uneven and had dips in them. He said "I fix " and continued to do what he was doing. I am not the type that complains... He did not fix anything it was like he did understand me, but he spoke perfect English. I was so upset and will never go back there. My nails looked horrible, I was shocked! I had to leave and go see my Jenny at Spring Essence to have her fix them the best she could.....
